Global economic uncertainty has raised concerns among the public, triggering actions to secure economic stability by investing, especially in gold and bitcoin. This study uses a comparative quantitative method, with the aim of comparing the returns, risks, and performance of the two investment instruments. The population in this study is in the form of data on the monthly closing prices of gold and bitcoin for the period of January 2019 – April 2025 which totals 152 data, consisting of 76 data from each variable. Data analysis was carried out by calculating returns, risks, Sharpe, Treynor and Jensen indices. The three indices are widely used performance measurement methods and have included return and risk factors in their measurements. The results of this study show that there is a significant difference between the return of gold and bitcoin, while for the risk variable between the two, there is no significant difference. Performance based on the Sharpe method also showed no significant difference between the two. However, for performance measurement using the Treynor and Jensen methods, significant differences were obtained between the two instruments. Overall, bitcoin offers higher profit potential than gold, even more so for investors who can accept high volatility. However, the decision to choose an investment instrument still depends on the risk profile of each investor.

The agricultural sector is one of the most important sectors. The majority of rice paddies serve as the main food commodity consumed by the community, making rice farming the majority in the agricultural sector. However, there are challenges in production such as low agricultural efficiency, limited access to resources, and dependence on traditional techniques. Therefore, strategies are needed to improve rice production that can impact the welfare and economy of farmers. The goal of this research is to analyze the condition of rice farming in Banten, specifically in Ciruas. It aims to identify the problems affecting production as well as the efforts that have been made by the government previously. Additionally, the research will provide strategies that are appropriate for increasing production yields and improving the welfare and economy of farmers. In this study, a qualitative research method was used with SWOT analysis method, along with data collection through primary data in the form of interviews and secondary data in the form of a Literature Review. The results showed that rice production in Banten declined to 298.84 thousand hectares and 1.52 million tons of GKG in 2024, but Ciruas District remains a rice granary despite facing many problems such as pests, low selling prices, drought, and extreme weather. Although various efforts have been made, such as training, provision of equipment, and water pumps, a SWOT analysis is needed to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and plan alternative actions to improve farmers' production yields. Thus, through the SWOT analysis method, it is hoped that paddy field production will increase sustainably, thereby supporting food security and the economic welfare of rural communities in Banten and Ciruas District.

The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) industry, such as Teras Steak, plays a significant role in strengthening the economy. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how price influences demand and to calculate price elasticity as a foundation for business decision-making. The methodology employed includes sales data analysis, customer satisfaction surveys, and interviews. The findings indicate that demand for Teras Steak’s products is highly sensitive, meaning that price changes have a significant impact on the quantity demanded. Therefore, pricing strategies must consider a balance between sales volume and profit. To enhance competitiveness and maintain customer loyalty, it is recommended to diversify products, innovate the menu, adjust prices according to market segments, and implement effective promotions. Understanding this elasticity is crucial to support sustainable business growth.

Energy subsidy policy has become one of the key strategies of the Indonesian government in its efforts to improve public welfare, particularly for low-income groups. By subsidizing fuel (BBM), 3-kg LPG, and electricity tariffs, the government aims to stabilize energy prices to make them more affordable for the poor. However, the effectiveness of this policy in achieving social welfare goals remains debatable, especially regarding the accuracy of subsidy distribution. This study aims to analyze the impact of energy subsidies on the welfare of poor households in Indonesia using both qualitative and quantitative approaches based on secondary data from BPS, the Ministry of Finance, and reports from international institutions such as the World Bank and the IMF. The analysis shows that although energy subsidies provide direct benefits by reducing the household expenses of the poor, a significant portion of the subsidies is actually enjoyed by middle- and high-income households. This unequal distribution reduces the effectiveness of subsidies as a tool for promoting welfare equity. Therefore, reform of energy subsidy policies is needed to improve targeting accuracy, such as by converting subsidies into direct cash transfers based on social data. These findings offer important implications for the formulation of more efficient and equitable fiscal and social protection policies in the future.

