The administration of government in Indonesia is based on a systemic approach which includes a central government system, called the government, as well as a regional government system. In the practice of government administration, there are concepts of centralization and decentralization that regulate the relationship between central and regional governments. The concept of centralization reflects the characteristic where all authority for administering government is centered in the central government, while the concept of decentralization shows the characteristic where some authority for government affairs, which was previously the responsibility of the central government, is delegated to regional governments . According to Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government, the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) has a clear position as an integral regional people's representative institution in the administration of government at the local level. DPRD is not just a representative institution, but is also an inseparable part of the regional government structure. The function of the DPRD includes three main aspects, namely legislation, budgeting and supervision. (Kasenda et al., 2020). In an effort to realize this target, the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) needs to take concrete steps that can optimally strengthen its role in the context of regional government. The APBD is the implementation of the people's wishes for the government through the DPRD to improve welfare and services to the community. APBD is also the regional government's annual financial planning which is approved by the DPRD and made into policy through regional regulations. As a legislative institution, the DPRD has the responsibility to supervise the use of the budget and the implementation of regional government programs. Effective supervision is expected to increase transparency, accountability, and ensure that the benefits of the programs designed are truly felt by the community, especially those who need it most. Based on this description, the author is interested in conducting further research on the function of the Deli Serdang Regency DPRD in implementing the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget in the Development Sector. In formulating regional government policies, both from the executive and legislative branches, the orientation is to pay attention to the welfare of the people. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, the conclusion is that direct supervision has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of supervision. Direct supervision has a positive and significant effect on APBD implementation. Indirect supervision has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of supervision. Indirect supervision has a positive and significant effect on APBD implementation. The effectiveness of supervision has a positive and significant effect on APBD implementation. Direct supervision has a positive and significant effect on APBD implementation through the effectiveness of supervision. Indirect supervision has a positive and significant effect on APBD implementation through the effectiveness of supervision.

Illegal mining is rife in the Halmahera area, North Maluku Province, one of which is in Roko village, West Galela District. Mining without a permit, known as PATI, certainly has a big impact, not only on state income and the preservation of environmental functions, but also triggers social conflict among residents, both between illegal miners and local residents and between fellow miners who want to control certain areas. It doesn't stop there, since the presence of PT. Halmahera Jaya Maining with its modern technology is expected to be managed in accordance with legal and regulatory standards, but the environmental situation is getting worse because it is not equipped with an AMDAL. In this research the author used Empirical Juridical Research by comparing two Legal Research methods, the juridical approach was studied based on Law Number 4 of 2009 as amended by Law Number 3 of 2021 concerning Minerals and Coal in conjunction with Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Management and Environmental Conservation, as last amended by Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, is carried out empirically. Data collection through monitoring and interviews with residents of Roko Village on behalf of Etus Pali. In studies and field studies, it was found that residents were worried about the presence of PT HJM and illegal mining carried out by residents without permission, which had an impact on the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out integrated supervision and law enforcement by related parties against companies that ignore legal provisions and socialization and advocacy needs to be provided to illegal miners.

Fear of crime is closely linked to various factors such as education, income, race, age, and especially gender. Many studies have shown that women tend to experience higher levels of anxiety than men, thus limiting their participation in utilizing urban outdoor spaces. This condition emphasizes the need for crime prevention efforts to be integrated into urban planning, emphasizing the fulfillment of a sense of security not only physically but also psychologically. If the city fails to provide an adequate sense of security, it will lead to increased anxiety, discomfort, and ultimately limit community involvement in the use of public spaces. This study aims to identify design factors that influence women's sense of security and psychological safety in downtown areas. The research paradigm used is post-positivism with a quantitative approach, reinforced by walkthrough analysis techniques to produce more accurate findings. The results show that control factors are the most dominant aspect in influencing women's psychological security and safety, while sub-factors such as lighting, diversity of activities, availability of open spaces, and road conditions have also been shown to play a significant role in reducing women's anxiety when accessing public spaces. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of city center design that is not only oriented towards physical function alone, but also pays attention to psychological aspects in order to create a safe, inclusive, and gender-friendly urban environment so that women can feel more protected and free to participate in urban life.

This study was motivated by the high prevalence of high blood pressure (hypertension) and uncontrolled blood sugar levels among the elderly, particularly in Kalitengah Village, Blitar Regency. The elderly are a vulnerable group to health problems due to a decline in physiological function, which can lead to serious complications such as stroke, heart failure, and diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine the relationship between elderly exercise activities and blood pressure and blood sugar levels. The method used is quantitative with a correlational design. The study subjects consisted of 30 elderly individuals who actively participated in regular exercise activities at the Kalitengah Village Health Post. Measurements were taken of systolic and diastolic blood pressure and blood sugar levels before and after the exercise intervention. Based on the findings supported by previous literature reviews, it is known that physical activities such as elderly exercise significantly reduce blood pressure and help control blood sugar levels. The findings of this study indicate that regular exercise can improve blood pressure and blood glucose parameters. The results of this study are expected to serve as a basis for promotive and preventive efforts to improve the quality of life of the elderly through community-based interventions that are easy, affordable, and effective, namely elderly exercise.

