This study aims to describe the forms and types of presuppositions found in two short stories published on the website ruangsastra.com, namely “Minum Teh Sebelum Mati” (“Drinking Tea Before Dying”) and “Pendongeng Keliling dan Tangisan Peluru” (“The Traveling Storyteller and the Cry of Bullets”). This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with an objective and pragmatic approach. Data were collected using the observation and note-taking method, then analyzed using distributional and referential analysis techniques. The results of the study show that a total of 32 presuppositions were identified and classified into six types, theory: existential, factive, structural, non-factive, lexical, and counterfactual presuppositions. Among these types, existential presuppositions were the most frequently found in the texts, while counterfactual presuppositions were the least common. These findings indicate that the use of presuppositions in short stories serves not only as a linguistic feature but also as an essential tool in constructing meaning and understanding narrative context. This research is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of pragmatic studies, particularly in the analysis of modern literary works, as well as to open new perspectives in understanding the interaction between language, meaning, and context in literary texts. The implications of this study may also serve as a foundation for further research on other pragmatic aspects in broader and more diverse literary works.

Pragmatics not only highlights language structure, but also the speaker's purpose and intention in a communication event. This study on representative and directive speech acts in the “Belajar Jadi MC” playlist on Maya Rachma's YouTube channel is important because social media, especially YouTube, has developed into an influential public space that shapes people's perspectives. This scientific article uses a theoretical approach in the form of a pragmatic approach and a methodological approach, namely a qualitative descriptive approach.  The techniques used by the researcher were the Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique and the note-taking technique. These two techniques were used because the author did not interact directly but only listened and took notes from existing data. The results of the study found 8 types of representative speech acts and 4 types of directive speech acts. There were 65 representative speech acts, including 9 informative speech acts, 12 suggestive speech acts, 13 mentioning speech acts, 9 stating speech acts, 6 exemplifying speech acts, 9 explaining speech acts, 4 showing speech acts, and 3 speculating speech acts. Meanwhile, there were 33 instances of directive speech acts, including 9 requests, 7 invitations, 8 commands, and 9 orders. The author hopes that this research can be used as a reference for further studies on representative and directive speech acts and increase knowledge and insight in the field of pragmatics, especially in the study of representative and directive speech acts.

This study aims to examine the use of picture books as a visual literacy medium in teaching English at the elementary school level, particularly in the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This research employed a qualitative descriptive literature review by analyzing relevant national and international journal articles published within the last five years. The findings indicate that the integration of visual and verbal elements in picture books contributes significantly to students’ language development, especially in vocabulary acquisition, reading comprehension, and meaning construction. From an affective perspective, the use of picture books enhances students’ motivation, learning interest, classroom participation, and reduces language learning anxiety. The effectiveness of visual media is theoretically supported by Dual Coding Theory, which explains that information processed through both verbal and visual channels strengthens memory retention and comprehension. However, several challenges remain, including the selection of appropriate picture books and teachers’ limited competence in visual literacy. Therefore, systematic instructional planning and professional development for teachers are essential to optimize the use of picture books in EFL classrooms at the elementary level.

This study examines the legality of on-street parking levy practices in Kupang City from a constitutional law perspective, with a primary focus on the application of the legality principle. The background of this research stems from a significant discrepancy between the legal norms established in statutory regulations and the empirical administrative practices occurring in the field. Identified issues include the collection of levies without official tickets, the lack of clarity regarding the identity and legal status of collection officers, and the inconsistent and non-transparent application of parking tariffs. This research employs a normative-empirical legal method by applying statutory, conceptual, and empirical approaches through limited field observations. The findings indicate that although the Kupang City Government formally possesses the attribution of authority to collect parking levies, the implementation frequently deviates from the established legal procedures. Such deviant practices potentially constitute ultra vires actions and violate the principle of due process of law in government administration. This study concludes that the substantive legality of parking levies in Kupang City has not been fully realized, thereby undermining legal certainty and public trust in the legitimacy of local governance. The implications of this research emphasize the imperative for comprehensive reform of the supervision system and stricter enforcement of administrative procedures to ensure the rule of law at the local level.

