 The Community Service Program (PKM) was implemented with the primary objective of improving the motivation and skills of Global International School high school students in managing independent business units established within the school environment. This activity was designed as a practice-based entrepreneurial development effort, especially for students directly involved in school business activities. The program was implemented through a series of training sessions covering entrepreneurial motivation, digital and conventional marketing strategies, and sales practice simulations. The motivation training aimed to build an independent and resilient mindset in facing business challenges, while the promotional strategy training emphasized the importance of branding, the use of social media, and effective communication with consumers. During the implementation process, students were encouraged to actively participate, be creative, and directly apply the material learned through simulations and group discussions. Evaluation results showed that this activity successfully increased the enthusiasm and confidence of students in running their own businesses. They also began to understand the basic concepts of branding, targeted promotional strategies, and the importance of building relationships with consumers. The enthusiasm of the participants was very high, especially during the promotional and direct sales practice. Overall, this PKM activity had a positive impact on students' mental and technical readiness to face the business world. This program also has the potential to be further developed as the basis for a practice-based entrepreneurship curriculum, as well as a medium for character building, creativity, and student independence at the secondary education level.

This literature review aims to explore the transformation of community-based emergency response systems in the digital era, with a focus on technological innovation, social preparedness, and adaptive intervention models. Using a systematic review approach, 38 articles published between 2019 and 2024 were analyzed from databases such as Scopus, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. The findings indicate that digital applications, AI-based early warning systems, and virtual reality-based emergency training have significantly enhanced community responsiveness. Moreover, social factors such as local leadership, solidarity, and participatory simulation play a vital role in strengthening adaptive capacity. This review proposes an integrative socio-technical model that combines digital tools with community participation to improve preparedness and resilience. The implications suggest the need for inclusive and sustainable community disaster response frameworks supported by policy and cross-sectoral collaboration.

Air circulation and natural lighting are among the key aspects influencing the comfort of room usage, particularly in dormitory buildings inhabited by university students. This study aims to explore thermal comfort more deeply, focusing on air circulation and natural lighting within student dormitory rooms in the Riau Islands. A qualitative method was employed, collecting up-to-date data on the selected building. Building simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and DIALux were conducted to analyze the speed of air circulation and the quality of natural lighting within the rooms. The results reveal that prior to evaluation, the dormitory rooms faced thermal issues related to poor air circulation and insufficient natural lighting. Wind speed was recorded at less than 2 m/s, and the incoming and outgoing airflow collided due to the presence of only one ventilation access. The evaluation using cross-ventilation through room openings showed a positive impact on indoor air circulation, increasing wind speeds to 2–4 m/s. The cross-ventilation concept also enhanced the discharge and exchange of indoor air, preventing air stagnation. In terms of natural lighting, the simulation showed that lighting intensity in several rooms was below the minimum standard of 250 lux, particularly in areas far from the window openings. After modifications to the window layout and the addition of secondary light-transmitting elements, the lighting level significantly improved to meet the recommended standard. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating both passive ventilation and natural lighting strategies in student dormitory designs. Improving these environmental aspects not only enhances thermal comfort but also supports the health, productivity, and well-being of the residents. This study contributes to the growing body of research on sustainable dormitory design and can be used as a reference for future architectural planning and policy improvements.

Gorontalo Province is an area with a high level of disaster vulnerability, both from hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides, as well as geological disasters such as earthquakes. This condition requires an integrated, modern, and sustainable disaster training facility. Unfortunately, until now Gorontalo does not have a representative disaster management education and training center to support community preparedness. This research aims to design a Disaster Management Education and Training Center that not only functions as an education and simulation place, but also integrates green architecture principles to create an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient learning environment. The method used is qualitative descriptive with primary data collection through observation, interviews with stakeholders, and field documentation. Secondary data were obtained from literature studies, disaster architectural precedents, and spatial planning regulatory studies. The design site was chosen in Limboto District with considerations of accessibility, development potential, and geographical conditions. Analysis is carried out on spatial, functional, and climatological aspects to produce an optimal zoning concept and the orientation of building masses according to the tropical climate. The design results show that an area of 19,371 m² can accommodate all space needs with the utilization of KDB of 25.4%. The application of green architecture is realized through the use of environmentally friendly local materials, natural lighting, cross ventilation, solar panels, and rainwater management systems. The simulation facilities for floods, landslides, earthquakes, and fires are designed based on experiential learning so that participants can experience disaster scenarios firsthand. This design is expected to be a model of sustainable tropical disaster architecture, replicate in other disaster-prone areas, and encourage the creation of a disaster-aware culture. This research also opens up further research opportunities related to energy performance evaluation and the application of digital technology in disaster education.

