Introduction: Bronchopneumonia is an inflammatory lung condition involving one or more lobes, characterized by patchy infiltrates commonly caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae (30–50% of cases), followed by Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae in more severe infections. Clinical manifestations include high fever, restlessness, dyspnea, rapid and shallow breathing accompanied by rales, vomiting, and either dry or productive cough. Respiratory infections may trigger inflammatory responses that increase excessive mucus production. Case Illustration: A 1-year-5-month-old girl weighing 7.9 kg presented to RSUD Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo with shortness of breath and intermittent fever for six days, accompanied by vomiting, decreased appetite and fluid intake, cough, weakness, runny nose, and oral sores. Physical examination revealed a weak general condition, compos mentis consciousness, dyspnea, wheezing, and fine wet rales in both lung bases. Dysmorphic facial features consistent with Down syndrome were observed. Laboratory findings showed leukopenia, eosinopenia, and elevated RDW-CV, while chest radiography indicated bilateral bronchopneumonia. Management included intravenous fluids, antibiotics, antipyretics, antiemetics, and bronchodilators. The patient was diagnosed with sixth-day fever due to bronchopneumonia, mild-to-moderate dehydration, recurrent nausea and vomiting, atrial septal defect, and Down syndrome.

This study aims to examine the judge's considerations in rendering decisions in aggravated theft cases at the Medan District Court, with an emphasis on the balance between legal and non-legal aspects in realizing substantive justice. The issue of disparate sentencing that frequently arises is the main background of this study. The methods used are an integrated normative legal approach and an empirical legal approach. The normative approach is used to examine the provisions of Article 363 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and the legal principles that govern the judge's considerations, while the empirical approach is carried out through direct observation of the trial process and analysis of the judge's decision. The results of the study indicate that the judge in case Number 1110/Pid. B/2025/PN Medan not only complied with legal aspects such as fulfilling the elements of the crime, evidence, and the application of the principle of legality, but also considered non-legal aspects such as the socio-economic conditions, age, and motives of the defendant. These considerations demonstrate the application of the principles of criminal individualization and proportional justice. In addition, the judge also considered moral values and social benefits in his decision, which is in line with Gustav Radbruch's theory of three basic legal values: justice, legal certainty, and utility. This study concludes that the thinking patterns of judges at the Medan District Court reflect a shift toward substantive and restorative justice paradigms. It is recommended that the Supreme Court strengthen integrated sentencing guidelines to avoid disparities in sentencing and encourage the adoption of a rehabilitative approach for offenders with low economic motivations.

The reform of family law in Indonesia represents an essential response to social developments and the growing demand for constitutional protection of citizens’ rights. Family law, primarily governed by Law Number 1 of 1974 on Marriage, has long been criticized for not fully reflecting substantive justice, particularly for vulnerable groups such as children born outside marriage, persons with mental disabilities, and couples facing complex marital relations. In this context, the Constitutional Court of Indonesia (Mahkamah Konstitusi) plays a crucial role as the guardian of the Constitution by promoting progressive reforms through its landmark decisions. This study examines the implications of five significant Constitutional Court rulings: Decision No. 46/PUU-VIII/2010 concerning the legal recognition of children born out of wedlock; Decision No. 93/PUU-XX/2022 addressing guardianship and the rights of persons with mental disabilities; Decision No. 69/PUU-XIII/2015 allowing post-nuptial agreements; and Decisions No. 68/PUU-XII/2014 and No. 24/PUU-XX/2022 regarding interfaith marriage. These rulings demonstrate a paradigm shift from a rigid legalistic approach toward a constitutional framework grounded in human rights, equality, and substantive justice. Furthermore, notaries hold a strategic position as public officials authorized to draft authentic deeds, serving as a bridge between constitutional values and legal practice. Notaries are not merely administrative actors but are responsible for ensuring that legal documents align with positive law and provide legal certainty and protection for individuals. Therefore, the reform of Indonesian family law should not remain solely at the normative level of Constitutional Court rulings but must be effectively implemented in daily legal practice.

Vibrio sp. is one of the main pathogenic bacteria causing various diseases in whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation, such as vibriosis, which can reduce the survival rate and productivity of ponds. Environmentally friendly Vibrio control efforts can be achieved through the use of probiotics. One widely used probiotic is Lactobacillus sp., which is known to suppress the growth of pathogenic bacteria through competition for space and nutrients, production of antimicrobial compounds (bacteriocins and organic acids), and increased shrimp non-specific immunity. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of administering different doses of Lactobacillus sp. in suppressing Vibrio sp. populations in whiteleg shrimp cultivation media. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications: control (A), 6 ppm lactobacillus sp (B), 12 ppm (C), and 18 ppm (D). The parameter observed was the Total Vibrio Count (TVC) in the culture water after 24 hours of lactobacillus administration.

