Having English language skills is something that many people are very grateful for. including pre-school students who consider themselves to be learning English skills. Many students experience difficulties because their graduate backgrounds are not only from high school, but some are from vocational school. The researcher observed and saw what difficulties pre-school students had in learning English for early childhood. The aim of this research is so that students can develop good strategies in learning English for early childhood.

Teachers' strategies plays important roles in teaching. However, one applicable strategy in a certain context might not be applicable for another teaching context. This research was conducted at MAN 1 KEBUMEN for one month. The subjects of this study were English teachers and eleventh grade students. The purpose of this study was to explore the strategies used by the teachers in teaching speaking at the eleventh grade. This study also provided questionnaires to students to determine students' responses to the strategies used by the teachers in teaching speaking. The research method used descriptive qualitative to describe the strategies used by teachers in teaching speaking. In addition, the research also described student responses to the strategies used by the teachers. The data was collected by using interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study found: First, there were six strategies used by the teachers in teaching speaking, namely role playing, dialogues, discussion, picture description, playing cards, and brainstorming. Second, it was found that the students were happy with the strategies used by the teachers.

The English language, as a universal language, plays a crucial role in global communication. This research explores the contribution of modern media to vocabulary development, considering that English is taught at various education levels in Indonesia. Vocabulary development is not only the responsibility of the classroom but also involves learning strategies outside the class, including the use of media like YouTube. YouTube serves as an engaging learning tool, especially to overcome difficulties in understanding English lessons that may be challenging through textbooks and worksheets. Enjoyable media like YouTube can have a positive impact on learning and student engagement. This study was conducted at MTs Terpadu Berkah in Central Kalimantan, Palangka Raya. The service-based implementation method involved preparing vocabulary materials, with YouTube chosen as the teaching tool. The service process required permission from the school principal and was carried out during the learning sessions. The results indicated that students found the use of YouTube more interesting and effective for learning English. In conclusion, this approach could be further integrated into English teaching in various schools as a new and engaging alternative.

The teaching material design of Tourism Management should meet the vocational students' needs and be relevant to the workplace milieu. A few coursebooks have recently been offered to fulfill the student's needs. Some books that are usually used are about tourism management materials in general. It needs to meet the student's needs. This study aims to describe the process of developing English Materials for Tourism Management courses and how the development of English materials for Tourism Management courses can help students learn Tourism Management. The method used was Research and Development. There were four steps: Defining, Designing, developing, and disseminating. The finding showed that developing materials follows four steps: define, design, design, and disseminate. In Define showed that EFL learners and lecturers need relevant teaching-learning materials that can instantly be applied in the teaching-learning process. In Desing, steps showed that the result of the design stage is a Tourism Management handout based on problem-based learning. The result of this book design is that it contains ten chapters and 110 pages. In Develop steps is the validity test. The last step is Dissemination; the materials are shared with the EFL Learners and lecturers who taught tourism management classes as a reference. This study had two implications; first, Developing this textbook would improve the lecturer's role in the Tourism Management classroom as a facilitator, motivator, and manager. Second, implementing this textbook into the teaching-learning process in Tourism Management classes can improve students' motivation.

The objectives of this study are to identify the types of teachers’ questioning strategies, to explain the types of questioning strategies that are mostly used, and to describe teachers' reasons for using questioning strategies based on Wajnryb's theory. The subjects of this study were two English teachers SMP N 1 Juwana who taught eighth-grade students. This research used a descriptive qualitative method and the data were collected and obtained from classroom observation, recording, and interview. Research findings show that both teachers used yes/no, short-answer, display, referential, and open-ended questions during the lesson, while imaginative questions never appeared during learning. Short-answer questions and display questions are types of questions that are mostly used by teachers. Research findings show the reason teachers use questioning strategies to provoke student responses and create a pleasant classroom atmosphere so that goals can be achieved. It was proven from classroom observations that students became more active when teachers used questioning strategies during teaching and learning activities.