This study aims to analyze the legal protection afforded to UMKM against predatory pricing practices in social commerce, with a focus on the TikTok platform in Indonesia. Predatory pricing refers to a strategy of selling goods at extremely low prices with the intent to eliminate competitors, which poses a threat to the sustainability of UMKM in the digital market. As MSMEs increasingly adopt digitalization and utilize e-commerce platforms, the challenges related to unfair business competition practices have become more evident. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, examining the relevant regulations, including Law No. 5 of 1999 concerning the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition. The findings indicate that although regulations are in place, their implementation on digital platforms still faces various obstacles, such as weak supervision and difficulties in law enforcement. This study recommends enhancing oversight, providing education for UMKM, and simplifying legal procedures to strengthen the protection of MSMEs against predatory pricing in the digital era.

The purpose of this study is to determine the magnitude of the influence of inflation and interest rates on economic growth in Kupang City. The research used is quantitative research analyzed using the help of the SPSS (statistical package for the social sciences) time series data software program. The data collection for this study is secondary data from the East Nusa Tenggara Central Statistics Agency and Bank Indonesia in 2013-2022 in the form of quarters (time series) in NTT Province. The results of the study show that the results of the regression analysis, inflation does not have a significant effect on economic growth in Kupang City during the 2013-2022 period. The results of the partial test (t-test) show that changes in interest rates play a role in determining the dynamics of economic growth, where lower interest rates tend to encourage increased investment and consumption, while higher interest rates have the potential to restrain economic activity because they increase borrowing costs. The results of the simultaneous test (F test), inflation and interest rates have a significance value of less than 0.05, which means that both variables simultaneously play a role in determining economic growth. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 35.11% indicates that only a small portion of the variation in economic growth can be explained by inflation and interest rates. The remaining 64.89% is influenced by other factors outside the model, such as investment levels, government spending, unemployment rates, fiscal policies, and external factors such as global commodity prices and national economic conditions.

This study aims to understand the considerations of female consumers in making decisions to purchase skincare products with the main focus on the price aspect. The background of this research is based on the increasing competition in the skincare market and the shift in consumer preferences for products that are not only judged by quality, but also by affordability. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data was collected through in-depth interviews with six female informants who actively use skincare products and are domiciled in South Jakarta. The results show that perceptions of price are very diverse. Some consumers consider price as an indicator of quality, while others consider the economic value and effectiveness of the product more. Additionally, purchasing decisions are influenced by various factors such as income, skin needs, promotional strategies, and social media influence. In responding to prices, they also vary, ranging from waiting for promos to trying alternative brands that are more affordable. These findings reinforce Kotler and Keller's (2016) theory of personal and psychological factors in purchasing decisions, as well as being relevant to Monroe's theory of price perception. This research provides important implications for skincare business people in designing pricing and marketing strategies that are more adaptive to consumer behavior.

Global economic issues have significantly impacted national economic progress in recent decades, especially for developing countries such as Indonesia.  Currency exchange rates are one of the main variables that influence this economic process.  The performance of a country's external sector is largely determined by the exchange rate, which also affects a number of other macroeconomic factors.  The purpose of this study is to see how much Indonesia's economic growth is affected by the exchange rate between 1980 and 2023. Data from government agencies including the Central Bureau of Statistics and Bank Indonesia are used in this quantitative approach using a literature study approach.  The findings show that changes in the value of the rupiah, especially when depreciation occurs, have a significant influence on a number of economic factors, such as imports, exports, inflation, domestic investment, and consumption.  The competitiveness of Indonesian export goods in the global market increases with the depreciation of the exchange rate. At the same time, however, it also leads to higher prices for imported goods, increases the burden of foreign debt, and depresses people's purchasing power and domestic investment activity. The last five years of data reflect the fluctuating pattern of Indonesia's international trade, which is closely related to exchange rate conditions and global economic dynamics. Exchange rate instability creates economic uncertainty, which can hamper long-term growth. Therefore, stabilizing the exchange rate and strengthening the export sector are important strategies, supported by monetary and fiscal policies that are adaptive to global changes.
