Oral and dental health problems among elementary school children remain relatively high, particularly dental caries, which is influenced by low levels of knowledge and inadequate toothbrushing skills. Children aged 6–12 years are in the mixed dentition phase and therefore require special attention in maintaining oral hygiene. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and toothbrushing skills of elementary school students through a demonstration method using a dental phantom model. The activity was conducted at SD Inpres Maccini Sombala I in January 2026 and involved elementary school students as participants. The methods applied included oral health education, demonstration of proper toothbrushing techniques using a dental phantom, mass toothbrushing practice, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test as well as direct observation. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of the correct timing, frequency, and technique of toothbrushing, namely brushing twice a day after breakfast and before bedtime. In addition, students were able to practice proper toothbrushing techniques more effectively after the demonstration. The use of a dental phantom as an educational medium proved to be effective in increasing students’ interest, understanding, and toothbrushing skills. This activity is expected to help establish good toothbrushing habits from an early age and support promotive and preventive efforts to reduce the prevalence of dental caries among elementary school children.

Losing a father, whether through death or divorce, is a significant life event that can impact adolescents' psychological well-being, one of which is feelings of loneliness. Fathers play a crucial role in a child's emotional and social development, and their absence can trigger feelings of isolation or a lack of social connection. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in levels of loneliness between male and female adolescents who have lost their fathers. This study used a quantitative approach with a comparative method. The subjects in this study were 152 adolescents, consisting of 96 female adolescents and 56 male adolescents who had lost their fathers. Data were collected using a loneliness scale structured according to aspects of loneliness. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis was an Independent Sample T-Test. The results of the data analysis showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.105 (p > 0.05). This indicates that the hypothesis stating differences in levels of loneliness is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that there are no significant differences in loneliness experienced by male and female adolescents who have lost their fathers. Both gender groups showed relatively similar levels of loneliness in response to the loss of a father.   The results of the data analysis showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.105 (p > 0.05). This study aims to analyze the stages, impacts, and supporting and inhibiting factors of social intervention for child victims of sexual violence at the “Handayani” Center, East Jakarta. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach to obtain an in-depth understanding of the intervention process. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the “Handayani” Center applies the Generalist Intervention Model (GIM) through seven stages: engagement, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, termination, and follow-up. The social intervention has a positive impact on children, particularly in improving emotional stability, self-confidence, and social functioning. Furthermore, the intervention supports children’s readiness for social reintegration. Supporting factors include the professionalism of social workers and effective team collaboration, while inhibiting factors consist of high workload, delays in administrative reporting, and limited family support.

Data from the 2020 LFSP (Long Form Population Census) recorded a maternal mortality ratio of 189 per 100,000 live births, while the infant mortality rate was recorded at 16.85 per 1,000 live births. The causes of maternal mortality were hemorrhage, preeclampsia/eclampsia, infection, prolonged labor, and miscarriage. Meanwhile, the majority of infant deaths were due to low birth weight, asphyxia, and infection at birth. Stunting remains a particular concern in Tegal City. Various measures have been taken, and the stunting rate has decreased to around 13.8% according to data from early 2025. This PKM is expected to increase public knowledge on caring for pregnant women, women in labor, postpartum women, and newborns, as well as preventing stunting in children, thereby reducing maternal and infant mortality rates. The methods used in this activity include health education and outreach with a promotive and preventive approach, targeting pregnant women and mothers with infants and toddlers. Community service was held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Boegenvil Health Center in Cabawan Village, Tegal City, with 53 participants. The results of this activity showed an increase in the level of knowledge of the participants, from 11 people with a good level of knowledge to 41 people after receiving counseling, with 3 participants still having a low level of knowledge.

Health education at the elementary school level represents a long-term investment in developing a stronger and more capable generation. By fostering a proper understanding from an early age, children are expected to build a resilient defense against various health threats. This community service program aims to broaden the knowledge and awareness of students at SDN 054945 Dogang Village, Gebang District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, regarding Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (known as PHBS). As a promotive and preventive strategy, PHBS is essential to instill from childhood to cultivate healthy habits and prevent various health disorders. This study utilizes a qualitative approach, applying the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. The activity, conducted on July 20, 2024, involved 77 fourth and fifth-grade students and followed three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Socialization was carried out interactively through handwashing tutorial videos, physical exercises, PHBS-themed songs and rhythmic clapping, and Q&A sessions. The results indicated an improvement in students' understanding of various PHBS indicators, including handwashing habits, waste management, healthy food consumption, physical activity, growth monitoring, avoiding tobacco smoke, maintaining toilet cleanliness, and eradicating mosquito larvae. The active participation shown by the students reflects a heightened awareness of practicing PHBS within the school environment. In conclusion, this educational initiative has delivered a positive impact on student knowledge and holds the potential to foster a sustainable culture of clean and healthy living, both at school and in their daily lives.

