The Human Development Index (HDI) functions as a key indicator for assessing the level of welfare and overall quality of life of the population within a specific region. This study aims to examine the socio-economic factors influencing HDI at the provincial level in Indonesia using a Gaussian kernel regression approach. A nonparametric method is employed due to its flexibility in capturing nonlinear relationships between the response and predictor variables without the need to assume a specific functional form. The analysis utilizes secondary data, including education, poverty, per capita expenditure, expected years of schooling, open unemployment rate, and gross regional domestic product for each Indonesian province. The findings from this study indicate that educational factors, particularly mean years of schooling and expected years of schooling, exert the most significant impact on HDI improvement. The estimated Gaussian kernel regression model demonstrates a coefficient of determination of 0.9954 and a residual standard error of 0.3468, reflecting a very high predictive accuracy and relatively low error. These results suggest that Gaussian kernel regression is an effective nonparametric approach for analyzing human development in Indonesia.

The Decision Support Sistem (DSS) for selecting exemplary teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Loli aims to assist the school in determining teachers who deserve to be recognized as exemplary teachers. The evaluation of exemplary teachers involves various criteria such as teaching performance, discipline, creativity, and communication skills with students. However, the selection process conducted manually tends to be subjective and time-consuming. Therefore, a sistem is needed to simplify and accelerate the selection process while producing objective and transparent results. This sistem is developed using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method, which is one of the techniques in multi-criteria decision-making. The SAW method works by assigning weights to each predetermined criterion and calculating the weighted scores for each alternative (teacher). These weighted scores are then summed to determine the ranking order of teachers who meet the criteria as exemplary teacher candidates. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the SAW method can produce a more structured, objective, and efficient exemplary teacher selection process. The sistem facilitates the school in conducting evaluations and decision-making, while also reducing the potential for errors that may occur during manual selection. Thus, this decision support sistem is expected to make a significant contribution to improving the quality and accuracy of exemplary teacher assessments at SMP Negeri 2 Loli.

Intestinal parasitic infections caused by non-Soil Transmitted Helminths (non-STH), particularly Enterobius vermicularis, remain a public health problem in developing countries, including Indonesia. Transmission does not require soil as a medium but occurs through direct contact, autoinfection, or unclean household environments. In children, infection may cause perianal itching, sleep disturbances, loss of appetite, and secondary infections due to scratching, which can affect nutritional status, sleep quality, and overall growth and development. This study was conducted in Kupang City, an endemic area of helminthiasis, to determine the prevalence and risk factors of E. vermicularis infection among children aged 1–5 years. A cross-sectional design with total sampling was applied to 30 children living in RT 008/RW 003, Penfui Timur Village, Kupang Tengah District, from February to May 2025. Risk factor data were collected using structured questionnaires covering personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, socioeconomic status, and parental education. Infection was identified using the scotch tape technique and microscopic examination. The results showed a prevalence of 7% (2 out of 30 children), mainly among boys aged ≥4 years, with poor personal hygiene, inadequate sanitation, low economic status, and parental education at elementary school level or below. In conclusion, enterobiasis in children is influenced by a combination of behavioral, environmental, and socioeconomic factors.
