This study examines the effect of leverage on the profitability of PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk during the 2020–2024 period. Using a causal research method with secondary data obtained from financial reports published on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the study analyzes the relationship between Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) as the leverage indicator and Return on Assets (ROA) as the profitability indicator. The results indicate a significant negative relationship between leverage and profitability. Increased DER is associated with a decrease in ROA, suggesting that excessive debt reduces financial performance due to higher interest costs and financial risks. This study contributes to the understanding of leverage's impact on profitability in the manufacturing sector, offering valuable insights for corporate management, investors, and academics. Recommendations include enhancing operational efficiency and optimizing debt management strategies to improve long-term profitability

The purpose of this research is to analyze the correlation between capital structure, profitability, and stock market value, proxied by the price-to-book ratio. The capital structure variable is measured using DER, while profitability is measured using the ROA. In this study, the data used comes from the financial statements of property and real estate companies listed on the IDX during the period of 2020 to 2023. This study applies multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS to process data obtained from 22 purposively selected companies over four years. The research concludes that capital structure and profitability are crucial factors that can influence stock prices. These results indicate that companies need to focus on improving profitability and maintaining healthy debt management to enhance their value in the eyes of investors. Additionally, investors should not rely solely on the PBV when evaluating investment prospects.

This study comprehensively investigates the empirical impact of capital structure, profitability, and asset growth on the value of companies in the retail sector on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the post-pandemic economic recovery phase (2021–2024). Adopting a quantitative methodology with purposive sampling of 12 entities (N=48), parameters were estimated using multiple linear regression after passing a rigorous classical assumption test including normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. By proxiesizing the capital structure through Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), profitability through Return on Assets (ROA), and total asset growth to Price to Book Value (PBV), this study reveals the phenomenon of  market undervaluation with an average PBV of 0.17. The results of statistical tests confirm that these financial determinants partially and simultaneously have a significant influence on shaping the firm value. These findings provide a theoretical contribution regarding the relevance of funding policy and operational efficiency as crucial signals for investors in a volatile market landscape. The practical implications emphasize the importance of optimizing financial structure and operational performance to strengthen market confidence during the global economic transition period.

Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that in the profitability assessment only the return on assets ratio had reached the efficient criteria, while the net profit margin and return on equity ratios were considered inefficient. In assessing liquidity, the current ratio and quick ratio are not yet liquid. Activity assessment through inventory ratios, fixed asset turnover and total asset turnover is considered to have not met the efficient level each year. Meanwhile, in the solvency assessment, it was found that the overall ratios used, namely the debt to asset ratio and the debt to equity ratio, met good criteria.

In the financial industry, bank performance is one of the main indicators of health. One method for evaluating bank operations is to use metrics to measure profitability, which is usually called ROA or profit assets. ROA is a capability metric; a business makes money by using all its resources and skills. A bank will make more money and have a better asset utilization position if its return on assets (ROA) is higher. Financial consolidation has become a crucial strategy for multinational companies in addressing increasingly intense global competition. It is often employed as a primary approach to expand market reach and drive corporate growth, ultimately affecting liquidity, equity-earning based measures, and profitability. This study specifically examines the impact of consolidation on a company's liquidity, equity-earning based metrics, and profitability using financial ratio analysis, including Current Ratio (CR), Earnings Per Share (EPS), and Net Profit Margin (NPM) as key indicators. Adopting a quantitative approach, the research utilizes secondary data from the financial statements of PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk before and after consolidation in 2023. The methods applied include a comparison of financial statement items pre- and post-consolidation and a literature review relevant to financial performance analysis. The data analysis results reveal that post-consolidation, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk recorded an increase in liquidity ratio (current ratio) by 15.26%, reaching 1.9171, and an equity-earning based ratio (earnings per share) rise of 53.74% to 0.001309, which positively impacted the company. However, profitability ratio (net profit margin) declined by 22.81% to 0.1028, indicating challenges in cost management and operational efficiency following the consolidation.

Profit growth is the rate of increase in profit obtained by a company. Profit growth is an important factor in assessing a company's financial performance. This study aims to examine the effect of financial ratios on profit growth in infrastructure sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2019-2022. The research sample used was 20 companies with 80 observation samples. The financial ratios used are liquidity, solvency, profitability, and activity ratios. These financial ratios are proxied by the Current Ratio (CR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Return on Assets (ROA), and Total Asset Turnover (TAT), respectively. Testing was carried out using multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it is known that the profitability ratio proxied by Return on Assets (ROA) has a positive effect on profit growth and the activity ratio proxied by Total Asset Turnover (TAT) has a negative effect on profit growth. Other results, namely the liquidity ratio proxied by the Current Ratio (CR) and the solvency ratio proxied by the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) have no effect on profit growth. These results mean that the profitability ratio and activity ratio can be determinants of profit growth predictors and can be a reference for investors to make investment decisions.

The solvency ratios remain low, indicating a reliance on equity rather than debt, with fluctuations in these ratios reflecting the stability of this reliance. Activity ratios show stability with slight decreases, while Inventory Turnover and Receivable Turnover experienced fluctuations and declines, respectively. Profitability performance increased significantly, reflecting improvements in operational efficiency and profitability during the study period.

This research aims to underscore the significance of women's emotional intelligence in enhancing the effectiveness of the Board of Directors, a crucial component of internal governance, particularly during crises. Despite strides made in recent decades in appointing women to senior roles in government, business, and education, challenges persist in improving women's leadership opportunities, especially in developing countries. The study utilizes statistical methods, including Pearson's correlation, to analyze the relationships between variables within a sample of banks listed on the Iraqi securities market, comparing periods before and during the COVID-19 pandemic (2019 and 2020). The goal is to measure the impact of female emotional intelligence on the Board of Directors' ability to manage crises, focusing on variables such as conservative accounting policies, Board compensation and benefits, meeting frequency, the ratio of external auditor fees to enterprise capital, enterprise capital, share profitability, and the market-to-share profitability ratio. Findings indicate that emotional intelligence (measured by the number of females on the Board) positively influences conservative accounting policies and meeting frequency during crisis periods. Conversely, the pre-crisis period showed a negative relationship, suggesting a proactive and risk-responsive stance by women during crisis. Additionally, the study observed an inverse relationship between crisis periods and both Board compensation and external auditor fee ratios, implying a cost-reduction strategy facilitated by female emotional intelligence. The crisis period also saw an increase in the profitability of individual shares and the market-to-share profitability ratio. The research recommends expanding the study to compare the role of emotional intelligence in Boards between developing and developed economies.
