This study aims to examine the influence of students' dominant use of regional languages on their Indonesian speaking skills. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations and open-ended questionnaires. The research subjects were fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students attending TPQ Al-Muhajirin, located in a community where regional languages are predominantly used in daily communication. The findings indicate that students who primarily communicate in regional languages encounter several difficulties when speaking in Indonesian, including challenges in selecting appropriate vocabulary (72.2%), constructing grammatically accurate sentences (36.1%), code-switching between regional languages and Indonesian (86.1%), and a lack of self-confidence when speaking Indonesian (47.2%). In contrast, students who are accustomed to using Indonesian did not experience such challenges. To overcome these difficulties, students adopted various strategies, such as practicing speaking in Indonesian regularly (36.1%), seeking assistance from teachers or peers (55.6%), and engaging with Indonesian-language materials through reading and video content (5.6%). These results suggest that the dominant use of regional languages significantly affects the speaking skills of elementary school-aged children. Consequently, there is a need for more intensive interventions aimed at enhancing students' Indonesian speaking abilities, such as fostering an environment that actively supports the use of Indonesian in daily communication.

This study investigates the dual impact of teacher competence on student academic performance and the development of leadership qualities in Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools in Kabupaten Serang, Banten Province. Using a qualitative research approach, data were collected through interviews, focus groups, and classroom observations involving teachers and students. The findings reveal that teacher competence encompasses not only mastery of subject matter and pedagogical skills but also emotional intelligence and leadership modeling. Competent teachers create supportive and participatory learning environments that enhance both academic achievement and leadership development among students. The research highlights that effective teachers are those who not only deliver content but also engage students in meaningful ways, fostering a sense of belonging and motivation. This engagement is crucial, as it encourages students to take ownership of their learning and develop critical thinking skills. Furthermore, the study identifies that teachers who model leadership behaviors—such as ethical decision-making, effective communication, and collaboration—significantly influence students' perceptions of leadership and their willingness to adopt similar traits. However, challenges such as limited access to professional development and resource constraints affect the full realization of teacher competence. Many teachers express a desire for ongoing training and support to enhance their skills, yet systemic barriers often hinder their professional growth. The study underscores the need for comprehensive teacher development programs and policy support to improve educational outcomes holistically. These insights are valuable for educators, policymakers, and school administrators aiming to foster academic excellence and leadership skills in students. By prioritizing teacher competence and providing the necessary resources, schools can create an environment that not only promotes academic success but also prepares students to become effective leaders in their communities.

This research is motivated by the challenges faced by teachers in implementing effective and smooth learning processes, particularly in implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) learning at MAN 2 Bengkulu City. Teachers, as crucial components in the learning process, need to pay attention to students' needs and characteristics in preparing meaningful learning. The PBL model is one of the alternative learning approaches that uses problems as a starting point for students to develop critical thinking skills. This research employed a qualitative approach with research subjects comprising teachers and eleventh-grade students at MAN 2 Bengkulu City. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research results identified several obstacles in PBL implementation, namely: (1) limited learning time; (2) minimal supporting facilities; (3) variations in student ability levels and characteristics; and (4) lack of interaction and communication between teachers and students. This research also produced strategies to overcome these obstacles, including thorough preparation, effective time management, and development of teachers' abilities to facilitate problem-based learning. These findings contribute to the development of more effective SKI learning practices with a PBL approach in madrasas.

This study comprehensively investigated the gap in English tense mastery among non-English students. Data were collected using a qualitative case study methodology from seven purposively selected informants through in-depth interviews and direct observation. Key findings reveal persistent challenges, including significant anxiety around using complex tenses, the widespread influence of mother tongue interference (given the absence of explicit tense conjugations in Indonesian), and the limited effectiveness of traditional non-contextual grammar teaching. The observations also highlight a critical gap: although students use digital devices extensively, their engagement with English content is minimal, directly contributing to lower writing and speaking practice assessment scores. Instead, the unexpected finding was the student's remarkable ability to internalize the 16th pattern of the English tenses through memorization in just thirty minutes. These insights underscore the urgent need for innovative, contextual, and confidence-building pedagogical strategies to bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and practical application, enhancing language acquisition and professional communication skills.

The digital transformation has redefined how Christian leaders fulfill their roles, shifting leadership from being solely grounded in physical presence to requiring adaptability in digital environments. This study explores the key factors that influence the multiplication of effective Christian leadership in the digital era, focusing on maintaining a balance between technological engagement and spiritual integrity. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, the study identifies several crucial elements contributing to leadership effectiveness: strong digital communication skills, impactful online presence, structured online discipleship, and hybrid ministry models that integrate both virtual and in-person interactions. These factors help leaders reach wider audiences and foster community despite geographical barriers. However, the digital context also introduces new challenges, such as the risk of superficial spiritual relationships and the temptation to prioritize digital popularity over genuine spiritual growth. The findings highlight the need for Christian leaders to uphold their core values, authenticity, and moral responsibility in the face of technological advancement. By doing so, they can maintain trust, inspire their followers, and expand their ministry influence while navigating the complexities of a rapidly evolving digital landscape. This study concludes that the future of Christian leadership depends on leaders who are both digitally competent and spiritually grounded.