A mixed-use building refers to a combination of several different functions within a single structure, such as residential, office, shopping, and recreational functions built on one site. Designing a mixed-use building requires careful planning and consideration of various factors such as functional needs, aesthetics, and energy conservation. Additionally, the design of mixed-use buildings incorporates various functions within a single area. Floor slabs and beams use plain reinforcing steel with a quality of Fy = 240 MPa (Ø8mm). The concrete cover is taken as 20 mm. From the design results, several thickness types of slabs were obtained according to the load requirements that must be accommodated above them. The following are the moments acting on the floor slabs and beams. The reinforcement calculations are performed using the capacity strength design method according to SNI 2847-2019. The capacity design concept involves controlling the formation of plastic hinges at predetermined locations. The SAP2000 program can directly calculate the feasibility of the structural dimensions and the amount of reinforcement needed from the input program results. In the SAP2000 program, the concrete code used is the American concrete code ACI-318-05/IBC 2003, which differs in some respects from the concrete code in Indonesia SNI 2847-2019. Adjustments need to be made to comply with the regulations in Indonesia. Internal forces from the SAP2000 program are selected from load combinations that generate the maximum moments at the column face. The flexural and shear reinforcement for beams can be directly read from the SAP2000 output in the form of information on the required area of reinforcement.

This research is motivated by the researcher’s curiosity about discrimination and social conflict, which are the central themes in the novel Maryam by Okky Madasari. The main character in this novel, Maryam, faces an inner conflict between maintaining her personal beliefs and coping with the social pressures exerted by her community and family. The internal and external conflicts experienced by Maryam illustrate the psychological dynamics of individuals living in an intolerant environment. To understand these conflicts, this study applies Sigmund Freud's psychological approach, emphasizing the interaction among the id, ego, and superego. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, employing a literature review. The analysis reveals that while Maryam’s id drives her to uphold her freedom and personal beliefs, her superego imposes pressure through societal norms and family expectations. Meanwhile, Maryam's ego functions as a mediator, seeking a compromise, though this leads to emotional distress. These internal and external conflicts reflect the social realities faced by individuals from minority groups, which can significantly influence their life choices.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA), and has created an unprecedented change for all organizations to either evolved or seized to exist. The dynamism due to COVID-19 has forced the HRM function to look forward to organizational agility to adapt and stay in business. The approach to make a linkage between COVID-19, organizational agility, and sustainable HRM is theoretically argued based on a resource-based theory. By conceptualizing the work of Dyer & Shafer (2014) and Nijssen & Paauwe (2012) five dimensions are identified to measure organizational agility, which includes fluid organizational design, flexible core business strategy, distributive information, fast organizational learning, and highly adaptable infrastructure and workplace design. However, further research is needed to confirm the dimensions proposed and to expand them into indicators that can specifically measure organizational agility as a variable.

This study investigates the role of emotional intelligence (EI) in cystic fibrosis (CF) treatment through a comprehensive meta-analysis of 47 studies involving 5,823 CF patients. Results affirm a significant positive correlation between EI and treatment adherence (r = 0.62, p < 0.001), as well as improved quality of life (QoL) for CF patients (β = 0.58, 95% CI [0.49, 0.67]). Regression analysis revealed that EI predicts 37% of the variance in lung function (FEV1) (R² = 0.37, F(1, 5821) = 3421.76, p < 0.001). Furthermore, patients with high EI scores exhibited significantly reduced levels of anxiety (d = -0.79) and depression (d = -0.83) compared to control groups. These findings extend previous research by Salovey et al. (2002) and Ceyhan et al. (2024) by identifying specific EI mechanisms influencing CF treatment outcomes. Unlike Cox et al.'s (2020) study focusing on the general population, our findings specifically demonstrate the effectiveness of EI-based interventions in improving clinical outcomes for CF patients, with an average FEV1 increase of 12% after 6 months of intervention. Lastly, mediation analysis indicated that emotion regulation (β = 0.31, p < 0.001), adaptive health behaviors (β = 0.28, p < 0.001), and utilization of social support (β = 0.22, p < 0.001) mediated the relationship between EI and CF treatment outcomes. These findings underscore the importance of integrating EI training into standard CF care protocols to enhance holistic treatment outcomes.
