This research is based on an analysis of an American short story entitled The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. The purpose of this analysis is to examine and categorize the characterization of the character in the short story. The methods applied to analyze the data in this study is a qualitative method to describe in words the examination of the short story based on the characterization. The data source is collected through documentation and note-taking processes. For the results of this analysis the character in the short story classified into several types and detailed classifications of each character's traits, actions, and roles within the context of the narrative.

Turtles as one of the rare and almost extinct animals need to be preserved. The prevention effort taken is through conservation. Conservation cannot work alone without the support of the surrounding community. For this reason, there is a need for public awareness of the importance of preserving turtles. Community service activities by IPB International lecturers and students were carried out in the Sanur area, Denpasar, Bali. The activities are giving counseling about turtle conservation as well as activities to clean up the beach area. Counseling was given by a manager from the turtle sanctuary conservation. There are three stages carried out in this activity, namely the preparation, the counseling, and the cleaning stages. In the preparation stage, the team approached community supervisory groups, fishermen groups, and youth groups in Sanur. Next, the counseling stage was carried out with material about the life cycle of turtles and the process of caring for them. In the final stage, the beach area is cleaned to create a comfortable place for turtles that lay their eggs and hatch on the coast. This community activity is felt to be very beneficial for the young generation who live around the Sanur Beach area. In the future, the community hopes that the team will carry out similar activities in other tourism sectors that can benefit the community in the Sanur area.

There are many factors that influence employee or employee performance at work. that performance is basically influenced by many factors, one of which is work motivation in carrying out tasks. One of the factors that can influence employee performance is work motivation, incentives (compensation), and leadership. The aim of this research is to determine and analyze the influence of leadership style on the performance of medical and non-medical service staff at Tarempa Hospital, Anambas Islands, Riau in 2024. This type of research uses a descriptive analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was all the medical and non-medical service installation staff at Tarempa Regional Hospital, Anambas Islands, Riau, totaling 78 people. While the sample numbered 78 people, this population sampling was carried out with the total population. Data analysis was carried out using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. Based on the results of the chi-square test, it is known that the performance of medical and non-medical service staff has an influence on Militaristic Leadership Style, Paternalistic Leadership Style, Laissirez Fair Leadership Style and Democratic Leadership Style p = 0.000, meaning that there is an influence of Militaristic Leadership Style, Paternalistic Leadership Style, Leadership Style Laissirez Fair and Democratic Leadership Style. on the performance of medical and non-medical service staff. From the results of the multivariate analysis, it is known that the most influential variable in this study is the Democratic Leadership Style variable with an odds ratio (OR) value of 62,850 which predominantly influences medical and non-medical service staff. The conclusion in this research is that the appropriate leadership style applied by medical and non-medical services is a democratic leadership style. This is because based on research results, democratic leadership style is the most dominant influence on the performance of medical and non-medical service staff. It is recommended that medical and non-medical service staff strive to improve the performance of medical and non-medical services through reading and discussion activities and discipline when entering work.    

A hedonic lifestyle is a lifestyle in which individuals spend time and money that serves only as motivation, a social class with conceptions that reflect the individual who uses it. The study aims to describe the relationship between self-control and hedonistic lifestyles in students at Padang State University. This research uses a quantitative approach. The population in this study consisted of students at State University Padang with a total sample of 119 students using purposive techniques. The data collection using a scale with a hedonist lifestyle measurement tool organized by Amelia Acmel (2022) refers to the hedonistic lifestyle aspects proposed by Engel et al (1994), and the self-control measuring tool developed by Anggraeni (2022), referred to Averril (1973)'s self-controllment aspects as the instruments used in this research. Data analysis in this study uses product moment correlation techniques. The results of the analysis showed that there was a negative relationship between self-control and hedonistic lifestyles in students at Padang State University with statistical results of correlation coefficients r = -0,379 and p = 0,000 (p<0,5).

Consumptive behavior can be said to be the behavior of buying goods without strong consideration and prioritizing desires over needs. Consumptive behavior is influenced by two main factors, including internal factors that cause consumptive behavior including self-esteem, drive, self-concept, and personality. As well as external factors that cause consumer behavior due to social class, culture, reference groups and family. This research aims to determine the influence of peer behavior, use of social media, and lifestyle on the consumptive behavior of students at SMKN 1 Tanjung Jabung Barat for the 2023/2024 academic year. The method in this research is quantitative research. The samples were taken using nonprobability techniques. The sample in this research were class The analysis used is multiple linear regression with the SPSS 27 program. The research results show that peer behavior (X1) partially influences consumptive behavior (Y), social media (X2) partially has no influence on consumptive behavior (Y), lifestyle (X3) partially influences consumptive behavior (Y). Meanwhile, simultaneously the behavior of peers, social media and lifestyle on consumer behavior is 32.9%. And the remaining 67.1% is influenced by other variables outside this research.

