This study investigates the differences in customer satisfaction levels toward the services of Bank Syariah Indonesia by employing a nonparametric statistical approach. Customer satisfaction is a critical benchmark in Islamic banking, as it not only reflects the quality of services but also the extent to which sharia compliance is embedded in financial practices. Given that satisfaction data are generally ordinal and may not fulfill the assumptions of normal distribution, nonparametric methods such as the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests were selected as the primary analytical tools. This research adopts a qualitative library-based method by reviewing relevant literature, scientific articles, and previous empirical studies to construct a comprehensive understanding of customer satisfaction measurement within Islamic banking. The findings highlight that variations in satisfaction are influenced by multiple factors, including service speed, staff friendliness, accessibility of digital platforms, and clarity of sharia principles applied in daily operations. Results further suggest that demographic characteristics and service usage frequency significantly shape satisfaction differences across customer groups. Theoretically, this study enriches the body of knowledge on the application of nonparametric statistics in Islamic banking research, while practically, it provides actionable insights for Bank Syariah Indonesia in formulating adaptive service strategies. These contributions are expected to assist the bank in strengthening customer loyalty, enhancing competitiveness, and sustaining growth in the dynamic modern banking industry. This research investigates the relationship between fiscal decentralization, economic growth, and income inequality (measured by the Gini ratio) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in regencies and cities within Bali Province during the 2013–2023 period. Human development is a crucial indicator of regional welfare, and understanding the factors that shape HDI is essential for designing effective regional development policies. A quantitative approach was employed through panel data regression, utilizing secondary data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The findings indicate that fiscal decentralization has a positive and significant effect on HDI, suggesting that greater regional fiscal authority can improve public service delivery and social welfare. Conversely, economic growth demonstrates a significant negative relationship with HDI, which implies that growth alone does not automatically translate into improved human development, particularly when it is unevenly distributed. In addition, income inequality shows a negative and significant effect on HDI, confirming that disparities in income hinder broader improvements in welfare. Collectively, these variables significantly explain variations in HDI across regencies and cities in Bali. The policy implications emphasize the need to strengthen regional fiscal capacity, reduce income inequality, and encourage inclusive economic growth to ensure that economic progress contributes effectively to enhancing human development.

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of zakat in reducing income inequality in Indonesia. The data used is secondary data from the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the 2015–2024 period. The research method used multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) approach. The results showed that the distribution of zakat had a significant positive effect on the Gini Index (β = 0.0013511; p = 0.002), while the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita had a significant negative effect (β = –0.0000198; p = 0.000). An Adjusted R² value of 0.91 indicates that the model has a very strong ability to explain variations in income inequality. These findings show that although the collection and distribution of zakat has increased from year to year, its impact on reducing inequality has not been optimal. This can be caused by the limited amount of zakat funds collected compared to the real needs of the community and the distribution that is not fully on target. On the other hand, economic growth reflected in the increase in GDP per capita has proven to be still the dominant factor in reducing income inequality in Indonesia. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of optimizing zakat management so that it not only functions as a philanthropic instrument, but also as a sustainable economic instrument. BAZNAS and related institutions are expected to be able to strengthen the zakat distribution system through productive economic empowerment programs, so that zakat can make a real contribution in reducing inequality and supporting more inclusive development in Indonesia.

This study investigates the influence of economic growth, investment, and minimum wage on the open unemployment rate across districts and cities in East Kalimantan Province. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach with panel data regression analysis, processed using EViews 13 software. Model selection was carried out through the Chow and Hausman tests, which identified the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) as the most appropriate estimation technique. The study utilizes secondary data from 2018 to 2024, obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office of East Kalimantan Province. The empirical findings demonstrate that economic growth exerts a negative and statistically significant impact on the open unemployment rate, indicating that higher economic growth effectively contributes to reducing unemployment in the region. Foreign Investment (PMA) is found to have a negative but insignificant effect, suggesting that inflows of foreign capital alone do not directly translate into job creation unless accompanied by supporting policies and local labor absorption capacity. In contrast, Domestic Investment (PMDN) shows a positive yet statistically insignificant relationship with unemployment, reflecting the possibility that domestic investments may not always generate sufficient employment opportunities in the short term due to structural constraints or sectoral imbalances. Furthermore, the minimum wage variable has a negative and significant effect on the open unemployment rate, implying that increases in the regional minimum wage can stimulate greater employment absorption and improve labor market conditions. Overall, the results highlight the importance of fostering sustained economic growth and designing investment policies that are more labor-intensive to optimize employment creation. Additionally, the findings emphasize the strategic role of minimum wage policy in supporting job opportunities while safeguarding workers’ welfare.