The purpose of this research is to find out the types of questions used by English teachers during teaching and learning process. This is a qualitative descriptive research carried out at seventh grade in SMPs in Nita Sub District. Data were collected through class observation and interviews with teachers. The data is analyzed based on Miles and Huberman which consists of 3 techniques in analyzing data namely data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing and verification. The results showed that English teachers at seventh grade of SMPs in Nita sub district used six types of questions namely; remembering question, understanding question, applying question, analysis question, evaluating question, creating question. The impact of applying various questioning strategy during learning process are students become more enthusiastic about the learning in which they actively ask the teacher back if the material they cannot fully understand.

Mastering English vocabulary, which is a foreign language in Indonesia, is not easy. To master English vocabulary, appropriate technique in teaching is needed. This is the basis for carrying out English vocabulary mastery training using guessing game for the children of the Al Mim Palangkaraya Orphanage. This training was attended by ten participants and accompanied by an instructor in March 2023 for one day which included preparation, implementation and evaluation. The training material consists of mastering English vocabulary using guessing game. The list of English vocabulary provided is related to the names of professions in English. The results of the training show that guessing game can be implemented well in the mastering English vocabulary. Guessing game can make the participants motivated, interested, more active, enthusiastic, and not bored. Guessing game can also help the participants to acquire new English vocabulary.

This research was about students’ perception of lecturers’ teaching performance at the English Department of FKIP Mataram University Academic Year 2020/2021. This research aims to discover the ideal teaching performances perceived by the students at the English Department of FKIP Mataram University. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative design. The samples of this study totaled 70 students taken from the fifth, seventh, and ninth semesters. This research used a questionnaire as means of collecting the data. The researcher used a descriptive quantitative method for analyzing and presenting the data gathered from the questionnaire. The result from this research showed that the students at the English Department of FKIP Mataram University gave a significant amount of response in lecturers’ inventiveness (71.4%), lecturers’ preparedness (65.7%), lecturer’ classroom management (62.9%), and lecturers’ clarity of scoring rubric (54.4%). In addition, this study also discovers that the students at the English Department of FKIP Mataram University expected their lecturers to have a vast knowledge of the material subject, be friendly toward the students, have knowledge and ability in I.T. Lastly, the lecturers should be more understanding toward the students. The students in this study responded positively to the lecturers' teaching performance, which impacts their learning motivation and academic results.

This service aims to create Gubug Pintar as an educational initiative aimed at improving the English language skills of primary school-aged children in RW 008 Banjarsari Surakarta. English is an essential skill in the era of globalization, and introducing it early to children is a key step to provide them with wider future opportunities. However, many children in this community face barriers in access and limited resources for quality English learning. Through the creation of Gubug Pintar, it is hoped that an innovative, engaging and inspiring learning environment will be created for the children. The program will focus on teaching English vocabulary and will be organized in eight meetings with two meetings per week. Gubug Pintar will be a learning center that provides free access for children to improve their English skills through interactive learning methods. It is hoped that through this Gubug Pintar, children will develop a sense of enthusiasm for English learning, feel better prepared to continue their EFL (English as a Foreign Language) education, and acquire English skills that can help them in their educational and career journey. In addition, the program can also provide inspiration for other communities to take similar steps in improving English education at the primary level.

Writing is significantly essential for English as a foreign language and English as a second language. Students’ language learning has constantly been regarded as essential ability contributing to English learning. The purpose of this study was analyze factors contributing to students’ difficulties in paragraph writing course based on the students’ perceptions. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The instruments used were interview and documentation. This study, the participants’ answers were purposive sampling and analyzed descriptively. The participants were 60 students who were taking paragraph writing course in second semester academic year 2022/2023 in English Language Education Program  at IAIN Palangka Raya. The data analysis procedure of the research analysis were data condensation, demonstration, and verifying conclusion. The overall result based on the questionnaire, students found difficulties to use grammar. Based on the findings, there were two factors that caused students’ difficulties in writing. The two factors were internal and external. Internal factors consisted of self-motivation, self-confidence, lack of knowledge and feeling of under pressure External factors consisted of the teacher’s teaching style, classroom atmosphere, materials, and writing aspects. This research hopefully can help lecture in developing appropriate teaching techniques in writing and minimize students' difficulties in paragraph writing course.