This research aims to investigate the relationship between leadership style, level of work discipline, motivation and employee performance at the Economic Bureau of the Governor's Office of West Sumatra Province, with motivation as an intervening variable. The research method used is a qualitative approach to gain a deeper understanding of organizational dynamics. Data was collected through interviews and observations of employees and leaders at the Economic Bureau. The research results show that effective leadership styles, such as transformative and participative leadership, have a positive influence on employee motivation and performance. On the other hand, a high level of work discipline also has a positive impact on employee motivation and performance through creating a structured and supportive work environment. Employee motivation, as a mediator, plays an important role in linking leadership style, work discipline, and employee performance. This research provides valuable insight into the factors that influence employee performance in the Economic Bureau and their effectiveness on the effectiveness of economic management at the provincial level.

The main concern addressed in this research is whether implementing a directive teaching approach influences the enhancement of fundamental dribbling skills using the back foot in soccer among students at Senduk Christian Junior High School. The study employed an experimental design, dividing 20 participants into two groups of 10 each, and utilized a randomized controlled pre-test and post-test design. The assessment tool employed evaluated the proficiency in basic dribbling techniques using the top of the foot during soccer matches. The hypothesis posited that employing a directive teaching style would impact the learning of fundamental dribbling techniques using the sole of the foot in soccer among students at Senduk Christian Junior High School. Data analysis involved the use of the t-test, preceded by tests for data variance homogeneity and normality. The hypothesis suggested that employing a directive teaching style influences the acquisition of basic dribbling skills among Senduk Christian Junior High School students. The study concluded that utilizing a directive teaching style indeed contributes to the improvement of basic dribbling skills using the sole of the foot in soccer matches among students at Senduk Christian Junior High School. This was supported by a calculated t-value exceeding the critical t-value, where t-value = 4.891 > critical t-value = 2.101.

This research provides a deep understanding of the transformation of preaching or dawah communication styles in the digital era. Against the backdrop of technological advancements, preaching is no longer confined to conventional methods but has evolved into multi-directional communication that is more interactive and responsive. Preachers now adopt various strategies to enhance the effectiveness of preaching in the digital world. The research results highlight the shift in preaching communication styles from traditional lectures to utilizing social media, video platforms, and instant messaging applications. Prominent preachers in Indonesia, such as Abdul Somad, Adi Hidayat, and Khalid Basalamah, serve as successful examples in reaching audiences through digital channels. Various strategies for enhancing preaching in the digital era are identified, including mastering various digital platforms, developing storytelling skills, understanding online audience trends and habits, collaborating with digital content creators, implementing interactive technology, optimizing search and online visibility, and maintaining branding and messaging consistency. In conclusion, the utilization of digital technology can create preaching content that is more dynamic, relevant, and easily accessible to audiences increasingly connected through technology. Thus, this research provides practical guidance for preachers and researchers to enhance preaching communication in the digital era, making preaching more effective and relevant in the face of the dynamic developments in communication technology.

This articles is the result of the research on the social practice contradiction of nawaning or Kiai’s daughter in the salaf Islamic Boarding School in the globalization era. This research explains how social practices of nawaning in the salaf Islamic Boarding School in the globalization era is.   The research explains how the process is carried out and then produces social behaviors that exist in the environment. The theory used in this research is the theory of Anthony Gidden. This theory describe the era of globalization as 'uncontrolled world'. In addition, it also uses Bourdieu's theory as a supporting theory in the analysis. This study uses a qualitative method that departs from a data to analyze a particular problem. Data collection in this study was carried out by observing techniques that are observing the Islamic Boarding School environment, the participation of researchers involved in nawaning activities in Islamic Boarding School, interview, and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the social practice of nawaning in the Salaf Islamic Boarding School has a contradictory nature in the Islamic Boarding School environment. Nawaning behavior by using owned capital as a form of class domination in the environment. Then in practice they try to produce language to offer new values in the environment of the Salaf boarding school. There is dialectic between nawaning actors and also the actors under it namely santri. So that the social practices adopted by these nawaning are contradictory to the rules and values that apply in the Salaf Islamic Boarding School.