Publikasi Hasil Pengabdian dan Kegiatan Masyarakat 2025 Asosiasi Periset Bahasa Sastra Indonesia

As shipping activities through various modes of transportation increase, the need for adequate understanding of dangerous goods is becoming increasingly important, especially among the younger generation. Unfortunately, many students still do not understand the classification and risks associated with transporting these goods. This community service activity aims to increase awareness and understanding of high school students in the Philippines regarding the classification of dangerous goods and the importance of safety in the shipping process. The activity was carried out through an interactive outreach method that included visual presentations, case studies, and simple simulations to make the material easier to understand and apply. The material provided refers to international standards, namely the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and ICAO Technical Instructions (ICAO-TI), which are important references in the classification and handling of dangerous goods globally. Evaluation was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests to measure the level of student understanding before and after the activity. The results showed a significant increase in students' ability to recognize symbols, types of dangerous goods, and initial actions to be taken when faced with these goods. These findings confirm that the right educational approach can increase early awareness among students as potential actors in the logistics chain. It is hoped that similar programs can be implemented widely and sustainably in various educational institutions to minimize the risk of sending dangerous goods due to a lack of public knowledge.

This community service activity was carried out as an effort to improve the effectiveness of reporting and withholding of Income Tax (PPh) Article 21 at the Kosayu Credit Cooperative through accounting-based technical assistance. The main problem identified during the Field Work Practice (PKL) activity was the potential for tax overpayments caused by inaccurate estimates of employee annual income and limitations of the payroll system used by the cooperative. To address these problems, the implementation team implemented several methods, namely direct observation of the tax administration process, technical training for related staff, tax calculation simulations based on actual data, and evaluation of the existing tax recording and reporting system. The results of the activity showed that although the cooperative had used the Average Effective Rate (TER) method for withholding PPh 21, its implementation was still not optimal because it was not supported by an integrated information system and a regularly updated employee database. This resulted in inaccuracies in tax calculations and withholding. Therefore, this assistance recommended several improvements, including updating the payroll system, improving employee data, integrating the digital tax reporting system, and increasing the capacity of the cooperative's human resources through ongoing training related to tax regulations. In addition to having a direct impact on the efficiency of cooperative tax management, this program also provides contextual learning benefits for students in linking tax accounting theory with real conditions in the field.

The Annual Members’ Meeting (Rapat Anggota Tahunan or RAT) is the highest forum in cooperatives, serving as a medium for the board’s accountability to members as well as a venue for strategic decision-making. KSP Kopdit Obor Mas, one of the largest cooperatives in Eastern Indonesia with more than 240,000 members and assets reaching IDR 7.8 trillion, faces several challenges in conducting RAT, including low member participation, the complexity of financial reports, and the demand for compliance with regulations and the cooperative’s Articles of Association/Bylaws. This community service activity aimed to assist the implementation of RAT to ensure greater transparency, participation, and accountability. The methods included coordination with the board and supervisory committee, preparation of mentoring modules, socialization, simplification of financial reports, RAT simulations, and forum evaluation. The results show increased member participation, more accessible financial reporting, and a better-organized RAT conducted in accordance with regulations. The discussion highlights that mentoring activities strengthen Good Cooperative Governance and improve cooperative management practices. Thus, this activity contributes to enhancing institutional capacity and can serve as a model for sustainable cooperative development in other regions.

This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of administrators and financial staff of Al-Musyaffa' Kendal Islamic Boarding School in preparing financial reports in accordance with basic accounting principles. Many Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia do not have a standardized financial recording and reporting system, even though financial transparency and accountability are very important in the governance of religious-based educational institutions. Activities are carried out through intensive mentoring, theoretical and practical training, and simulation of financial report preparation. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding and technical ability in recording, categorizing, and compiling systematic financial reports. This activity is expected to be the first step towards more professional and accountable financial management.

Accelerated technological progress has profoundly altered our lifestyles. The younger generation, as future leaders of the nation, must acquire digital skills to keep pace with technological progress. Adolescents of school age require essential instruction on digital literacy, especially with personal data management and academic requirements. Effective data management will enhance lifestyle efficiency and efficacy. This community service initiative sought to impart database administration proficiency through the financial accounting cycle framework to students at SMK Raudlatul Husna in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. Thirty-two students engaged in the seminar and simulation activities. The activity was conducted through lectures and class tutorials on data storage methodologies in digital technologies, including Google Drive, Wordpress Web and Instagram. At the conclusion of the session, participants were queried regarding the activity summary, and the majority responded accurately and effectively. This activity is anticipated to be sustained continuously, enabling high school students to acquire both theoretical and practical information applicable to their daily lives.