The increasing competition in the healthcare industry requires hospitals to establish effective relationship strategies to enhance patient loyalty. This study aims to examine the effect of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) on patient loyalty, with brand salience and customer engagement behavior (CEB) as mediating variables. The research adopts a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected from 155 outpatients at Cengkareng General Hospital (RSAR) who had experienced CRM-related services, using a structured questionnaire measured on a four-point Likert scale. The findings reveal that CRM has a significant positive effect on brand salience, customer engagement behavior, and patient loyalty. Among these relationships, CRM demonstrates the strongest influence on customer engagement behavior, indicating that relationship-based strategies effectively encourage active patient involvement. Furthermore, customer engagement behavior significantly affects patient loyalty, suggesting that patients who are more engaged—through feedback, recommendations, and participation—are more likely to develop stronger loyalty toward healthcare providers. In contrast, brand salience does not have a significant effect on patient loyalty, indicating that brand awareness alone is insufficient to drive loyalty in the healthcare context. Mediation analysis shows that customer engagement behavior partially mediates the relationship between CRM and patient loyalty, whereas brand salience does not act as a mediator. These results suggest that CRM enhances patient loyalty not only directly but also indirectly through strengthening engagement behavior. This study contributes to healthcare marketing literature by integrating relationship marketing and customer engagement perspectives, highlighting engagement as a more critical mechanism than brand salience in fostering sustainable patient loyalty.

The development of financial technology (fintech lending) in Indonesia has significantly facilitated public access to financing; however, it has also generated various legal issues, particularly concerning the protection of creditors. This study aims to analyze the forms of legal protection available to creditors in loan agreements based on fintech lending from the perspectives of civil law and commercial law in Indonesia. The research employs a normative legal method, utilizing both statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that legal protection for creditors in fintech lending still faces numerous challenges, particularly regarding the validity of electronic agreements, the risk of default, and the weakness of guarantee mechanisms. Existing regulations, such as the Financial Services Authority Regulation (POJK) concerning information technology-based lending services, have not yet provided optimal legal certainty. Furthermore, the principles of prudence and transparency have not been fully implemented by fintech providers. Therefore, strengthening regulatory frameworks and harmonizing civil law and commercial law are essential to ensure more comprehensive legal protection for creditors. This study is expected to contribute to the development of business law in Indonesia, particularly in responding to the dynamics of the digital economy.

This study examines the predictive influence of religious habituation and teacher role modeling on students’ emotional intelligence in an Islamic elementary school context. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed, involving 78 students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that religious habituation has a positive and significant effect on students’ emotional intelligence, while teacher role modeling demonstrates a relatively stronger contribution. Simultaneously, both variables significantly predict emotional intelligence, explaining 74.9% of its variance. These results suggest that students’ socio-emotional development is shaped by the integration of structured religious practices and pedagogical modeling within the school environment. The study contributes to the ecological-religious perspective on character education by emphasizing the importance of consistent spiritual habituation and teachers’ personal competence in fostering emotional regulation and social skills. Practically, Islamic elementary schools are encouraged to strengthen religious culture programs and support teachers’ emotional and moral development to enhance students’ emotional intelligence.

The policy plan to integrate parking fees into the Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK), scheduled for nationwide implementation in 2027, has generated debate regarding contractual validity and fiscal justice. From the perspective of Islamic Economic Law, the transformation from a conventional pay-per-use retribution system to an annual prepaid system raises issues related to mutual consent (an-taradin) and the certainty of service benefits. This study aims to analyze the 2027 subscription parking policy using the framework of Maslahah Mursalah and the principle of distributive economic justice to assess its legitimacy as an instrument of public welfare. This research uses a normative legal method with conceptual and statutory approaches. Literature data are analyzed qualitatively through deductive reasoning to derive legal conclusions from general principles of Islamic economics in relation to contemporary fiscal policy. The findings indicate that the policy contains elements of Maslahah Mursalah, particularly in improving bureaucratic efficiency and preventing state revenue leakage (sadd adz-dzari'ah). However, from the perspective of distributive justice, the policy may contain elements of dzulm (injustice) if it is not supported by fair tariff segmentation. Without guaranteed service availability for all payers, mandatory annual parking fees risk being categorized as akl al-amwal bi al-bathil (unlawful appropriation of wealth). Therefore, a zoning-based tariff system is recommended to ensure fairness between obligations and benefits.

