Social and economic inequality in Indonesia is a multidimensional challenge that is not only reflected in the gap in income and wealth, but also in unequal access to education, health, and economic opportunities. The conventional economic system is considered ineffective in overcoming the problem of fair distribution of wealth, thus widening the gap between the rich and the poor. This article aims to analyze the concept of distributive justice in Islamic economics as a solution to social inequality in Indonesia, by highlighting the synergy of zakat, waqf, sharia financing instruments, and the role of government and society. The method used is a systematic literature review with a qualitative-narrative approach to various related academic works. The results of the study show that the application of the principle of distributive justice in Islamic economics through the optimization of zakat, waqf, and alms, as well as strengthening sharia economic regulations and literacy, can reduce social inequality and improve community welfare. The implementation of an inclusive and sustainable Islamic distribution model can reduce the Gini coefficient and strengthen social solidarity, although it still faces challenges in terms of regulation, literacy, and institutional coordination. The conclusion of the study confirms that Islamic economics offers concrete and holistic solutions to overcome social inequality in Indonesia through the integration of divine values, community participation, and state policies that support distributive justice.

Considering the current data-driven policies, economic disparities across metropolitan areas are an important factor to consider. This study focuses on a comparative analysis between the K-MEANS and DBSCAN algorithms in the process of clustering residents in Pulo Brayan Darat 1 Village, taking into account the economic conditions of each individual. Through this study, it is hoped that the more optimal algorithm for categorizing the community based on their economic well-being can be identified. A survey was used to collect data, including questions about income, number of children, and type of employment. The timing of implementation, interpretation of clustering findings, and the Silhouette Index were all used in the evaluation process. It is clear from the findings that DBSCAN can identify outliers and adapt better to irregular data patterns, while K-MEANS is faster and creates more organized clusters. This research offers lessons for policymakers in developing focused community welfare development programmers, which also aids in selecting an appropriate clustering system for socio-economic data.

This studyaims to examine the economic activities of low-income communities and identify factors that influence these activities in Tamaila Utara Village,Tolangohula Sub-district,Gorontalo Regency. The study employed a qualitative method using a systematic approach. Data collection techniques included observation, interview, and source triangulation.Data analysis involved data reduction followed by drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that most low-income residents in Tamaila Utara rely on agriculture, particularly corn farming, as their primary livelihood. Farming activities are supported by family members due to limited financial capacity to hire labor, and the tools used are still very simple or traditional. For crop distribution, the community depends on local traders who offer prices significantly lower than market rates, due to limited transportation access to larger markets. In terms of consumption, residents can only meet their basic needs, with low nutritional intake due to minimal income. Other challenges to improving the local economy include water scarcity during the dry season, low educational attainment among farmers, lack of government-provided training, and unpredictable weather and environmental conditions. Therefore, government support is urgently needed, such as irrigation development, agricultural training, and the provision of modern tools or technology to enhance community welfare in the future.

This research aims to examine the Islamic economic perspective on home-based businesses in improving the welfare of the people on Miang Island, as well as tracing their development and supporting and inhibiting factors. The method used is field research with a qualitative approach and descriptive techniques, with data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation from primary and secondary sources. The results show that home-based businesses make a real contribution to improving the community's economy by utilizing local potential and applying Islamic values such as honesty, trustworthiness, and fairness in their management. This business is growing rapidly and has become the main alternative to increase family income, while encouraging local economic empowerment. Family support in running the business provides efficiency and strengthens the sense of community, and is supported by community loyalty as regular customers. However, challenges faced include limited capital to expand the business, instability in raw material prices, and competition from larger businesses. These constraints often prevent businesses from increasing their production capacity and reaching a wider market.

