This research focuses on a phenomenological study of the gender struggles of seminary candidates. Sexuality and celibacy have been the subject of ongoing debate and research in religious contexts, particularly in Catholicism, where celibacy is an important part of the spiritual life of priests and priesthood candidates. The aim of this research is to determine the perceptions and experiences of prospective pastors in developing their sexual lives. The methodology used in this research is a phenomenological study by interviewing college pastors. From these sources, their experiences in managing sexuality were explored. This research concludes that human and spiritual maturity makes the sexuality of prospective priests healthier. A healthy appreciation of sexuality causes prospective priests to grow in human, spiritual, intellectual, pastoral and communal intelligence.

Pastoral ministry is not the exclusive property of the clergy but the laity are actively involved. Because everyone who has been baptized has the dignity of imami, rajawi and prophethood. So all believers, both Imam and Layman, have the same vocation but in different roles and positions without one surpassing and dominating the other. Each received the light of guidance from the one and the same Spirit. The Second Vatican Council understood the Church as an Organizational and juridical unity not only but rather as a unity of faith built together by all the Catholic faithful. The Church must be placed on the fact that its members are varied in everything but united in Jesus Christ.

Nostra Aetate or the Declaration on the relation of the church with Non-Chrisian religions, is an official declaration of the Vatican II, an ecumenical council of the Catholic Church. Several attitudes that limit themselves in community activities and the community’s low understanding of local traditions are problems in research. One of the traditions that is maintained to build harmony between religious communities is the Nyadran tradition. To discuss this problem, researchers used qualitative methods with ethnographic studies. Research used data triangulation, purposive sampling techniques.1) The data results show, that the Nyadran tradistion does not deviate from Church teachings because it is interpreted as praying for deceased ancestors to obtain resurrection and eternal life with the Father in Heaven by expressing gratitude through a meal. Some parties restrict themselves due to religious teachings, locals uphold traditions without interpretation. 2) The Nostra Aetate declaration highlights Church acceptance of Nyadran tradition to promote societal well-being and environmental safety. 3)In social and pastoral life the Church has also implemented what is stated in the Nostra Aetate of declaration. Through the Nyadran tradition, people feel the negative impacts of modernization but also feel the positive impacts in the form of tolerance and spiritual connection.

The development of digital technology has affected various aspects of life, including in the Catholic Church. The Church sees that it is time and must be brave to adapt to digital media. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of digital catechesis in building the faith of Catholics in Nias Deanery, Sibolga Diocese. Using descriptive qualitative research method, the informants consisted of catechists and pastoral personnel. The results showed that the use of digital media in the Nias Deanery is quite high, but the implementation of digital catechesis is still low. Although challenges such as unstable internet networks and lack of digital skills exist, there are great opportunities to maximise the use of digital media as a means of teaching the faith. Therefore, the Church needs to provide training and support in the use of digital media to increase the effectiveness of catechesis among parishioners.

Abstract. Research shows that leadership plays an important role in improving and reforming schools and education systems in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Mustiningsih, Maisyaroh, and Ulfatin 2019). In the context of the digital industrial revolution, leaders are not only responsible for academic performance and the proper functioning of schools but are also responsible for all activities carried out by schools (Kurniawan et al. 2023). This revolution includes automation and digitalization of all aspects of the industry to create products that meet consumer needs (Lanang Putra et al. 2021). This revolution also presents challenges for tax reform, including integrating various changes caused by digitalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Mayasari and Narsa 2020). In the field of education, leadership abilities in understanding and using digital knowledge are very important to support learning activities in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Sugiarto and Dewantara 2021). The leadership qualities demonstrated by Christ are very important for pastors in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to be able to lead effectively and overcome challenges (Eppang 2022). The fourth industrial revolution offers opportunities to increase savings and reduce consumption through the development of e-commerce and the digital economy (Suwardana 2018). In addition, this Revolution has also changed job design, job structure, and required skills, thereby increasing the demand for people with different skills (David 2021). Finally, business orientation, digital capabilities, leadership skills, and the environment influence business decisions (Justin and Handoyo 2023).

This research aims to determine the influence of pastoral care on the involvement of people in diaconal duties. The research method used is a qualitative method through in-depth interviews with several sources involved in diakonia tasks. The research results show that pastoral care has a significant role in increasing people's awareness of the call to serve, providing the skills and knowledge needed to carry out diaconal duties effectively. Pastoral care acts as the main bridge in carrying out Christ's mission to gather those who need service. Through pastoral care, people feel restored in their faith, receive spiritual and practical support, and become involved in church services. Although this goal is sometimes difficult to achieve, pastoral care can increase people's involvement in diaconal duties with direct impacts in the form of growth in faith, new awareness, personality development, and optimism in living life. However, the influence of pastoral care on community involvement is not yet visible, because there are other influencing factors. Suggestions from this research are the need to further increase people's understanding of pastoral care, strengthen personal relationships between pastors and people, and develop spiritual education programs to understand the importance of diakonia and encourage active involvement in church services.

The focus of this study is to understand the Book of Canon Law as the internal legal basis of the Catholic Church which regulates ecclesiastical governance and discipline. In the context of its place, the Book of Canon Law has a central role as an instrument that regulates various aspects of ecclesiastical life, from hierarchical organization to liturgy. Its role extends beyond administrative boundaries, making it an important guide in carrying out pastoral duties and maintaining ecclesiastical discipline. The role of the Book of Canon Law is not only limited to internal ecclesiastical aspects, but also influences the church's relationship with wider society. This book reflects the role of the church in regulating the spiritual and moral life of Catholics and maintaining doctrinal integrity. The function of the Code of Canon Law is also to facilitate conflict resolution and uphold justice among church members. The author uses descriptive analysis methods and the Book of Canon Law as a scalpel to explain the contents of the article that will be discussed. In the midst of dynamic social and cultural change, the Code of Canon Law becomes relevant in interpreting and applying moral and ethical principles, which are appropriate in the contemporary context. The harmony between these principles and the challenges of modern times is an integral part of the role and function of the Code of Canon Law in maintaining the identity and mission of the Catholic Church.