This study explores how social media–driven green marketing shapes sustainable consumer behavior through a systematic literature review. As concerns about sustainability intensify alongside rapid digital engagement, social media has emerged as a crucial platform for communicating environmental initiatives and influencing consumer responses. Despite this relevance, existing studies remain fragmented across theoretical, contextual, and methodological perspectives, limiting a holistic understanding of the topic. Using the PRISMA approach, this research reviews 42 empirical articles sourced from the Scopus database and analyzes them through the TCCM (Theory–Context–Characteristics–Method) framework. The findings show that most studies rely on intention-based theories, particularly the Theory of Planned Behavior, although there is a growing shift toward integrating social, psychological, and technology-oriented approaches. From a contextual standpoint, the literature is largely concentrated in Asian regions and younger demographics, which restricts broader generalization. Furthermore, results indicate that social media–driven green marketing does not directly affect sustainable behavior but works through important psychological mediators such as trust, engagement, and perceived value. These factors significantly influence how consumers interpret and respond to environmental messages online. The effectiveness of such marketing strategies is also shaped by cultural and demographic differences, making context a critical factor. Methodologically, most studies employ cross-sectional surveys and structural equation modeling, limiting the ability to capture causal and dynamic relationships. Overall, this study provides a structured synthesis, highlights research gaps, and suggests future directions, including cross-cultural analysis, stronger theoretical integration, and more rigorous research designs.

This study aims to analyze the practice of interfaith communication in the process of institutionalizing multicultural values in Pekalongan City. The study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation of religious leaders involved in interfaith communication activities. The results show that the practice of interfaith communication occurs through dialogue between religious leaders and open communication interactions in various community forums. From the perspective of George Herbert Mead's symbolic interaction, this communication process demonstrates an exchange of meaning (mind) that builds a shared understanding of tolerance and respect for differences. In addition, interfaith communication also shapes the self-awareness of religious leaders as social agents maintaining harmony (self) while strengthening inclusive social relations in a multicultural society (society). The research findings indicate that interfaith communication functions in two ways: first, as a means of dialogue between religious leaders, and second, as a social mechanism in the institutionalization of multicultural values that supports the realization of religious harmony in Pekalongan City.

Social media has brought significant changes in the way humans interact, construct meaning, and shape social identities. In Indonesia, TikTok is the most widely accessed social media platform, reaching 32% of users. TikTok is not only a medium of entertainment but also a space for the production and reproduction of values, tastes, and social standards. The TikTok algorithm presents personalized content according to user preferences, creating a continuous flow of information that is visually and repetitively consumed. From an anthropological perspective, this article aims to analyze how algorithms influence the formation of digital identity and generate new status symbols in virtual spaces. This research uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods and literature studies on TikTok usage practices. The results of the study show that indicators of popularity such as the number of views, followers, likes, and interaction rates become new forms of status symbols that represent users’ social influence in the digital world. From an anthropological perspective, TikTok can be understood as a new cultural space where algorithms act as structural agents that influence social practices, identity production, and symbolic hierarchies within digital society. This study emphasizes that algorithms function not only as technical technologies but also as cultural forces that shape how individuals understand themselves and their social positions within the social media ecosystem.