This study aims to explore the influence of formal language skills on the use of slang among first-semester students in the English Language and Literature Education Program at Muhammadiyah University Maumere. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with subjects consisting of first-year students. Information was collected through observation, questionnaire distribution, and brief interviews about daily language use habits and academic contexts. The findings of this study indicate that the majority of students actively use slang when interacting informally, especially when communicating with peers and on social media platforms. The use of slang serves as a way to express identity, build social solidarity, and facilitate social adjustment. However, deficiencies in formal language skills make it difficult for some students to recognize the appropriate use of language in context, so that elements of slang often creep into academic situations, such as in class discussions and assignment writing. This study concludes that formal language skills have an impact on the use of slang. Students with high formal language skills tend to be better at switching between language varieties according to context, while those with low formal skills are at greater risk of mixing them up.

Helminth infections caused by Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) and Taenia sp. remain a major public health concern in tropical regions, including Indonesia, particularly among elementary school children. This study aimed to identify the presence of eggs and larvae of intestinal nematodes and cestodes in fecal samples collected from elementary school children in Bekoso Village, East Kalimantan. The research employed a descriptive survey method with a cross-sectional approach, and laboratory examinations were conducted using the Kato-Katz technique. A total of 16 fecal samples were examined to detect Ascaris lumbricoides, hookworm, and Taenia sp. eggs. The results showed that 12.5% of samples were positive for hookworm eggs, 12.5% for Taenia sp. eggs, and 6.25% for Ascaris lumbricoides eggs. These findings indicate that poor personal hygiene and inadequate environmental sanitation contribute to an increased risk of intestinal helminth transmission. The study highlights the importance of preventive efforts through the promotion of clean and healthy living behaviors, consistent use of footwear, handwashing with soap, and community participation in mass deworming programs to reduce the prevalence of intestinal helminth infections among elementary school children.

First-year university students undergo a transitional phase from the school environment to the academic, social, and emotional demands of higher education. This transition often triggers stress when not supported by an adequate social environment. Peer support plays an essential role in this adaptation process by providing emotional support, information, and a sense of belonging. Positive peer relationships can help students manage academic pressure, whereas poor peer interactions may increase the risk of stress. Therefore, peer support serves as a protective factor in maintaining the psychological well-being of first-year students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. Data were collected using the Peer Support Questionnaire (PSQ) and the Student-Life Stress Inventory (SSI) from 130 first-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UNISSULA. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using the Gamma correlation test to determine the relationship between the variables. The Gamma test revealed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted, meaning there is a significant relationship between peer support and stress levels among first-year students. The correlation coefficient of –0.737 indicates a strong negative relationship, suggesting that higher peer support is associated with lower stress levels. There is a significant and strong relationship between peer support and stress levels among first-year students at the Faculty of Pharmacy, UNISSULA.

This study examines the relationship between Dayak cosmology and Christian spirituality through the inculturation of the Munjong tradition within Catholic Dayak Tobak communities in Dusun Batu Besi, Desa Sejotang, West Kalimantan. As a post-harvest thanksgiving ritual, Munjong embodies a symbolic framework reflecting the interconnectedness of humans, nature, ancestors, and Jebata within the Dayak worldview. The tradition functions not only as a religious expression but also as a means of preserving cultural identity and fostering social cohesion. Within a predominantly Catholic context, Munjong has undergone reinterpretation, aligning with Eucharistic spirituality as the Church’s central expression of gratitude. Using a descriptive-qualitative approach combined with symbolic interaction analysis, this study shows that the religious values embedded in Munjong, including: gratitude, petitions for protection, and veneration of ancestors as spiritual mediators, correspond with Catholic teachings on divine providence, the communion of saints, and the sacredness of creation. The local Church recognizes Munjong as a cultural practice suitable for inculturation, provided it aligns with Christian doctrine, thereby offering opportunities for contextual liturgy and catechesis. The findings suggest that Munjong can serve as a bridge between faith and local culture while simultaneously reinforcing cultural identity and deepening the spiritual life of the community. The result of this study contributes to the discourse on inculturation, contextual pastoral practice, and strategies for sustaining indigenous traditions amid social change.
