This study aims to increase students' interest in reading using local wisdom-based comic media, in class III Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhajirin Jambi City. Students' reading interest is still relatively low in Natural and Social Sciences subjects, totaling 26 people. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model consisting of 2 cycles. Data collection techniques used by researchers are observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' interest in reading by using comic media based on local wisdom with the percentage of the average value of students' interest in reading in the pre-cycle 33.13%, cycle I 67.45%, and cycle II 92.01% with a very high student interest category, and the percentage of student success in the pre-cycle 11%, cycle 1 61.53%, and cycle II 100% with a very high student interest category. As well as an increase in teacher and student activities in cycle 1 60% and cycle II 87.2%.

This journal aims to determine the impact of the lack of interest in reading among students, the impact of low interest in reading among students and how to increase interest in reading among teenagers. The results obtained in this study are the impact of low interest in reading among students can affect their lack of ability in mastering the field of science and how to increase interest in reading among students improve library services in schools and the community environment the availability of reading materials allows each person to choose what suits their interests and interests. The conclusion of this study is that the impact of the lack of interest in reading among students can affect the progress of the nation and its human resources.

Literacy competency is an essential competency for every individual. Good literacy skills can direct individuals to think more wisely, carefully, as well as creatively and innovatively. However, the literacy competence of some people is still not optimal. The aim of implementing this community service is to increase the literacy competency of elementary, middle and high school students in the city of Medan. The number of employees who take part in literacy assistance activities is 30. The assistance method used consists of three stages, namely: planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation. Planning is carried out by making initial observations through test and non-test activities. Implementation activities are carried out by providing understanding and practice of reading and writing literacy. Monitoring activities are carried out by integrating the participants' competency progress in reading and writing literacy. The mentoring activities that have been carried out can improve the participants' abilities in receptive and productive literacy in the community. The participants were able to reflect on the results of receptive literacy in various creative works as a form of productive competence.

Learning activities carried out at Ambon 6 Public High School with the theme, namely Mading as Students' Interest in Reading to Get to Know National Integration in the Frame of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Where through this learning activity it is used with a cooperative learning model where students are given the opportunity to develop themselves through small groups with the aim of discussing in relation to the material on National Integration in the Frame of Unity in Diversity. Through these learning activities students develop knowledge and social skills in which there is an interaction relationship between teachers and students as well as students and students. Mading is the final result where all information relating to National Integration Within the Frame of Bhineka Tunggal Ika is poured or written on a picture, or there is a combination of the two. Inside the wall magazine is then presented in front of the class.

Children's interest in reading in Indonesia is still a big challenge, although there are many efforts to improve it. Many factors influence, such as lack of access to interesting books, more dominant gadget play habits, and also an environment that is less supportive of reading habits. However, children's interest in reading in Indonesia can grow if they are introduced to relevant and interesting books, and encouraged to read from an early age. To foster an interest in reading, children need to be given the opportunity to find the type of reading that suits their interests and age. Books that are exciting and easy to understand can be a bridge so that they are more interested in reading. In addition, a supportive school and family environment, such as providing special time to read and discuss books, also plays a very important role in fostering positive reading habits. This research is qualitative with informants from the Principal and supporting informants for librarians, teachers and students at Nurul Hadina Junior High School. Data were collected using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that Nurul Hadina Junior High School plays an active role in increasing students' interest in reading through the school library. The role of the subjects in this library is (1) teaching how to find information, (2) improving writing skills, (3) helping independent learning, (4) improving reading habits, (5) helping with schoolwork, (6) critical thinking skills.

