This study was motivated by the high number of stunted children found in stunting locations, namely in Kelurahan Kahean and Sigulang-gulang, Kecamatan Siantar Utara, Kota Pematangsiantar. This study also found indications of inadequate parenting patterns in terms of nutrition and child health care. This condition is a serious concern because stunting not only affects children's physical growth but also influences their cognitive development and future quality of life. To understand this phenomenon in depth, this study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, literature studies, and documentation, involving six main informants. The results of the study revealed that 4 of the 6 parents with stunted children practiced inadequate parenting, particularly neglectful parenting, which was the most dominant parenting style. This neglectful parenting style was characterized by a lack of adequate supervision and attention to providing nutritious food and health care for children. Parents who apply this parenting style tend to consistently ignore their children's nutritional and health needs, thereby increasing the risk of stunting. In addition, some parents also apply a permissive parenting style, which is characterized by allowing children to freely choose food without clear boundaries or rules. As a result, children often consume unhealthy foods and have irregular eating schedules. In addition to parenting factors, limited socioeconomic conditions also exacerbate the risk of stunting. Parents' low level of knowledge about balanced nutrition and child health care further increases the likelihood of children experiencing stunting. This shows that economic and educational factors are major obstacles in efforts to prevent stunting in the Kecamatan Siantar Utara.

Bullying remains a serious issue in the education sector, particularly at the junior high school level. The lack of students’ understanding regarding forms of bullying often leads to behaviors considered jokes, such as calling peers by their parents’ names, which can cause psychological harm. This community service program aimed to raise awareness among students of SMP Negeri 6 Pagelaran about the dangers of bullying and to build a collective commitment to its prevention. The method employed was Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) through four stages: Discovery, Dream, Design, and Destiny. The results revealed that students developed a better understanding of the definitions, forms, and impacts of bullying. Active participation through discussions, games, and reflections encouraged students to design simple preventive strategies and establish class-wide agreements. This study discusses child adoption in the context of Christian theology, focusing on the opinions of the congregation of HKBP Kana Resort Kana Duri. Child adoption is an effort to provide affection and protection to children who do not have biological parents or who have been abandoned, in accordance with the values of love and acceptance taught in the Bible. In the Christian view, adoption is not only seen as a social solution, but also has a deep theological dimension, reflecting the relationship between God and His people as Father and His children. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to explore the congregation's views on child adoption and the challenges they face in implementing this practice. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies, which were then analyzed to understand the theological meaning of child adoption and the congregation's opinions on adoption. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the problems that exist are in the personal and social readiness of the congregation, lack of education, and the absence of special assistance from the church as an institution of faith that should be a protector and director in making ethical and moral decisions for its congregation.

Speech delay in children is a developmental issue commonly encountered in society, which can affect various aspects of a child's life, including communication, social interaction, and academic development. Early detection of speech delay is crucial for providing appropriate interventions to minimize its long-term impact on the child. This study aims to introduce the use of machine learning algorithms in detecting speech delay symptoms in children. Three machine learning algorithms applied in this study are Naïve Bayes, C4.5, and K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN). These algorithms are used to classify speech delay symptoms based on health data, medical history, and environmental factors such as speaking habits and eating patterns. The outreach was conducted at Puskesmas Kota Rantauprapat with the involvement of parents and healthcare providers as participants. The experimental results showed that all three algorithms performed well in terms of accuracy, though with varying error rates. Naïve Bayes achieved relatively high accuracy but had a higher false positive rate compared to C4.5 and K-NN. C4.5 provided more stable results and was easier to interpret due to its decision tree structure. Meanwhile, K-NN performed better with data that had irregular distribution. This outreach is expected to assist both the community and healthcare providers in early detection of speech delay in children, providing a more efficient and affordable means for early intervention, which ultimately leads to better outcomes for children with speech delay.

Background: Anemia is one of the public health problems commonly found among adolescent girls, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. This condition affects concentration, academic performance, and productivity, making early detection an essential step to prevent long-term complications. Objective: This study aims to determine the results of early detection of anemia based on clinical symptoms and hemoglobin (Hb) levels among adolescent girls at SMPN 18 Palembang. Methods: This research used a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 132 seventh-grade female students were selected randomly. Data were collected through an anemia symptom questionnaire and hemoglobin level measurement using a hemoglobinometer. Results: The study found that 23.5% of respondents were anemic (Hb < 12 g/dL), and 48.5% showed symptoms of anemia. However, the sensitivity of symptoms in detecting anemia was only 39%, specificity was 19%, with a positive predictive value (PPV) of 60.93% and a negative predictive value (NPV) of 8.82%. Conclusion: Based on the findings, symptom-based detection alone is not sufficiently accurate to diagnose anemia. Hemoglobin level examination is still required as a more valid and objective screening method for the early detection of anemia in adolescent girls In addition to medical intervention, the study advocates for increased awareness and education about anemia, its causes, and prevention methods among students, parents, and educators. Addressing nutritional deficiencies, especially iron intake, through dietary improvements and supplementation is essential in combating anemia in adolescent girls.

This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-acceptance and fear of missing out (FoMO) among Generation Z students who use the TikTok application in West Sumatra. A quantitative approach was employed with 386 Generation Z students selected through purposive sampling. The self-acceptance variable was measured using an instrument developed by the researchers based on Bernard’s (2013) theory, while the FoMO variable used a scale adapted into Indonesian by Kurniawan and Utami (2022) based on Sette et al. (2020). Data were analyzed using correlation techniques. The findings reveal a significant negative correlation between self-acceptance and FoMO (r = –0.522; p = 0.000 < 0.05). This indicates that the higher the level of self-acceptance, the lower the level of FoMO experienced by Generation Z students using TikTok. Conversely, lower self-acceptance is associated with higher levels of FoMO. These results support the notion that low self-acceptance may trigger negative social comparison on social media, increased anxiety, and dependence on external validation. This study offers practical implications for students, parents, and higher education institutions to pay closer attention to self-acceptance as a preventive factor against the negative effects of excessive social media use.

The purpose of this education is to increase public awareness, especially among teenagers, of the impacts of early marriage through educational seminars and Service-Learning-based outreach in Naga Kesiangan Village. Early marriage remains a critical issue in Indonesia, often associated with health risks, psychological stress, and limited educational and social opportunities for young people. The Service-Learning approach was chosen because it not only provides knowledge transfer but also actively engages participants in reflection and discussion, ensuring that the learning process is more contextual and sustainable. The method used was Service-Learning, involving 30 teenagers aged 15–19 years, 15 parents, and 5 community leaders who were purposively selected for their direct relevance to the issue. Activities included seminars, small group discussions, interactive question-and-answer sessions, and collective reflection. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants’ understanding, from 42% (pre-test) to 81% (post-test). Participants gained a deeper understanding of the health, psychological, social, and educational risks of early marriage and were encouraged to delay marriage by choosing positive alternatives through education and skill development. This program also strengthened the role of families and community leaders as preventive agents by fostering collective awareness and support. Thus, educational seminars integrated with Service-Learning prove to be effective and replicable strategies to prevent early marriage practices, while also empowering communities to build healthier, more resilient generations.