JUREKSI (Journal of Islamic Economics and Finance) 2025 STIKes Ibnu Sina Ajibarang

In many developing countries today, the capitalist economic system still dominates. Not infrequently, this system causes various problems when applied in the governance of a country's economy. These problems generally arise because policies, regulations, and public financial management have not been directed at the principles of Islamic economics (sharia). In fact, the public economic system based on sharia provides guarantees for the fulfillment of state needs (income) and people's needs (expenditure). In addition, the rampant practice of misappropriation such as fraud and corruption has also caused the loss of public trust in public economic management. This condition contributes to the economic crisis and exacerbates the suffering of the people. Therefore, to solve these problems, the government needs to adopt a public economic concept based on Islamic values, because this system has been proven to be able to encourage justice and improve social welfare. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The findings in the study indicate that there are various sources of income in the Islamic economy that can be utilized as public finances, such as Ghanimah, Fa'i, Jizyah, Kharaj, Waqf, Nawaib, Zakat, Infak, Sedekah, and 'Usr. Meanwhile, state expenditure is allocated to fulfill basic community needs, state defense and administration, education, social security, and development of infrastructure and public facilities.   Keywords: Capitalism, Economic system, Public sector In many developing countries today, the capitalist economic system still dominates. This study aims to analyze the economic and social impacts within the environmental context on the sustainability of catfish farming in Basanah Village. Environmental issues such as water quality, land availability, and land-use changes have significantly affected aquaculture practices. Moreover, the social dynamics of the surrounding community, including patterns of cooperation, public perception of catfish farming, and economic impacts on farmers’ income and welfare, are central to the investigation. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving local farmers, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders. The findings reveal that economic aspects, such as production cost efficiency and income improvement, are highly dependent on stable environmental conditions and strong social support. Conversely, environmental degradation and weak social participation hinder business development. Therefore, participatory-based policies integrating sustainable environmental management with the strengthening of local socioeconomic capacities are urgently needed. This study offers a significant contribution as a foundation for formulating empowerment strategies for environmentally and socially-based small-scale aquaculture enterprises at the village level.

Community Service activities are a real form of students' social concern for their surroundings. This activity was carried out in Kampung Enam with the aim of sharing knowledge and skills with the community and students about how to turn seashell waste into handmade crafts that can be sold. We used a face-to-face approach through socialization and training, one of which was making wall decorations in the shape of flowers. Besides involving the local people, students also took part in this activity so they could develop economic independence. The results showed that seashell waste has promising potential, both economically and socially, especially if developed into small environmentally friendly businesses. Hopefully, activities like this can continue and become an example of how to develop local crafts and increase the income of the people around Kampung Enam, Tarakan.

Dangke is a local food product with high nutritional value that has become an inseparable part of the culture and economy of the community. It is made from traditional cheese typical of Enrekang Regency. Despite having great potential as a superior regional product, Dangke micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face various obstacles, especially regarding short product durability (expiration date), simple packaging, lack of product innovation, and less than optimal marketing reach. Therefore, strengthening branding and optimizing marketing is crucial to increasing the competitiveness and desirability of Dangke MSMEs. This community service aims to analyze existing conditions, formulate, and implement strategies to strengthen Dangke product branding. The implementation methods include initial surveys, SWOT analysis training, comprehensive training and education on branding (brand identity, visual design), as well as implementation assistance and evaluation of travel impacts. Participatory and community-based approaches are at the heart of this activity. The results of the community service are expected to increase Dangke brand awareness, encourage innovation of derivative products (for example, dangke crackers with innovative flavors and packaging), expand distribution channels (including digital marketing), and ultimately increase sales and income of Dangke MSMEs. This program also has the potential to strengthen the local economy, preserve cultural heritage, and become a model for developing traditional food products in other areas.

The purpose of this community service activity is to increase knowledge for mothers at the Garuda 04 Posyandu in Harapan Jaya Bekasi on how to use income to manage a balanced life between the needs of early childhood or toddlers and family needs. The results show that most members of the Garuda 04 Posyandu do not understand properly and correctly how to manage family income properly and correctly from the financial income they earn, such as the difference between needs and wants, budgeting, and the importance of saving and managing the fulfillment of toddler needs for the children they have. The training was conducted in one day with a participatory-educational approach and socialization. This method includes providing materials, group discussions, simulations, and reflections from each individual. The activities showed high active participation from participants and were actively involved in the discussions that were carried out. This socialization provides evidence that an experience-based approach can effectively increase understanding and awareness of the importance of financial management that they are facing.