Emotional intelligence (EI) is an essential competency for early childhood education (ECE) teachers in fostering supportive and emotionally responsive learning environments. However, many ECE teachers in Indonesia have limited access to structured EI training. This community service program aimed to strengthen the emotional intelligence of non-formal ECE teachers from HIMPAUDI Cipayung, East Jakarta, through interactive lectures and reflective practice using Points of You (Flow) cards. The training focused on four EI domains: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. Results showed a substantial improvement in participants’ understanding, with average scores increasing from 30.5 (pre-test) to 90.9 (post-test). Most participants (85%) reported that the training was beneficial and expressed readiness to apply the strategies in classroom practice. Observations also indicated improved teacher confidence in managing children’s emotions and building positive interactions. These findings demonstrate that reflective and experiential EI training effectively enhances ECE teachers’ emotional competencies and supports the creation of a positive social-emotional learning environment.

Listening skills are frequently regarded as the most challenging aspect of English language acquisition due to the complexity of the cognitive processes involved. In an orphanage environment, limited access to learning resources remains a primary obstacle to the development of this competence. This community outreach initiative aims to sharpen the listening skills of children at the Bonang Orphanage in Banjarmasin through the integration of subtitled YouTube videos and interactive repetition drill techniques. The implementation method involved 20 children selected via purposive sampling, utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The intervention procedure encompassed the presentation of listening strategies, interactive discussions, and structured repetition exercises designed to build phonological automaticity. Quantitative evaluation results indicated a significant improvement, with the participants' mean score rising from 82.9 on the pretest to 86.7 on the posttest, with a maximum achievement score of 94. The discussion reveals that the use of subtitles serves as a visual scaffolding mechanism that facilitates sound-to-form mapping, while repetition drills strengthen the participants' working memory. Overall, the utilization of digital media and repetitive exercises proved effective in lowering cognitive barriers and increasing the participants' active engagement in English language learning.

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Islamic Character Education Program at RA Al-Mu’minin Atula using the Goal Oriented Evaluation model. Islamic character education in early childhood education plays a crucial role in shaping students’ religious attitudes, moral values, and noble character through the internalization of Islamic values from an early age. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected from the head of the institution, classroom teachers, and students through observation and in-depth interviews. The Goal Oriented Evaluation model was applied to assess the achievement of program objectives by comparing predetermined goals with the actual implementation and outcomes in the field. The findings indicate that the Islamic character education program at RA Al-Mu’minin Atula has been implemented fairly effectively, particularly through routine religious activities such as reciting Iqra before learning sessions, collective prayers, and habituation of discipline and polite behavior. The program positively contributes to the development of students’ religious character. However, several aspects require improvement, especially in formulating more measurable indicators and establishing systematic evaluation documentation. In conclusion, the Goal Oriented Evaluation model is appropriate for evaluating Islamic character education programs in early childhood education institutions and provides valuable recommendations for continuous program improvement.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic, infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Primary infection occurs upon first exposure to bacillary tuberculosis, which often occurs in childhood, hence the term "childhood TB." The diagnosis of TB is usually made through a history that includes complaints of persistent cough, weight loss, fever, and weakness, along with a chest X-ray that shows typical abnormalities of pulmonary TB. In this case, a 21-month-old girl presented with a worsening, persistent cough accompanied by weight loss. The patient's mother reported that her child frequently had fevers and appeared weak. After a physical examination and supporting tests, the patient was diagnosed with TB. The patient was given pharmacological therapy in the form of anti-tuberculosis drugs (OAT), and parents were educated about the importance of adherence to TB treatment as prescribed by the doctor. Furthermore, providing a balanced, nutritious diet is recommended to support successful treatment.