This research aims to determine the influence of motivation and leadership style together on performance and to determine the influence of motivation and leadership style partially on the performance of employees of the Kenanga Gemilang Foundation, Semarang. A leader in leading an organization should use existing human resources to achieve goals set by the organization. Employees are resources that can be utilized to achieve organizational goals as fully as possible, and this is very important for a leader to practice a leadership style that suits the organization. The results show that work motivation and leadership style have a positive and significant influence on employee performance. The magnitude of F 282,919 (R2) is 0.953, with a coefficient of determination value of 0.953; thus, it can be interpreted that the magnitude of the influence of the two variables, motivation and leadership style, on performance is 95.3%, while the remaining 4.7% is influenced by other variables.

The study of diction and style of language in the lyrics of the song Sang Dewi by an Indonesian singer named Lyodra Ginting is the focus of this research. This topic was chosen based on the linguistic elements in the song lyrics. To identify these linguistic elements, this study employs a descriptive qualitative research method based on library sources in the form of research object data, namely the lyrics of the song Sang Dewi, which can be accessed through official digital platforms such as Spotify, and several references in the form of books accessed online and journals whose topic of discussion is similar to this research. Language elements include the style of language and diction used in the lyrics of the song Sang Dewi. The findings of this study are the concluding meanings of the diction and style of language used in the song Sang Dewi.

The research article on the Influence of Place Atmosphere and Modern Lifestyle on Purchasing Decisions of Coffee Shop Consumers (Case Study on Coffee Ethics) is research that aims to build a research hypothesis on the influence between variables that will be used in further research. The method of this research article is to use quantitative methods, while the type of research used is descriptive research. The results of this research article are: 1) The influence of atmosphere has a significant influence on purchasing decisions; 2) The influence of modern lifestyle has a significant influence on purchasing decisions; 3) The influence of modern atmosphere and lifestyle has a significant influence on purchasing decisions.

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing partially and simultaneously the independent variables, namely Leadership Style, Motivation and Work Discipline, on the dependent variable, namely Employee Performance. This research was conducted at PT. Champ Resto Indonesia Bekasi branch. The data analysis used is the classical analysis test and multiple regression analysis, to test and prove the research hypothesis using the SPSS Version 26 application. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 51 employees at PT. Champ Resto Indonesia Bekasi branch. Partially the results show that the Leadership Style variable has a significant effect on Employee Performance, with the results showing t-count (4.017) > t-table (2.012) sig (0.01) < (0.05) the Motivation variable has a significant effect on Performance Employees, with the results showing t-count (3.045) > t-table (2.012) sig (0.03) < (0.05). And the Work Discipline variable has a significant effect on Employee Performance, with t-count results (4.496) > (2.012) sig (0.00) < (0.05). Simultaneously, the results obtained from this research are that the Leadership Style, Motivation and Work Discipline variables simultaneously have a significant effect on the Employee Performance variable with results showing f-count (7.998) > f-table (2.80) sig (0.00) < (0.05). This study aims to provide an overview of the clubbers' lifestyle during emerging adulthood, focusing on aspects including social interaction, clothing style, music preferences, and the impact on physical and mental health of clubbers. The research employs a descriptive qualitative research method. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews, observations at nightclubs, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 3 respondents, including 2 females and 1 male. Purposive sampling technique was employed to select participants. The findings of this study acknowledge the significance of emotional expression in the clubbers' lifestyle during emerging adulthood. Social interactions at clubs foster self-confidence and identity enhancement. However, the study also reveals potential impacts on physical and mental health such as altered sleep patterns and stress potential. These findings emphasize the importance of balancing positive emotional expression and individual well-being in navigating the clubbers' lifestyle during the transition to young adulthood.

The purpose of this research is to find out how the leadership of the food and beverage department of XY Jakarta Hotel involves employees in decision making to obtain wise decision results.

This research aims to investigate the role of leadership style in increasing employee performance effectiveness in the context of modern organizations. Cyber ​​Net is a place that facilitates people in using the internet as a medium for playing online games as well as a medium for seeking information and learning. The aim of the research was to create a comfortable gaming place that would attract the attention of e-sports users. By using a qualitative approach, it is hoped that this research can produce a design that not only pays attention to beauty and aesthetic aspects, but also pays attention to the appropriate and comfortable position and layout.

The aim of the study was to determine the influence of the commando teaching style on the results of long serve in students of SMP Negeri 1 Bitung. Data Collection was carried out by direct measurement in the field. Measurement is done by measuring the exact length of the service to the specified target. Data processing is done by testing the analytical requirements that must be met, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. The results showed that there was an effect of the commando teaching style on the improvement of long serve results in badminton for student of SMP Negeri 1 Bitung.

Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman version which includes: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that teachers in communicating with their students apply various communication styles, including teachers providing initial direction, but providing space for students to take initiative, explore, and determine the course of learning. This style encourages students to develop independence and problem-solving.