One method of drying Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae that can be applied is drying using a continuous microwave oven. This tool utilizes microwaves emitted to evaporate water. In addition, the use of a conveyor that runs on a microwave oven as a medium or place to place BSF larvae is expected to simplify the production process. This study was conducted to determine the design and strength analysis of the thermal structure of a continuous microwave oven-type BSF larva dryer using Solidworks software. The specifications of the continuous microwave oven-type BSF larva dryer have a capacity of 15 kg, a heating input power of 8 KW and a temperature of 100℃. With variations in heating time of 20, 30, and 40 minutes. The results of the thermal structure analysis of the BSF larva dryer type continuous microwave oven based on the simulation obtained stress with the highest value of  and the lowest value of . The results of the displacement simulation with the highest value of  and the lowest value of . The Safety factor simulation result is 3.2. So from the simulation results it can be said that it is safe to continue to the manufacturing process.

The rapid development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the healthcare system, notably through the integration of health informatics. However, awareness and understanding of this field among high school students remain limited. This community service project aimed to promote digital health literacy by introducing health informatics to students at Madrasah Aliyah Al Manar Medan. Using an educational-participatory approach, the activities involved interactive presentations, group discussions, and hands-on simulations of digital health applications. The results indicated a substantial increase in students' knowledge and interest in health technology, with many demonstrating enthusiasm for future careers in health informatics. The program also fostered critical awareness regarding the use of technology in healthcare, highlighting the role of young people in supporting digital transformation in health services. Furthermore, the emergence of active student facilitators during the simulation sessions illustrates the development of local leadership potential. These findings suggest that early digital health education using participatory methods can be an effective strategy to nurture digital competence and social responsibility among youth.

Engine overheating is a critical condition that can cause damage to internal components, reduce operational efficiency, and lead to overall system failure. The absence of an automatic protection system is one of the primary factors contributing to damage. This study aims to design and test a temperature sensor-based safety device that can automatically cut off the engine's working system when the temperature exceeds the safe limit. The method used is descriptive statistical analysis to evaluate the effect of independent variables (operational time duration and workload) on the dependent variable (coolant temperature). The system was tested through water heating simulation using an electric heater and controlled by an Arduino Nano microcontroller, a MAX6675 temperature sensor. Testing was carried out with variations in power load (150, 300, 450, 600, and 750 Watts) and operational duration (20, 40, and 60 minutes). Temperature data were collected and analyzed using ANOVA to determine the effect of load and time on temperature increase. The results showed that the temperature increased significantly with increasing power load, with temperatures approaching 100°C at loads ≥450 Watts in less than 20 minutes. The load variable shows a significant effect on temperature (p < 0.05), while the duration of time shows a nonlinear but not statistically significant upward trend. The safety device is proven to be able to automatically disconnect the system when the temperature reaches the specified maximum limit, thus effectively preventing engine damage due to overheating.

Flywheel is an important element in the motor starter system due to its ability to store relase kinetic energy during the rotation process. This study aims to evaluate the effect of rotation speed variation and flywheel geometry shape on the kinetic energy produced, assuming the flywheel mass is fixed. The analysis is conducted through theoretical approach and numerical simulation using the rotational kinetic energy equation, with I as the moment of inertia that depends on the geometry shape,and as the angular velocity and shape of  the flywheel. The results show that the geometry shape greatly affects the moment of inertia, and at the same angular velocity, the flywheel with larger moment of inertia is able to store more kinetic energy. The conclusion of this study provides recommendations in the selection of the optimal flywheel design to improve the efficiency of the motor starter system.

This study aims to analyze the performance and conduct reverse engineering of the Francis Turbine runner at the Tanggari 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA Tanggari 1) through 3D scanning and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation. The main objective is to evaluate the turbine's efficiency and identify areas for improvement in the runner geometry. Data from the 3D scan are used to reconstruct a CAD model, which is then numerically tested to predict hydraulic performance. CFD simulations are carried out under various guide vane openings and head variations. The simulation results show a maximum efficiency of 93% at a head of 122.4 meters with a guide vane opening angle of 26° and a flow rate of 8.5 m³/s. The resulting performance curve and hill chart indicate the optimal operating point or Best Efficiency Point (BEP), which serves as a critical reference for turbine operation settings. Flow phenomena such as separation and vortex formation were detected under off-BEP operating conditions, potentially causing pressure fluctuations and vibrations. As a technical recommendation, it is advised to operate the turbine close to the BEP to minimize vibrations and energy losses. Furthermore, the runner geometry obtained from reverse engineering can serve as a basis for component refabrication and the development of new runner designs that are more adaptive to varying load conditions.

This community service activity aims to provide an understanding of maritime law to fishermen and coastal communities in Setokok Village, Bulang District, Batam City, specifically regarding the supervision of foreign vessels in Indonesian waters. The methods used were direct outreach with a participatory approach, group discussions, and case simulations. This activity involved 85 participants consisting of fishermen, community leaders, and village officials. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the rights and obligations of fishermen, procedures for reporting foreign vessels, and the importance of maintaining the sovereignty of Indonesian waters. This activity had a positive impact in the form of increased awareness of maritime law and community participation in monitoring water areas.