Financial literacy is a fundamental skill that should be introduced from an early age to shape wise financial behavior. Elementary school students need to understand basic financial concepts to recognize the value of money, distinguish between needs and wants, and develop saving habits. However, many children still lack adequate financial literacy. This activity aims to improve financial literacy among elementary school students through a saving habituation strategy at SD Negeri 040530 Bunuraya, Bunuraya Village, Tigapanah District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The methods used included observation, teacher interviews, financial literacy socialization, and hands-on assistance in saving activities. The strategies implemented involved simple financial education, pocket money management simulations, creating piggy banks, and conducting regular saving programs at school. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of money functions, the importance of saving, and positive changes in financial behavior. Students became more accustomed to setting aside their pocket money and demonstrated more frugal and responsible attitudes. This activity indicates that consistent and structured saving habituation can be an effective strategy for improving children’s financial literacy from an early age.

This study discusses the judge’s considerations in granting child custody of a non-mumayyiz (underage) child to the biological father in the Religious Court Decision of Tanjung Karang Number: 1379/Pdt.G/2024/PA.Tnk. Generally, according to Islamic law and the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), custody of a non-mumayyiz child is granted to the biological mother. However, in this case, the panel of judges decided to grant custody to the biological father. The purpose of this research is to identify the legal reasoning behind the judge’s decision and the legal implications of such a ruling. The study employs a normative juridical method with a descriptive-analytical approach, supported by primary data obtained through interviews and secondary data from legislation and legal literature. The results show that the judge’s consideration was based on the best interest of the child principle, as the mother had remarried a non-Muslim man and converted to another religion, which made her ineligible to be the custodian under Islamic law. The legal implication of this decision reinforces the authority of judges to interpret hadhanah provisions contextually, ensuring the protection of the child’s rights and supporting their growth in accordance with religious teachings and prevailing social norms.

This study discusses the judge’s considerations in granting permission for polygamy to a husband who had committed adultery, as stated in the Religious Court Decision of Tanjung Karang Number: 737/Pdt.G/2024/PA.Tnk. Generally, Law No. 1 of 1974 in conjunction with Law No. 16 of 2019 on Marriage upholds the principle of monogamy but allows polygamy under certain conditions with court approval. This case is particularly interesting because the court granted permission for polygamy to a husband who was proven to have engaged in an affair and committed adultery resulting in a child born out of wedlock. The study aims to identify the legal considerations of the judge and the legal implications regarding the marriage and joint property. The research employs an applied normative legal method with a qualitative approach, using primary data from interviews and secondary data from legislation and legal literature. The results show that the judge considered granting permission for polygamy as a means of legalizing the existing relationship to maintain public morality and prevent continuous sinful behavior, although it conflicts with moral values. Legally, the second wife has no rights over the joint property acquired before the polygamous marriage, as stipulated in Article 65 paragraph (1) letter b of the Marriage Law

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Market Day activities in developing the social skills of children aged 5–6 years at TK IT Bunayya 7. The research focuses on planning, implementation, evaluation, and challenges faced by teachers during the process. A qualitative approach was employed, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The subjects were 15 children from group B and their classroom teacher. The findings reveal that Market Day effectively fosters children’s social skills, including cooperation, communication, empathy, responsibility, and honesty. Through simple buying and selling activities, children learn to interact while practicing togetherness and Islamic values. Challenges identified include children’s inconsistent cooperation and teachers’ limited ability to manage the activities optimally. In conclusion, Market Day serves as a project-based learning method that provides meaningful, enjoyable, and contextual experiences to support the social development of early childhood.

The advancement of digital technology has made computer literacy and language comprehension increasingly important. Playing games has become a daily habit for young children. Scratch is an innovative and child-friendly platform. This community service program aims to introduce basic programming concepts to sixth-grade students of Bulupasar Elementary School, Kediri, using the Scratch platform. This program adopts the Direct Instruction method, also known as hands-on learning. This one-day session involved 43 students who underwent a structured process consisting of a pre-test, material delivery, hands-on practice, such as using code blocks, introducing sprites, and creating a simple game, which was explained clearly and structured. During the project implementation phase, each student successfully created a simple animation project with the theme "Catch the Apple" and then conducted practical exercises to try it out on their own with direct guidance. This community service activity was successful, according to the analysis of the pre-test and post-test results. The resources used to create the simple game showed positive results and confirmed the importance of introducing children to the digital world from an early age. Qualitative evaluations revealed positive responses from all participants. Student comments reflected high enthusiasm for learning to code, with the majority expressing a desire to continue exploring Scratch independently. Several students expressed interest in creating future projects, suggesting the program has potential for implementation in other schools to encourage early introduction to programming and help prepare them for the future in an era of ever-evolving technology.