The index card match method is the delivery of material by using game cards to match cards that have been cut and contain a grid or short words according to the subject matter. Through Index Card Match, students are directed to understand and know the messages contained in the learning material. This study aims the use of application of the index card match method to improve the English vocabulary of seventh-grade students at MTs Ma'arif Karangasem. In this study, the researcher used qualitative research, there are primary and secondary data, primary data was obtained through interviews and field observations at the research site, while secondary data was obtained through file documents from MTs Ma'arif Karangasem. Based on data shows the improvement in students' language through the index card method used and their enthusiasm for learning, this can be seen through the language used by class VII students, namely 50% Indonesian and 50% English used.

The aim of the study was to find out Student’s Perception about the Elsa speaking application was in teaching students how to pronounce words in English and providing phonetic transcriptions. It is qualitative research that collects results through the observations of researchers and questionnaires given to students. By providing the Elsa Speaking application with phonetic transcriptions that make it easy to learn English pronunciation and phonetics, with an exciting quiz view to make learning pronounces and phonetics fun, the Elsa Speaking application helps to learn transsyllabic phonics as well as practice the way it is spoken.

This service activity was carried out by several students from the English Language Education Study Program who are the administrators of the Pattimura University-PSDKU Study Program Student Association (HMPS), Southwest Maluku Regency, which was also attended by 3 lecturers. HMPS English Language Education, which is an internal student organization in campus, apart from organizing academic activity programs, HMPS also provides non-academic activity programs. One of them, HMPS has a role in carrying out Community Service activities which are oriented towards the school community through one of the field I programs "Field of Knowledge and Reasoning". This PKM is realized through learning actions in the classroom with several topics, namely "Transportation, Human Body Parts, and Introducing Yourself" in grades 4, 5 and 6 at SD Inpres Werwaru. Learning English, which is still a challenge today, especially at the elementary school level, is carried out through planned activities in creative ways that are varied and fun for the students. The implementation of PKM in this school was carried out well and received a positive response not only from the Headmaster and Teachers, but also the students expressed their high curiosity during the one more hour teaching and learning process. It is expected that, this activity will provide benefits for students to continue learning and can motivate themselves to learn English from an early age

The aim of this research is to analyse the suitable contents of the material in an English textbook entitled “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade students of Junior High School focused on the accuracy of the materials based on BSNP (Badan Standar Nasional Pendidikan) by using rubric assessment. The research design of the research is content analysis with descriptive qualitative. The result of the research showed that not all chapters of the textbook entitled “Think Globally Act Locally” were appropriated by the criteria according to BSNP. The researcher found that only 68.75% of the materials that fulfilled the rubric criteria of BSNP focused on the accuracy of the materials. From the result, the researcher concludes that based on the rubric assessment, the accuracy of the materials in the English textbook entitled “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade students of Junior High School appropriate with the content standard from BSNP and good to be used in the teaching learning process.

This research aim to determine differences of writing anxiety and the cause factors behind the anxiety suffered by male and female students. The study is a quantitative study and adapted two types of questionnaires to collect the required data, (Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory) by Cheng (2004) and CSLWAI (Cause of Second Language Writing Anxiety Inventory) by Rezaei and Jafari (2014). The subject of this study are 30 male students and 33 female students. The result showed that male students suffered cognitive anxiety, avoidance behavior anxiety and somatic anxiety. Meanwhile, female students suffered somatic anxiety and cognitive anxiety. Male students factors of writing anxiety are linguistic difficulties followed with writing techniques while female students only had writing techniques ad factors affecting their writing anxiety. In conclusion, male students had worse writing anxiety than female students. Therefore, develop teaching and learning method with the awareness of male and female students’ writing anxiety is highly recommended in order for students to be able to learn English language effectively.

The aim of this paper is to highlight the role of Lextutor an online software for achieving educational objectives. Lextutor is an online resource which presents a new teaching-learning environment and also offers a variety of activities for educators and learners to use it in English vocabulary classroom and to nurture independent learning. Since vocabulary becomes very fundamental in language learning, both speaking and writing and independent learning is currently popular and needs to be developed, educators and learners can use wordlists, online concordance and dictionary, and texts, which can be accessed in the available programs. In addition, Lextutor also serves database to store the work and view the others’ work. Most importantly, this online software comes up with the transformation to change the traditional setting of learning by giving inputs on DDL learning. It is expected that learners can be more independent and active in learning, enabling greater motivation and deeper learning. This paper reviews literature and gives scholarly background by reviewing some contributions and concepts made by experts in the related field. Furthermore, some benefits of using Lextutor are found in this research.