Pendidikan anak usia dini merupakan suatu upaya pembinaan dan ditujukan kepada anak sejak lahir sampai dengan usia enam tahun yang dilakukan melalui pemberian rangsangan pendidikan membantu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan jasmani dan rohani agar anak memiliki kesiapan dalam memasuki pendidikan lebih lanjut. Pelaksanaan program ini sering kali menghadapi kendala, baik internal maupun eksternal. Kendala eksternal yaitu dimana orang tua anak-anak yang acuh tak acuh terhadap kegiatan program yang dilaksanakan di TK tersebut. Program aku suka membaca untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif Program "Aku Senang Membaca Buku" di TK Pembina 1 Medan menunjukkan potensi yang baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi anak. Namun, untuk mencapai hasil yang lebih optimal, diperlukan langkah-langkah konkret seperti peningkatan anggaran, penyediaan sumber daya yang memadai, serta pelatihan bagi guru.Penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa program ini memiliki potensi yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan minat baca dan kemampuan literasi anak usia dini. Peningkatan minat baca dan kemampuan literasi anak yang terobservasi setelah pelaksanaan program menunjukkan bahwa dengan pendekatan yang tepat, anak-anak dapat didorong untuk mengembangkan kebiasaan membaca yang baik.

This issue has become a concern in efforts to foster a reading culture among students. This study aims to analyze and describe the types of books that can influence students' reading interest. Data were collected through student evaluations, lecturers' opinions, and librarians' perspectives. The data collection methods included questionnaires, observations, and interviews, with data analysis conducted through reduction processes. The study results highlight four main points: 1) The types of books that attract students' interest include fiction and non-fiction books. 2) External factors influencing reading interest include the environment, support from lecturers, and available facilities. 3) From librarians' perspectives, students' reading interest is affected by curiosity, available facilities, and academic assignments. 4) Efforts to enhance students' reading interest can be carried out through activities such as library visit competitions and book review contests. In conclusion, two types of books—fiction and non-fiction—can influence students' reading interest. A survey of 100 students revealed that 75% preferred fiction books, while the remaining 25% favored non-fiction books.

Literacy in the sense of the ability to read and write initially has a very important role, literacy in the early grades is the basis for determining success in student learning activities, but there are still students in elementary schools who are not able to read and write (literacy) well. So researchers are interested in conducting research with the title "Student Abilities and factors that influence literacy". This service activity was carried out at SDN 032 Tanjung Batu Tarakan on September 21 2024 at 08:00-11:30 WITA. The formulation of the problem in this research is "What factors influence the literacy of children at SD Negeri 032 Tanjung Batu Tarakan?". This research aims to determine various factors that influence children's literacy taught at school. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The subjects in this research were students whose literacy was still lacking at SD Negeri 032 Tanjung Batu Tarakan, totaling 68 students consisting of 44 boys and 24 girls. Data collection was carried out using tests and interviews. The research results obtained in this study are that there are several factors that influence children's literacy, including the educational background of parents, the tutoring they receive, the family (level of family concern) and genes (heredity).

This study aims to describe the role of parents in preventing gadget addiction in children in order to minimize obstacles in the process of child development. The research was conducted at Rumah Baca Kita Buniseuri, DusunKidul, Buniseuri, Cipaku, Ciamis, for two months from September 1 to November 1, 2024. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study with purposive sampling technique, which involved parents who actively use gadgets and play a role in children's learning at home. Data were collected through observation, interviews, data reduction, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique with triangulation for data validity. The results show that gadget addiction in children can be overcome by the active role of parents in supervising and limiting the use of gadgets, as well as encouraging children's interest in reading through reading together and utilizing public facilities such as Rumah Baca Kita. This research has important implications in efforts to improve the quality of child development through collaboration between parents and non-formal education facilities.

Students reading interest is a crucial factor in enhancing the quality of education. However, the lack of structured data makes it challenging to identify specific patterns of reading interest. This study aims to implement a data mining method using the Naive Bayes algorithm to analyze students' reading interest at SMP Negeri 2 Palembang's library. The data used includes book borrowing history, types of books, and library visit frequency over one semester. The analysis results indicate that the Naive Bayes method achieves an accuracy rate of 80% in classifying reading interest based on predetermined categories. These findings are expected to assist the school in designing more effective literacy programs.  