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is one of the most common health problems among primary school–aged children and may interfere with the learning process as well as children’s overall health status. This community service activity aimed to improve primary school students’ knowledge and awareness regarding ARI prevention through the implementation of the Faculty of Medicine Teaching Movement. The methods used were interactive lectures and demonstrations tailored to the characteristics of primary school children, including education on ARI, proper cough and sneeze etiquette, and correct handwashing practices. The community service program was conducted in three stages: planning and preparation, implementation, and evaluation and monitoring. The activity involved collaboration between lecturers and medical students from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang, who served as health education facilitators. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge, with the proportion of students in the good knowledge category increasing from 47.4% before the intervention to 78.9% after the intervention, along with an increase in the mean score of 28.4 points (p < 0.05). This activity not only enhanced students’ understanding of ARI prevention but also strengthened the role of medical students in field-based learning and promoted the development of health awareness within the school and family environment.

Stunting remains a chronic nutritional issue affecting human resource quality in Indonesia, particularly children under five years old. High prevalence of stunting impacts long-term cognitive development, physical growth, and productivity of the young generation (Ministry of Health, 2023). This community service aims to optimize the role of public administration in disseminating policies and programs to reduce stunting through education, training, and direct community assistance. Activities were carried out through coordination with government officials, community health cadres, and local leaders, using local communication media to raise awareness about nutrition. The results indicate an increase in community knowledge on stunting, balanced nutrition practices, and active involvement of both officials and residents in stunting reduction programs. Optimizing public administration through capacity building, cross-sector coordination, and information technology utilization supports program targets. This service recommends strategies for sustainable, participatory, and data-driven program implementation.

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that affects children's growth and development and remains a major public health challenge. Posyandu plays a strategic role in the prevention and early detection of stunting through community-based basic health services. This community service activity aims to optimize the role of Posyandu as a strategy for preventing and detecting stunting early in Nagreg Village, Banten. The methods used include anthropometric measurements of children aged 0–59 months and health education on nutrition for parents and Posyandu cadres. Data analysis was conducted descriptively based on age groups. The results show that out of 32 children examined, 37.5% showed indications of stunting risk. This finding suggests that the integration of growth monitoring and nutrition education at Posyandu has the potential to be an effective strategy for the prevention and early detection of stunting, as well as to support the improvement of children's health quality. This activity also enhances parents' and Posyandu cadres' understanding of the importance of monitoring nutritional status to prevent stunting more effectively.

Education is a planned effort aimed at creating an effective learning environment where students can develop their potentials; it seeks to ensure that students become individuals who are confident, competent, independent, and responsible. Introducing students to the Qur'an is one of the ways to increase their faith. Education that includes Qur'an study has a very broad purpose, with its main goal being to influence the individual as a being who obeys their Creator and to reflect this through Islamic values. This study aims to evaluate the Tahfiz Qur'an program at SMA-TQ Mu'adz bin Jabal using the CIPP evaluation model. The research was conducted at SMA-TQ Mu'adz bin Jabal Kendari, using a qualitative descriptive method with the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, and Product). The reason the author uses the CIPP evaluation model to evaluate the Tahfiz Al-Quran program is because it provides relevance in the decision-making process related to the planning of the program being implemented.The data collection process was conducted using observation and interview techniques. The results of this study show that the Tahfidz Al-Quran program at SMA-TQ Mu'adz bin Jabal Kendari has made real progress or development in every component—context, input, process, and product. These range from human resources supporting the program to facilities that do not create much burden and do not require special funding. However, the collaboration between the school and the parents has not yet been effectively implemented; this is because not every parent is able to track their children’s progress in Quran memorization.

This study discusses the dynamics of interpersonal communication between mothers and children in dealing with family conflicts. Conflict is a natural part of interpersonal relationships, but the way it is managed determines the quality of long-term relationships. Interpersonal communication is an important element because through the process of exchanging messages, mothers and children can express their feelings, understand each other's perspectives, and find an agreement that can be accepted by both parties. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method to examine communication patterns, barriers, and strategies used in the conflict resolution process. The results of the study showed that open communication, empathy, emotional presence, and active listening skills greatly influenced the success of conflict management. In addition, research has found that the alignment of verbal and nonverbal messages, the use of non-judgmental language, and mutual respect can create an atmosphere conducive to dialogue. This study makes a theoretical contribution to understanding modern family relations and practical implications for strengthening communication in dealing with mother-child conflicts.