The annulment of a marriage certificate as a product of state administrative law creates complex juridical issues concerning the legality of marriage administration, protection of civil rights, and legal certainty within society. This study aims to analyze the legal consequences of the annulment of Marriage Certificate Number 0026/26/I/2020 in the Decision of the Bandar Lampung State Administrative Court Number 15/G/2023/PTUN.BL and to examine the judges’ considerations from the perspective of siyasah qadha’iyyah. This research employs a normative juridical method using statutory, case, and conceptual approaches within Islamic political jurisprudence. Data sources were obtained from court decisions, legislation, classical Islamic legal texts, and relevant scientific journals. The findings indicate that the annulment of a marriage certificate revokes the administrative legal force of the marriage registration but does not automatically invalidate the marriage contract under Islamic law as long as the pillars and conditions of marriage are fulfilled. The decision demonstrates that the State Administrative Court has authority to examine the administrative aspects of marriage certificate issuance but lacks authority to determine the substantive validity of the marriage itself. From the perspective of siyasah qadha’iyyah, the judges’ decision reflects the implementation of justice, public benefit, legal certainty, and supervision over state administrative officials. This study emphasizes the necessity of strengthening marriage administration systems based on good governance principles and maqashid al-shari’ah to prevent administrative legal disputes in marital affairs.

The phenomenon of tedong petarung in Toraja has generated controversy due to its shift from the traditional tedong silaga, which historically formed part of Torajan customary rituals. This practice has evolved into entertainment and competition frequently associated with gambling activities. This study aims to analyze tedong petarung as a form of cultural distortion from the perspectives of customary law and criminal law, as well as to examine the limits of customary culture recognition within the national legal system. This research employs a normative legal method using statutory, conceptual, and sociological approaches. Legal materials were collected through library research consisting of legislation, legal literature, journals, and related documents. The study finds that tedong silaga possesses legitimacy as part of Torajan customary culture containing social, symbolic, and spiritual values. However, modern tedong petarung practices demonstrate a shift toward commercialization and gambling, obscuring the philosophical values of the original tradition. From a criminal law perspective, such practices potentially fulfill the elements of gambling offenses under Indonesian positive law. This study concludes that recognition of customary culture must remain aligned with public order, morality, and national law.

This study discusses the implementation of the concept of Islamic insurance in the Amanah Card product at Amanah Takaful Banten. In Indonesia, there are various economic activities such as trade, savings and loans, and Islamic financial institutions. Currently, the insurance sector is growing rapidly in Indonesia. There are two types of insurance in Indonesia, namely Islamic insurance and conventional insurance. However, conventional insurance poses concerns for Muslims due to the presence of elements such as riba (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (gambling). Therefore, Islamic insurance emerges as a risk protection system that prioritizes Sharia principles. The objectives of this study are: (1) to identify the concept of the Amanah Card product at Amanah Takaful Banten, (2) to examine the implementation of Islamic insurance principles in the Amanah Card product, and (3) to analyze how Amanah Takaful Banten improves the accessibility of the Amanah Card product. This research employs a qualitative approach using a field study method (direct observation in the field). Data were collected through interviews with informants, as well as observation and documentation methods. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Relevant literature includes theories on insurance, Amanah Card, and zakat management institutions, as well as previous studies that examine the implementation of Islamic insurance concepts in insurance products such as Amanah Card. The results show that the Amanah Card product is categorized as a microinsurance product. It implements Islamic insurance principles, including the use of contracts (akad) and management practices that comply with Sharia principles and do not violate existing regulations. The account of Moses’ death in Deuteronomy 34 has long drawn attention because of the questions it raises about what truly happened at the end of his life. The text leaves certain details unclear, especially regarding his burial and the absence of a known grave, which has led to different interpretations among scholars and faith communities. This study seeks to explore these interpretive possibilities, asking whether Moses simply died, was buried by God, or experienced a unique form of being taken by God. Using a qualitative approach based on literature review, this research engages biblical texts alongside selected contemporary studies. The discussion shows that the narrative intentionally allows room for multiple perspectives, rather than offering a single, definitive explanation. It also becomes clear that later Jewish and Christian traditions played a role in shaping how Moses’ death has been understood, often highlighting its deeper theological meaning. In the end, Moses’ death can be seen not only as the closing of his personal journey, but also as part of a larger story about leadership, transition, and God’s ongoing work among His people.

