This study is driven by the researcher’s interest in exploring the various forms of expressive speech acts that appear in the movie “Budi Pekerti.” The primary objective of this research is to identify the types of expressive speech acts performed by the characters in the film. Data were collected using observation and note-taking methods, specifically the free listening approach (simak bebas libat cakap, SBLC) and recording techniques. The analysis was conducted using a pragmatic framework, focusing on dialogue excerpts from the film’s characters. The findings reveal that the characters utilize seven types of expressive speech acts: expressing gratitude, giving praise, apologizing, criticizing, complaining, insinuating, and blaming. This study demonstrates that the expressive speech acts in “Budi Pekerti” are closely tied to the social and cultural context of the story. Each type of expressive speech act conveys functions and meanings that reflect the characters’ emotions and attitudes in specific situations. Overall, this research contributes to a better understanding of how expressive speech acts are used in film media and serves as a reference for future studies related to language use in diverse social and cultural contexts.

This study aims to examine and analyze how the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) impacts employee performance improvement at Chatter Lounge Restaurant, Gumaya Tower Semarang. The background of this research stems from initial observations and interviews that revealed inconsistencies in SOP implementation, particularly in aspects of grooming and staff attitudes toward guests. A qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach was employed to gain a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four key informants, direct observations of operational activities, and digital documentation related to SOP practices. The data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes three main stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that SOP implementation positively contributes to enhancing employee discipline, time efficiency, and accuracy in following service procedures, leading to a more standardized service quality. Nevertheless, the implementation is not yet fully optimal as several employees lack a comprehensive understanding of SOP content. Inhibiting factors include limited advanced training opportunities, one-way briefings that restrict interactive communication, and the absence of a performance-based reward system to motivate staff. The study highlights that while SOPs serve as a crucial guideline to improve consistency and professionalism, their effectiveness depends heavily on continuous reinforcement and employee engagement. Therefore, it is recommended that the restaurant management strengthen SOP implementation through ongoing training, more participatory internal communication, and the establishment of performance-based reward mechanisms to maximize employee motivation, ensure service excellence, and ultimately enhance guest satisfaction.

Elementary education is the fundamental stage in shaping students’ character, attitudes, and learning motivation. Learning interest plays a vital role in determining students’ success in understanding and mastering the lessons. However, differences in background, abilities, and learning styles often cause significant variations in students’ interest. Therefore, it is necessary to apply an analytical method that can group students based on their level of learning interest so that teachers can provide appropriate learning strategies. This study aims to implement the K-Means Clustering algorithm to identify the learning interest of students at Sekolah Dasar Negeri Puu Naga. The research method used is a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires consisting of several indicators of learning interest, such as perseverance in completing assignments, enthusiasm during lessons, attention to teacher explanations, and participation in class activities. The collected data were then analyzed using the K-Means algorithm to form several clusters of learning interest. The data processing stages included determining the number of clusters, selecting the initial centroid, calculating the distance of data to the centroid, grouping data, and iterating until a stable clustering result was achieved. The results of the study show that the K-Means algorithm successfully grouped students into three main categories, namely high, medium, and low learning interest. Students in the high-interest group consistently demonstrated active learning behavior and strong intrinsic motivation, while those in the medium group showed fluctuating interest influenced by external factors such as the learning environment and teaching methods. Meanwhile, students in the low-interest group displayed a lack of attention and motivation, thus requiring special interventions. These findings provide valuable insights for the school, especially teachers, in designing adaptive and personalized teaching strategies. In conclusion, the application of the K-Means algorithm is proven effective as an analytical tool to identify students’ learning interest.

The boycott of companies suspected of having ties to Israel has drawn public attention, including Unilever. This research was motivated by the need to understand how Unilever, impacted by the boycott, is attempting to restore its reputation in the eyes of the public. Specifically, this research aims to analyze how the people of Serang City respond to these efforts amidst the turmoil of this sensitive issue. The study used a quantitative approach based on the S-O-R (Stimulus-Organism-Response) theory. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 400 respondents in Serang City. The main focus of the analysis was on three Unilever strategies: a statement of non-involvement in the genocide, providing aid to refugees in Egypt, and offering product discounts at local retailers. The S-O-R theory was used to observe how the company's communication stimuli generate psychological responses and public attitudes toward brand reputation. The study results showed that 68.12% of respondents responded positively to Unilever's efforts, although this figure only slightly exceeded the minimum threshold set in the hypothesis. The majority of the public is more familiar with discount efforts than humanitarian aid or official clarification. Therefore, information transparency and strengthened crisis management need to be optimized to clarify Unilever's position and sustainably strengthen the company's reputation amidst sensitive social and political issues.