The ability to master English is one of the most important things for students in junior high school. Vocabulary mastery is important for students to succeed in learning and mastering English. The main purpose of this research was to find out whether there was any significant difference between students' vocabulary mastery before and after taught using Memrise application. The researcher used quantitative research and applied a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test. The sample consisted of 30 students. The researcher used SPSS to analyze the t-test. From the analysis, it showed that the value of Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05. Based on the analysis of the t-test and t-table value, it shows that the t-test score is 11,128, and the t-table value is 1.699. It means that the t-test value is higher than the t-table. It means that there is a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. Thus, it can be interpreted that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected.Thus, Teaching vocabulary using the Memrise application can improve students' vocabulary mastery. Therefore, the Memrise application is suitable to use as a media for learning and teaching English vocabulary.

This study is focused on exploring the strengths and weaknesses of the cooperative learning method in EFL classes according to 2 teachers' and 25 students’ perspectives. The data were collected from interviews, observation, and documentation. The interview data is collected by direct questioning. The findings were categorized into teachers' and students’ perspectives, which state that cooperative learning can facilitate teachers in teaching students effectively and make students able to gain self-confidence and motivation. However, the finding also revealed that cooperative learning is still lacking in managing the abilities of students who are not evenly distributed. The results showed that cooperative learning has both trade-offs in the classroom. Students feel more open to expressing their ideas, making the classroom atmosphere less monotonous and students more enthusiastic about learning. Teachers, on the other hand, feel helped when the material presented requires complicated explanations. Both students and teachers are more comfortable with a variety of methods, considering that cooperative learning has many different strategies that can be implemented by students. On the other hand, students and teachers also feel the problems of the method. It will be discussed further.

Nowadays, midwifery and medical work adopted many concepts, descriptions, and terminologies in English. As the demand of the curriculum in midwifery major, English took the magnificence role in facilitating students, preparation for professional requirements, trainings, and research. That was why English became the crucial part for midwifery students to research and practice their English in the real working field. The purpose of the research was to know that this research was expected to confirm and clarify the exposure and practice of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) through English oral presentation language testing gave the better solution to enhance the speaking skill of midwifery students at Medika Suherman University. The research applied the quantitative analysist that covered descriptive analysis statistic and the t – test. In order to achieve the objective of the research which was used the pre-test and the post-test as the tool to measure the speaking skill ability. The population of the research was 50 students midwife of the second semester at Medika Suherman University, Cikarang Bekasi. The sample of the population was 30 students midwife wahich was selected by purposive random technique. There were four meetings of learning and researching process during the experiment. Before the experiment was conducted, the students were given a pre-test. At the end of the experiment, the students did the post-test. The result of the research proved that the post-test scores were better that the pre-test score. The research concluded that the output of the paired test sample with the Sig. (2-tailed) score was 0.000 < 0.05. It stated that the H0 was rejected, and Ha was accepted. Moreover, it showed that there was an effect of the English oral presentation toward midwifery students’ speaking skill at Medika Suherman University. According to the result, after the exposure and practice of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) through the English oral presentation language testing, in fact, it was the one of the effective approaches to improve the students midwife speaking skill ability and enthusiasm in learning English at Medika Suherman University.

This study entitled Teacher’s Methods in Teaching English Vocabularies at Sixth Grade Students of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Denpasar. It aims to find out the methods used by the English teacher at SD Muhammadiyah 2 Denpasar and the obstacles faced by the teacher. This study used the interview method for collecting data. The data was collected through interviewing the English teacher at the sixth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 2 Denpasar. In addition, the interview was analyzed according to Richards and Rodgers (1986) in the book of Approaches and Methods of Language Teaching. The result of the analysis shows that the teacher uses the combination between audiolingual method and grammar translation method in teaching vocabularies. There were found several obstacles including the lack of students’ pronunciation and the lack of student’s memorization due to the limited time of study in class.
