This study aims to analyze the representation of the Palestinian genocide through photographic works uploaded by @Motaz_Azaiza on Instagram. Using a qualitative method with Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics approach, this research focuses on analyzing visual elements such as gestures, scenes, colors, and social contexts in eight selected photos. The findings reveal that Motaz Azaiza's photographs effectively represent the impacts of the Palestinian genocide, both physically and emotionally, through visual symbolism such as ruined buildings, victims' expressions, and social narratives. As a medium of visual communication, these works not only document events but also serve as advocacy tools to raise global awareness, foster empathy, and encourage tangible actions toward humanitarian issues. By utilizing Instagram, these photos reach a broader audience, demonstrating how photojournalism can act as an effective medium in strengthening global solidarity for humanitarian tragedies. This study provides insight into the crucial role of conflict visualization in creating narratives relevant to the social media era.

The Prophet Muhammad’s da’wah was not limited to religious preaching but also included a diplomatic dimension through the use of effective communication strategies. One of the pivotal moments was the Aqabah Pledge, where the Prophet reached an agreement with the Aus and Khazraj tribes of Medina. This study aims to analyze the communication of the Prophet’s da’wah during this event through the perspective of Social Penetration Theory. The research employs a qualitative method with a historical literature study approach, drawing on both primary and secondary sources to examine the stages of social penetration: orientation alignment, affective exploration exchange, affective commitment exchange, and stable exchange. The findings reveal that the Prophet’s communication effectively fostered a profound bond of trust, leading the Medinan tribes to pledge full protection and commitment to the struggle of Islamic da’wah. The exploration of communication between both parties gradually developed into mutual openness, with each side recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of the other. This process fostered deeper understanding and progressed to affective exchange, where trust, care, and commitment became mutual values. The sincerity of this bond was demonstrated by the Ansar companions, who welcomed the Muhajirin by providing shelter, food, clothing, and even offering marriage opportunities. Ultimately, this culminated in the second Aqabah Pledge, which reflected the seriousness of the Aus and Khazraj in supporting the Prophet’s mission. The study underscores the significance of interpersonal communication based on openness, trust, and commitment as a foundation for building social solidarity and as a model for cross-cultural da’wah communication in broader social contexts

Football is far more than a game; it is a cultural language that brings people together across nations and generations. In Indonesia, this passion for football extends beyond domestic leagues, where local supporters also form strong communities around international clubs. One of these is the Chelsea Indonesia Supporters Club (CISC) Bekasi Region, a collective of Chelsea FC fans who not only share admiration for the team but also nurture social bonds and a sense of belonging within their community. This paper offers a conceptual exploration of how cohesiveness among members of CISC Bekasi contributes to the creation of a positive community image. Building on ideas from scholars such as Mulyana (2016), Collins and Raven (in Arifuddin, 2016), and Muniz and O’Guinn (in Ratnawati & Lestari, 2018), the discussion focuses on the role of group communication in fostering solidarity and collective identity. Within the group, communication is not limited to exchanging information but also functions as a medium for emotional support, shared values, and moral responsibility. The argument put forward is that effective communication and social cohesion can transform a fan club into a respected social group that embodies unity and positive representation. The experience of CISC Bekasi illustrates how sports enthusiasm, when supported by strong interpersonal ties, can encourage inclusive participation and strengthen the public image of football supporter communities in Indonesia.

The institution of marriage in Indonesia has long been considered a social and moral milestone. However, in the digital era, shifting gender roles and the rise of social media have significantly transformed how young women perceive marriage. This study aims to explore the perceptions of early adult women (aged 18–25) toward the #MarriageIsScary narrative on TikTok, focusing on content from the account @bobahagia19. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using interviews, observations, and content analysis of selected TikTok videos. The findings reveal that the #MarriageIsScary trend represents a collective expression of emotional anxiety, self-awareness, and social critique of traditional marriage norms. Participants perceived marriage as an uncertain institution, often associated with emotional instability, betrayal, and loss of autonomy. Yet, the same discourse also fostered empowerment and solidarity among women, forming what scholars describe as digital sisterhood. The discussion integrates sociological and media theories (Giddens, 1992; Papacharissi, 2015; Banet-Weiser, 2018) to illustrate how digital narratives both reflect and reshape cultural meanings of marriage in contemporary Indonesia. Overall, the study concludes that TikTok functions as a participatory space where young women redefine marital expectations through shared emotions, storytelling, and online community engagement.

The Qur'an as the final revelation revealed by Allah SWT has a very central role in shaping the teachings and lives of Muslims. One of the most important aspects of the teachings of the Qur'an is the unity of the people, which can be a foundation in maintaining harmony and solidarity amidst existing differences. The virtues contained in the Qur'an, such as teachings on justice, tolerance, brotherhood, and compassion, provide clear direction for Muslims to unite and work together for the common good. However, amid the diversity of schools of thought, ethnicities, and thoughts in Muslims, it is important to re-explore the basic principles of the Qur'an that can strengthen relations between fellow Muslims. This study aims to explore the virtues of the Qur'an that can be the foundation of teachings that unite Muslims. This study also seeks to understand how these values are applied in the context of the social and cultural life of Muslims, both in the past and in the contemporary era. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, with a thematic interpretation approach to analyze the verses of the Qur'an related to the unity of the people, as well as a study of the hadith to explore the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW regarding the unity of the Muslim community. In addition, this study also uses a historical and socio-cultural approach to understand the application of the teachings of the Qur'an in Muslim society from time to time. The results of the study show that the virtues of the Qur'an, such as teachings on brotherhood, justice, and tolerance, have a very important role in strengthening the unity of Muslims, even though there are differences in terms of schools of thought, culture, and views. The Qur'an provides clear guidelines that differences are not a reason to divide, but rather a blessing that enriches the diversity of Muslims. By exploring and applying the teachings of the Qur'an, Muslims are expected to be able to better maintain unity and harmony in facing the challenges of the increasingly plural and complex modern era.

The coastal area in Aeng Batu-Batu Village, Galesong, Takalar Regency is one of the areas whose lives depend on marine products, especially on seaweed cultivation as their main livelihood. However, due to the sea mining activities that began in the area since 2017 to meet the needs of infrastructure projects on the Center Point of Indonesia (CPI) reclamation island, it has had a significant impact on the social life of the local community, a change in income that has decreased from seaweed cultivation which has finally made fishermen switch to looking for other marine biota such as crabs and squid. In the context of social dynamics that occur as a result of mining, it has made changes in the daily activities of the local community, especially in the search for income. In this case, the solidarity of the local community is also an important factor in changing habits that occur after sand mining occurs.