Competence means the ability needed to do or carry out work based on knowledge, skills and attitudes. Social competence is one of the five competencies that must be possessed by a Christian Religious Education Teacher. A teacher's social competence is seen from his ability to communicate and interact with students, fellow educators, parents and the community. The importance of social competence for a professional Christian Religious Education Teacher is to build positive relationships with students, create collaboration with fellow educators, build communication with parents as well as with the surrounding community and the whole form of the relationship is as an effort from an educator in understanding others.  Creating and maintaining good social relationships means that it contains care and empathy as taught by Jesus as Great Master so that everyone not only pays attention to their own interests but also the interests of others including the interests of students.

The world of education has undergone a major shift as a result of advances in information and communication technology. This study compares conventional and digital learning methods for distance learning (PJJ) across the board, with the aim of finding out what is effective, what is not effective, and how the two methods affect student learning outcomes and experiences. Conventional learning, which relies on direct interaction between teachers and students, emphasizes elements such as giving feedback, easy to do, structured, and routine. It has the advantage of being able to facilitate direct interpersonal communication, provide intensive supervision and guidance, and create a competitive learning environment. However, this method has some limitations, especially in terms of time and space flexibility. It is also not able to meet the learning needs of individuals in large groups. On the other hand, digital learning offers greater flexibility, access to a wide range of educational resources, and increased interactivity through the use of online collaboration tools, e-learning platforms, and video conferencing. The use of technology allows learning content to be presented in a systematic, structured and engaging manner, increasing student motivation and participation. In addition, it allows materials to be tailored to each student's learning style and conditions, and supports collaborative and independent learning. Challenges include the possibility of misuse of technology, limited access in some areas, lack of direct social interaction, and reliance on digital infrastructure and capabilities. The research results indicate that digital learning generally enhances student learning outcomes more significantly compared to conventional learning, especially in terms of distance learning (PJJ). Digital strategies such as structured instructional design, integration of practical experiences, motivational support, and time management have been shown to improve student interaction, understanding, and independence. However, digital and conventional learning methods can complement each other to achieve optimal effectiveness. The application of these strategies not only boosts students' academic performance but also equips them with the essential skills to tackle future challenges.

This study aims to assess the extent to which the influence of the empathic communication approach in counseling guidance has an effect on increasing students' self-confidence at the Daarul Uluum Lido Modern Islamic Boarding School. Empathic communication-based counseling guidance services increase students' interpersonal communication skills by 23%. This approach emphasizes the importance of group dynamics as a medium that helps students feel supported by their peers and becomes a foundation for strengthening their self-confidence. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method to provide an accurate description of the relationship between the empathic communication approach in counseling guidance and student self-improvement at the Daarul Uluum Lido Islamic Boarding School. The results of the study show that empathic communication has a very significant role in building positive relationships between counselors and students. In addition, this study also found that the role of counselors in implementing empathic communication is still not fully optimal, especially in providing deeper emotional validation to students. Some students feel the need to be heard, they still need stronger encouragement to be more confident in expressing their opinions. Therefore, although this approach has proven effective in increasing students' self-confidence, it still needs to be strengthened in certain aspects so that its impact is more optimal.

The competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia often faces obstacles due to limited product packaging that fails to adequately reflect product quality, uniqueness, and brand identity. Packaging is not merely a protective container but also a strategic communication tool that influences consumer perceptions, shapes brand image, and supports market expansion. This community service program was carried out at the Banana Chips MSME “Bu Tini” in Semarang, which previously relied on simple plastic packaging without graphic design, brand logo, or product information. The main objective of this program was to assist the MSME in developing both the design and functional aspects of packaging as a strategic effort to strengthen branding, enhance product value, and improve competitiveness. The methodology applied was community-based and participatory, consisting of field observation, focus group discussions, collaborative design with the business owner, and prototype testing of new packaging. The results demonstrate that the redesigned packaging highlights a stronger visual identity through logos, colors, and slogans, while also ensuring practicality, durability, and compliance with food safety standards. Furthermore, the new packaging improved information clarity regarding composition, expiration date, and producer details, which significantly increased consumer trust in hygiene and quality. From a broader perspective, the activity fostered social transformation by raising awareness among the owner and workers about the importance of branding and professional packaging, developing new skills, and positioning the MSME as a role model for similar businesses in the community. This program implies that packaging development is not solely a visual improvement but a strategic branding instrument that can support MSMEs in achieving sustainability and greater competitiveness in local, regional, and potentially digital markets.

The selection of group counseling interventions in addressing learners' problems shows high effectiveness because it utilizes group dynamics that support the development of emotional aspects, cognition, and communication skills. Group counseling has an important role in the preventive, curative, and developmental functions of learners, both in terms of mental health, social skills, academics, and career planning. Group counseling is a relevant form of counseling service to deal with learners' problems that are urgent and have similarities, and serves as a means of holistic self-development. The effectiveness of this service depends not only on productivity, but also the perspectives of counseling teachers, students, and the efficiency of implementation, all of which are influenced by the professional competence of counselors according to national standards. Effectiveness itself is understood as success in achieving service goals, which includes internal and external factors of service implementers. In its implementation, different group counseling approaches and techniques can still achieve optimal results when adjusted to the problems and needs of students. The use of the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy approach in group counseling is proven to increase participants' understanding of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and strengthen group interaction in depth. Strategies and innovations in counseling techniques or methods need to be adjusted to strengthen the effectiveness of the service, while participant activeness and the dynamics of social interaction are important factors in supporting the success of group counseling. Therefore, collaboration between group members is needed so that the counseling process runs smoothly and service goals can be achieved optimally.
