Gender discrimination is a serious problem that is often experienced by adolescents in social and educational environments. Feminist counseling techniques are present as an alternative approach that emphasizes equality, empowerment, and validation of client experiences, especially women. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying feminist counseling techniques in helping adolescents face and overcome the impact of gender discrimination. The method used is a descriptive qualitative study with a case study approach on several adolescents and school counselors. The results showed that techniques such as self-disclosure, reframing, and self-empowerment were effective in increasing adolescents' self-confidence, critical awareness, and courage in voicing gender injustice. The main obstacles in implementing these techniques are the counselors' lack of understanding of feminist principles and limited counseling time in schools. Therefore, training and institutional support are needed to optimize this approach.

Adolescence is a critical phase in individual development, especially for adolescent girls who begin to experience menstruation as a sign of reproductive maturity. However, not all adolescents experience menstruation normally; some experience disorders such as menstrual pain, irregular cycles, and prolonged bleeding. This study aims to explore in depth the subjective experiences of adolescent girls with menstrual disorders at SMP Negeri 2 Bunta, Banggai Regency, focusing on the nature of the disorders experienced, their interpretation of these experiences, coping strategies, and the social support received. This study employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The primary informants were female adolescents in grades VII–IX who had experienced menstrual disorders in the past six months, selected purposively until data saturation was achieved. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, non-participatory observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that menstrual disorders are viewed as normal by most informants, despite causing physical discomfort and psychological anxiety. Adolescents' responses to these disorders vary, ranging from the use of warm compresses and medication to no intervention at all. The primary sources of information are mothers and social media, while the roles of teachers and schools remain limited. Social support is most commonly provided by family, although some adolescents also feel supported by peers and teachers. This study emphasizes the importance of systematic reproductive health education, school involvement in supporting adolescents, and the creation of safe and stigma-free discussion spaces regarding menstruation-related issues.

The habit of smoking and using e-cigarettes (vape) among adolescents in Indonesia shows a significant increasing trend. This study aims to conduct a systematic review of various factors that influence dependence on cigarettes and vapes in adolescents, by analyzing 30 national scientific articles. The results of the review revealed that the dominant factors contributing to this behavior include the influence of the friendship environment, permissive parental attitudes, lack of knowledge, psychological pressure, and exposure to the media. In addition, education was found to be an effective strategy in increasing understanding and reducing smoking intentions. This behavior is also driven by the mistaken view that vaping is considered safer than regular cigarettes. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to examine the impact of social media on the honesty of teenagers toward their parents in Stabat Lama Barat Village. The aim of this research is to describe the extent to which the use of social media influences teenagers’ honest behavior in communication and interaction with their parents. In an increasingly advanced digital era, social media is not only a source of entertainment but also has a significant influence on character development and moral values, including honesty. The results show that some teenagers tend to hide their social media activities from their parents, either due to privacy concerns, fear of being scolded, or the desire to create a certain image online. This behavior leads to reduced openness and honesty in their daily lives. However, there are also teenagers who are able to use social media wisely while upholding honesty within the family. Factors such as moral education at home, parenting styles, and social environment play an important role in shaping honest attitudes among teenagers despite the rapid growth of digitalization.

Anemia is a common nutritional problem that occurs in vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and teenage girls. One of its main causes is iron deficiency, which can be exacerbated by low vitamin C intake. Red guava (Psidium guajava L.) is a local fruit that is rich in vitamin C and has the potential to improve iron absorption, thus supporting an increase in hemoglobin levels. This study aims to review the effectiveness of red guava in increasing hemoglobin as an effort to prevent anemia. This study uses a literature review design on five experimental research articles published in the last 10 years. The study results show that the consumption of red guava, whether consumed alone or in combination, can significantly increase hemoglobin levels in pregnant women and adolescent girls with anemia. The vitamin C content in red guava plays a role in enhancing the bioavailability of iron needed for hemoglobin formation. Thus, red guava has the potential to be used as part of a locally based food nutrition intervention that is effective, affordable, and applicable in the effort to prevent anemia.

Background: Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a combination of physical, emotional, and behavioral symptoms that occur cyclically before menstruation and are commonly experienced by adolescent girls. Common symptoms include fatigue, abdominal pain, headaches, anxiety, and mood disturbances, which can affect sleep quality, concentration, and academic productivity. This article provides an in-depth examination of the definition, types, prevalence, causes, impacts, and management of PMS in adolescent girls. Based on epidemiological data, the prevalence of PMS is quite high, both globally and nationally, with incidence rates in Indonesia reaching 70–90% among women of reproductive age, and most cases beginning during adolescence. There are four main types of PMS: Type A (anxiety), Type H (hyperhidrosis), Type C (food cravings), and Type D (depression), each with specific characteristics and etiologies. Causes of PMS include hormonal imbalances of estrogen and progesterone, reduced serotonin levels, poor sleep quality, psychological stress, genetic factors, and unhealthy lifestyles. The impact of PMS on adolescents is complex, including decreased academic performance, social relationship disturbances, and reduced psychological well-being. Therefore, PMS management should be approached holistically through pharmacological (such as NSAIDs, antidepressants, and diuretics) and non-pharmacological (physical exercise, relaxation, lifestyle changes, and nutritional education) interventions. Environmental support and reproductive health education are crucial to help adolescents effectively manage PMS symptoms and improve their quality of life. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for promotive and preventive interventions in adolescent health care.

The mental state of young people is a crucial issue which has a major effect on the level of life and progress of next generation in Indonesia. This research seeks to explore the aspects that influence young people's mental state through a review of 30 scientific papers published between 2015 and 2024. The findings of the analysis show that young people's mental state is influenced by a variety of internal elements, such as emotion regulation, religious beliefs and gratitude, as well as external factors such as family circumstances, support from friends, neighbourhood environment, social media habits and experiences of being bullied. Excessive use of social media and being a victim of bullying were found to increase the potential for mental problems, such as anxiety, depression and mental distress. In contrast, support from family and friends, as well as a community-based education intervention agenda, play an important role in strengthening adolescents' psychological resilience. This research underscores the urgency of a comprehensive collaborative approach involving many parties, including families, educational institutions, the wider community, and the government, to sustainably improve the mental health of adolescents in Indonesia.

The purpose of this community service is for teenagers and the community to recognize early on the signs of people with HIV and AIDS and to stay away from promiscuity which is one of the causes of the increase in HIV and AIDS. The implementation method is carried out by educating teenagers at the high school level aged 15-19 years and the community in Sannggaria Village. The implementation of education is carried out by providing lectures and video presentations explaining early sexual education. The results of the implementation of early sexual education for teenagers showed that 30 teenagers and 20 parents participated in the activity. The results of the knowledge evaluation showed that 90.75% of teenagers understood the material given. There are still teenagers who lack of understanding because in the middle of the process there were obstacles in absorbing information because the teenager had to attend other activities.