Abstract. The increasing number of cases involving corporate losses that implicate the liability of directors in limited liability companies highlights the importance of a comprehensive understanding of the scope and nature of such liability from a civil law perspective. This study aims to analyze the liability of directors for corporate losses as well as the factors influencing the emergence of such legal liability. The method used is normative legal research with a legislative and conceptual approach, through a review of legislation, legal literature, and relevant court decisions. The results of the study indicate that directors’ liability is not automatic but depends on proving the existence of fault or negligence in performing their duties, in accordance with the principles of due diligence and good faith. Furthermore, factors such as weak internal controls, lack of transparency, and directors’ limited legal understanding are the primary causes of corporate losses. The implications of this study underscore the importance of implementing sound corporate governance principles, enhancing directors’ competence, and ensuring consistency in law enforcement to achieve a balance between legal protection and accountability in corporate management.

This study uses a qualitative research design with a literature study approach to examine the theological meaning of the suffering of the righteous in the Book of Job, specifically chapters 1–2 and 38–42. The literature study method was applied by collecting primary data in the form of biblical texts and secondary data from relevant national scientific journals. The approach used includes narrative interpretation to understand the story's structure, Job's character, and the dynamics of events, and theological interpretation to interpret suffering from the perspective of God's sovereignty. The results show that Job is portrayed as a righteous man who is pious, honest, and fears God, so his suffering is not related to personal sin. Job's suffering is holistic, encompassing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects, and occurs in the context of God's permission of Satan's actions, confirming that no event is outside His sovereignty. God's response in chapters 38–42 emphasizes His greatness and wisdom through revelation from the storm, rather than through a rational explanation of the cause of suffering. These findings confirm that the primary purpose of suffering is not to be explained intellectually, but to purify faith and deepen humanity's relationship with God. Its relevance for the church today lies in the need for sound theological teaching on suffering, pastoral care for those who suffer, and the development of communities that sustain the faith and hope of the congregation. Thus, suffering, from the perspective of God's sovereignty, serves as a means of forming spiritual character, strengthening the resilience of faith, and recognizing the sovereign God.

The protection of workers’ rights represents a constitutional mandate within Indonesia’s rule of law framework. Although the national labor law system provides a civil litigation mechanism through the Industrial Relations Court to resolve disputes, violations of workers’ rights still frequently occur in practice. This study aims to analyze, from normative and theoretical perspectives, the protection of workers’ rights through civil lawsuit mechanisms and to evaluate their effectiveness in achieving substantive justice. The research applies a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and case approaches to examine relevant legal provisions and their implementation. The findings reveal that the civil litigation mechanism provides a clear legal basis for workers to pursue claims and defend their rights. However, its effectiveness in practice remains limited due to several challenges, including structural constraints within the legal system, complex procedural requirements, and unequal bargaining power between workers and employers. These conditions often hinder workers from obtaining fair outcomes. Therefore, policy reform, simplification of legal procedures, and stronger access to justice are necessary to ensure more effective and substantive protection of workers’ rights in Indonesia.

This study examines thee regulations governing the post-notification obligation for share acquisitions from the perspective of competition law in Indonesia, as well as efforts to optimise it as an effective supervisory instrument. Indonesia adopts a post-notification system as stipulated in Law No. 5 of 1999 and its implementing regulations, which require business entities to report acquisition transactions to the KPPU after the transaction has taken effect. Although this system provides flexibility for business entities, in practice there are a number of weaknesses, including its reactive nature, low levels of compliance, and limitations in the effectiveness of oversight in preventing anti-competitive effects. This study employs a normative legal method using legislative, conceptual, and comparative approaches, as well as an analysis of KPPU decisions. The research findings indicate that the post-notification system is not yet optimal in maintaining healthy business competition. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen oversight mechanisms, improve business compliance, and update legal policies to be more adaptive, including the possibility of limited integration of pre-notification elements. It is hoped that these optimisations will enhance the effectiveness of acquisition control and prevent monopolistic practices and unhealthy business competition in Indonesia.