The purpose of this study is 1) To describe the parenting patterns applied by single parents in increasing children's reading interest in Sukowiryo Village, Bondowoso District, Bondowoso Regency 2) To describe the inhibiting and supporting factors for single parents in increasing children's reading interest in Sukowiryo Village, Bondowoso District, Bondowoso Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach, this approach uses the natural environment as a direct source of data, is descriptive analytical, emphasizes the process rather than the results. The results of this study indicate that: 1) In the process of raising their children, two single parent families tend to use authoritarian, permissive and democratic parenting patterns in encouraging their children to be more active in reading so that their education can develop well. 2) a) The inhibiting factor for single parents in raising their children is the control of single parent families in the process of supervising and communicating with their children cannot be done fully every day due to time constraints. This also has an impact on children's learning/reading discipline. In addition, their unstable economic factors cause a lack of availability of reading materials for children, so that children do not maximize their learning. b) While the supporting factors for single parents in raising their sons or daughters are the self-acceptance and determination of the single parents that they have built and fixed to live their lives. They try their best to continue to pay attention to the continuation of their children's education.  

This research discusses the impact of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) at MAN 1 Pandeglang to increase students' interest in reading and literacy skills through literacy outreach every Wednesday morning. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The results show that GLS is implemented in three stages: Habituation, Development, and Learning. Even though there is support from various parties, challenges such as a lack of reading materials and the performance of the school literacy team are obstacles. This research recommends improving facilities and program evaluation to support the success of GLS. With that, the writing of this article will discuss the problem statement: 1) What is the meaning of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) 2) How is the School Literacy Movement (GLS) implemented. 3) What is the impact of the Literacy program on MAN 1 Pandeglang students and students?

Tujuan dari kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman tentang pentingnya minat baca dan literasi siswa di SD 106824 Basamat, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, melalui penerapan media pohon literasi. Penelitian kuantitatif ini melibatkan 50 siswa yang dipilih secara purposive. Kegiatan dimulai dengan pre-test untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman awal siswa mengenai minat baca dan literasi. Setelah itu, dilakukan sosialisasi penggunaan media pohon literasi untuk mendorong minat baca siswa dan meningkatkan keterampilan literasi mereka. Setelah kegiatan selesai, dilaksanakan post-test untuk menilai perubahan yang terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dengan nilai n-gain sebesar 0,250, meskipun masih terdapat potensi untuk peningkatan lebih lanjut. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat memicu terciptanya budaya literasi yang berkelanjutan di sekolah.

The arrangement of the library in SD N 1 Demulih has not been fully implemented based on the flow of the library layout to facilitate and process the work done by the library staff, the library layout can attract students' interest in reading. This study uses a descriptive research method with a qualitative method. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation sheets and interview list sheets conducted at SD N 1 Demulih. The results of this study is the Library at SD N 1 Demulih have carried out several strategies for physical and non-physical arrangement of the library. The physical arrangement strategy that has been carried out is the location of the Library that is accessible to students, bright lighting and available air ventilation as well as providing facilities and infrastructure such as chairs and tables in good condition that can be used by students when reading the library collection. Providing these strategies is very important for readers so that students who read in the library feel comfortable and make them feel at home so that the students want to come back again to read.

In line with the rapid advancement of technology, there has been a significant decline in reading interest across various age groups—both adults and children. One of the main contributing factors is the increasing addiction to digital devices, which has shifted attention away from reading activities and learning responsibilities at home. In response to this issue, we have initiated a movement aimed at revitalizing the spirit of literacy through the establishment and development of the Baitul Ilmi Community Reading Center located in Gesang Village. As an initial step, we have launched a book donation program, open to anyone who wishes to contribute books to support the sustainability of this literacy initiative. Based on our preliminary study, the primary target audience of this program includes children at the kindergarten and elementary school levels. To enhance their engagement and participation, we have adopted the field trip method as our key strategy. This method has proven to effectively increase children's enthusiasm and has received a positive response from the local community, particularly from parents. This initiative is also supported by various community stakeholders, including village authorities, the Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK), and the Gesang Village Youth Organization (Karang Taruna), all of whom are committed to fostering a culture of literacy from an early age to ensure a brighter future for the next generation.
