Kampung Mosso is one of the villages located in the Jayapura city government area and is a border area between the Republic of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. The people in Kampung Mosso work as farmers. The agricultural commodities cultivated in the village are sago, corn, bananas, cassava, etc. However, agriculture in the village is still only to meet the needs of life. Not many people in the village have cultivated agriculture, especially food crops, optimally. Therefore, this community service will try to offer a solution, namely training in the use of home ground land as a strategy to increase food security in border areas. The results of this community service showed that two groups of people in Kampung Mosso were able to cultivate fish and vegetables in buckets, but another group was not able to cultivate fish and vegetables in buckets. The suggestion that needs to be done from this activity is intensive assistance and monitoring to several community groups so that they become more proficient in agricultural and fisheries cultivation.

With the rapid increase in global population and the ongoing depletion of agricultural land, food security faces an escalating threat. CRISPR genetic engineering technology offers immense potential to enhance crop resilience and productivity. However, its application raises significant ethical concerns, both from a bioethical perspective and within the framework of Islamic values. This article examines core principles of bioethics and Islamic ethics to explore the morally conscious integration of genetic technology. Through a comprehensive literature review, it underscores the necessity of a collaborative approach involving scientists, policymakers, and religious leaders to establish ethical guidelines for its responsible use. The findings highlight the critical need to strike a balance between technological innovation and the preservation of moral principles. By adhering to ethical standards rooted in both modern bioethics and Islamic teachings, genetic technologies such as CRISPR can be harnessed to address food security challenges by improving crop productivity and fortifying resistance to diseases and extreme environmental stressors, without compromising moral integrity.

Increasing population density and concretization in urban areas, such as Magelang City, have caused a significant decrease in green open spaces (RTH), which has an impact on food security and independence. Magelang City, with a population density of 7,361 people/km², faces a major challenge in providing adequate green spaces to support local food production. Rejowinangun Selatan Village, as one example, shows the limited green open spaces available. To overcome this problem, urban farming, especially through hydroponic techniques, offers an effective solution. The methods applied in this community service include various approaches to educate and directly involve the community in the practice of making hydroponics with solar panels. By utilizing renewable energy-based technology, such as solar panels and integrated electrical systems, hydroponic farming allows food production in limited spaces such as house terraces. This system not only increases food independence and security, but also ensures that the vegetables produced are healthier because of the minimal use of pesticides. Urban farming with the hydroponic method can optimize the use of limited space and become a productive and sustainable alternative for urban communities.

The rapid development of technology increases the need for effective and efficient information. Information that is not managed properly loses value, especially when large amounts of data are available, making conventional methods no longer adequate to analyze the potential of the data. Therefore, a system capable of analyzing, summarizing, and extracting data into useful information is required. The Department of Agriculture and Food Security, as an agency that handles food security, agriculture, animal husbandry, animal health, and fisheries, is responsible for supporting the increase in agricultural yields to meet the food needs of the population and encourage economic growth. To achieve this goal, the agency needs to utilize technology to process agricultural data quickly and accurately. The system built using the apriori method can analyze data efficiently and provide recommendations for increasing agricultural yields. Based on the test results, a support value of 9% and a confidence of 68% were obtained, with the rule If the crop is Cassava, then the production yield is 6000-8000 tons.

This community service program was conducted in Rantau Panjang Kiri Village, Riau, with the goal of enhancing food security through chili cultivation as the main commodity. The village faces significant challenges in food security due to heavy reliance on rice as the staple crop, making it vulnerable to climate change and market price fluctuations. To address these issues, training and mentoring were provided to farmers to develop their skills in sustainable chili cultivation. The program involved a series of phases including socialization, practical training, and evaluation. Socialization aimed to provide a basic understanding of the importance of crop diversification, while hands-on training focused on chili cultivation techniques, ranging from seed selection and land preparation to pest and disease control. Evaluation was conducted to measure the improvement in participants' knowledge and skills, as well as the impact of the program on chili production in the village. The results of the program showed a significant increase in farmers' understanding and skills regarding chili cultivation, as well as an increase in harvest yields, which helped strengthen the village's food security. Additionally, the program successfully raised farmers' awareness of the importance of optimal land use and reduced dependency on rice. Thus, this community service program not only supports local food security but also improves farmers' economic welfare through agricultural commodity diversification.

Sababilah Village in Dusun Selatan District, South Barito Regency, has great potential to increase food security through optimal resource management. With lowland topography and a tropical climate, this village has fertile soil that is ideal for various plants. The 2024 Real Work Lecture Program (KKN-T) from Palangka Raya University focuses on developing food security by planting various plants using innovative planting media containers such as drinking water glasses and providing technical assistance in watermelon harvesting. The results of the activity show that this agricultural technique is effective in utilizing local resources and increasing crop yields. To increase success, it is recommended that villages expand modern agricultural training, involve communities more actively, and develop local markets for agricultural products. Two important factors in preventing foodborne illness are food hygiene and sanitation. These efforts can reduce the risk of bacterial contamination of food. Some examples of hazardous materials in food are plastics, metals, borax, formalin, insecticides, and banned food additives such as benzoic acid, ascorbic acid, lactic acid, and citric acid. The objective of this outreach is to increase knowledge about food safety and how to manage it. The method of counseling to the general public includes coordination with the head of the RT, providing materials, giving pre- and post-tests, and evaluating activities carried out at the RT head's house on June 1, 2024 at 16.00-17.30. The results of this activity were an increase in pre and post-test scores on questions regarding storage temperature and the main purpose of food storage, from 50 to 70 and 95 to 100. The conclusion of this counseling is that there is an increase in housewives' knowledge about food safety on a household scale. Suggestions for further counseling are to increase the number of targets so that more housewives understand the importance of household-scale food safety.