Indonesia is a country with a high disaster risk, particularly earthquakes. Schools play a strategic role in enhancing students' preparedness for disasters. This study aims to determine the effect of splint bandage simulation training on earthquake preparedness at SMAN 1 Kasihan Bantul. This quantitative study used a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 90 tenth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a preparedness questionnaire administered before and after the training, analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed an increase in preparedness from the "less prepared" category to "prepared" and "very prepared" after the training, with a significance value of 0.000. In conclusion, splint bandage simulation training significantly improves students’ earthquake preparedness. Future research is suggested to use animated videos as a more interactive intervention method.

This practicum aims to understand the process of volcanic eruptions through a simple chemical reaction simulation between baking soda and vinegar. This reaction produces carbon dioxide gas that pushes the mixture out of the bottle, resembling magma eruption from a volcanic crater. The activity was carried out using simple materials such as used plastic bottles, aluminum foil, and common household items. The procedure involved shaping a volcano using aluminum foil around the bottle, then adding baking soda, dish soap, food coloring, and vinegar as the reaction trigger. Observations showed that after the vinegar was poured into the bottle, a foamy red/orange eruption occurred, mimicking lava spewing from a volcanic crater. This simulation demonstrates that the combination of an acid (vinegar) and a base (baking soda) produces carbon dioxide gas, which forces the mixture outward in a dramatic manner. This practicum not only helps students concretely understand scientific concepts but also enhances their observation, critical thinking, and scientific communication skills through simple experimental activities.

The coastal area of Manado City, particularly the estuary of the Bailang River in Bunaken District, frequently experiences inundation due to the complex interaction between river discharge and tidal fluctuations. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution and extent of flooding resulting from the combination of river discharge and tides, as well as to evaluate mitigation strategies based on numerical modeling results. A two-dimensional hydrodynamic model was developed using MIKE 21 Flow Model FM HD, utilizing topographic and bathymetric data from DEMNAS and BATNAS, along with 2023 river discharge and tidal data. Simulations were conducted for existing conditions, minimum discharge with maximum tide, and maximum discharge with maximum tide. The results show that tidal influence significantly contributes to the increase in flood extent and duration, especially when high river discharge coincides with peak tidal conditions. The most affected areas are Kelurahan Molas and Tumumpa, located along the riverbanks and near the fish auction port, with inundation covering up to 4.973 hectares and water depths exceeding 0.5 meters. Recommended mitigation strategies include river normalization and the implementation of a real-time hydrodynamic early warning system. This study supports flood risk management and coastal spatial planning, serving as a technical reference for local government policy-making.

The low proportion of Grade A harvest quality in Hokkaido corn farming remains a challenge for horticultural agribusiness practitioners. This study aims to develop an operational strategy based on a managerial evaluation of key production factors to improve technical efficiency and harvest quality. The research was conducted at PT Agricole Indonesia Makmur, Cianjur, using data from 24 planting periods in 2024. Six production input variables were analyzed to identify the most influential factors on yield quantity and quality. The results show that only three variables watering frequency, organic fertilizer, and plant age at harvest consistently contributed significantly to the production of Grade A output. Although these variables are inelastic, they play a critical role in maintaining quality. The proposed strategy includes a 10% increase in harvest quantity and a 30% conversion from Grade B to Grade A. Simulation results indicate an additional 7.67 kg of Grade A yield per planting period, generating a value increase of IDR 239,490. The strategy is considered feasible with a positive Return on Investment (ROI) of 14.04% assuming a Grade A selling price of IDR 35,000/kg.

Sewing workers at CV Cahaya Setia Mulia Abadi perform static and repetitive tasks, such as prolonged sitting in a bent posture and continuous sewing movements. These conditions lead to various physical complaints, including back pain (78%), lower neck pain (75%), upper neck discomfort (73%), as well as shoulder fatigue, wrist tingling, and lower back stiffness. This research is conducted to evaluate the potential risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) through the application of the Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method, determine the body parts most frequently affected using the Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire, and develop posture correction strategies based on anthropometric measurements.The REBA results indicate that most sewing activities fall into the medium-risk category (score 5–7), with some in the high-risk category (score 8). The intervention involved adjusting chair dimensions based on anthropometry, and adding seat cushions and backrests. After the simulation of improvements, the REBA score decreased to 2, placing it in the low-risk category. These findings demonstrate that ergonomic chair design and proper working posture significantly reduce physical strain, increase comfort, and help maintain worker productivity. This study offers practical recommendations for creating a healthier and safer work environment in the manufacturing sector.