Patriarchy in the modern era still persists despite continuous efforts to achieve gender equality across various aspects of life, including education, the workplace, and social interactions. Its presence is often reinforced through mass media, particularly in television series. The drama series “Bid’ah” vividly portrays the impact of patriarchy on women’s lives, both in domestic settings and in the public sphere. This study aims to examine the extent to which exposure to the series “Bid’ah” influences viewers’ perceptions of patriarchy. This research employed a quantitative approach involving 100 undergraduate students from the Communication Science program at Universitas Bina Bangsa. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, where participants were selected based on specific criteria relevant to the research objectives. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using a four-point Likert scale to measure the respondents’ perceptions. The data were then analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS software. The findings indicate a significant influence between exposure to the series and viewers’ perceptions of patriarchy. This is evidenced by a correlation coefficient of 0.405 (p-value 0.000) and a coefficient of determination of 0.164. These results suggest that 16.4% of the variance in perceptions of patriarchy can be explained by exposure to the “Bid’ah” series, while 83.6% is influenced by other factors beyond this study. These findings highlight the important role of media in shaping social perceptions, particularly regarding gender norms and patriarchal values. This study contributes to the understanding of how media, especially television dramas, can both reinforce and challenge gender stereotypes, while also providing insights into the potential influence of media content on audiences’ attitudes toward gender equality.

Introduction: Repurchase intention is one of the important indicators in the world of health services, especially in hospitals. XYZ General Hospital must evaluate the services provided to patients by understanding patient perceptions, particularly through patient experience, as 50% of respondents expressed unwillingness to recommend or reuse the hospital’s services. This highlights a potential gap between service delivery and patient expectations. Method The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of patient experience, brand image, and trust on repurchase intention at XYZ Hospital, with attitude as an intervening variable. This study employed a quantitative explanatory research design, involving 182 patients from outpatient and inpatient units who had visited more than once. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the Partial Least Square (PLS) method, supported by the SmartPLS software. Results: The results revealed that patient experience, brand image, and trust significantly affect patient attitudes, which in turn directly influence repurchase intention. Attitude serves as a mediating variable between patient experiences, brand image, trust, and repurchase intention. Simultaneous testing confirmed that all independent variables have a joint effect on repurchase intention. Among the variables tested, attitude showed the strongest direct influence on repurchase intention, while patient experience had the highest indirect effect through attitude. Conclusion: These findings underscore the critical role of patient experience in shaping positive perceptions of service quality, which contribute to strengthening brand image, increasing trust, and fostering patient attitudes that support future service utilization. Therefore, healthcare providers must prioritize improving communication, staff responsiveness, and patient-centered care to enhance overall experience, build loyalty, and ensure long-term sustainability of healthcare services.

Modern Islamic boarding schools not only focus on religious education, but are also required to improve the academic quality of students, including in mathematics subjects which are often challenging due to differences in students' learning styles, motivations, and abilities. This study aims to design and implement a Decision Support Sistem (DSS) based on the VIKOR method to analyze students' mathematical understanding and provide recommendations for more adaptive learning strategies. The study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data obtained through documentation of students' grades, as well as interviews with mathematics teachers. The VIKOR method is used to evaluate students' understanding based on five main criteria, namely exam scores, report card scores, attendance, attitudes and behavior, and skills, through a process of normalization, weighting, calculation of S, R, and Q scores, and ranking students. The results show that there are five students with the lowest level of mathematical understanding, namely A11, A4, A17, A1, and A12, who have the lowest VIKOR index scores. This low level of understanding is influenced by factors such as learning attitudes, attendance, report card scores, and skills, so they require further attention and guidance from teachers. The application of the VIKOR method in SPK has proven effective in optimizing the analysis of students' mathematics achievements and providing recommendations for more targeted personal learning strategies, thereby helping to improve the quality of education and maximize students' academic potential.
