This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic financial education and literacy in increasing consumer participation in Islamic retail in Indonesia. The main issue addressed is the relatively low level of Islamic financial literacy compared to conventional financial literacy, which has an impact on the low level of consumer participation in choosing Sharia-based retail products. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by analyzing various secondary sources, such as academic journals, official institutional reports, and related publications. The findings indicate that Islamic financial literacy and education play a significant role in shaping public understanding, attitudes, and consumption behavior. The low level of Islamic financial literacy is influenced by limited access to information, lack of formal education, and public perceptions regarding the complexity of Sharia-compliant products. On the other hand, structured and digitally based educational programs have proven effective in increasing consumer awareness and trust in Islamic retail products. This study concludes that improving Islamic financial literacy and education is a key factor in encouraging consumer participation, which in turn contributes to the growth and sustainability of the Islamic retail sector in Indonesia. Therefore, synergy among regulators, business actors, and educational institutions is necessary to expand inclusive and sustainable Islamic financial education.
