Land ownership disputes without rights are a common land issue that disrupts legal certainty for legitimate landowners. Although the national land law system has regulated land registration and the issuance of certificates as forms of legal protection, in practice conflicts are still found between physical possession and legal ownership. This research aims to analyze the legal status of the rightful landowner and the forms of legal protection in land ownership disputes without rights. The research method used is normative legal research with a statutory approach and a conceptual approach, examining Law Number 5 of 1960 concerning Basic Agrarian Regulations, Government Regulation Number 24 of 1997, and Government Regulation Number 18 of 2021. The research results show that land ownership certificates have strong evidentiary power and place the legitimate landowner in a more protected legal position, while unauthorized land possession does not gain legal legitimacy and can be qualified as an unlawful act. Therefore, legal protection for legitimate landowners must be consistently enforced to achieve legal certainty and justice in the field of land ownership.

Violence against children remains a serious violation of human rights that continues to occur in various social environments, including religious-based educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools, where children are in a highly vulnerable position both physically and psychologically. One case that drew public attention occurred at the Pesona Al-Qur’an Islamic Boarding School in Pesawaran Regency, which was resolved through a restorative justice approach without proceeding to court. This study aims to examine the mechanism of law enforcement against perpetrators of child abuse at the institution and to analyze the factors hindering the implementation of restorative justice in such cases. Using a normative-empirical research method, this study analyzes applicable laws and regulations supported by field data obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results show that law enforcement was carried out through an investigation by the Pesawaran Resort Police, followed by the termination of prosecution by the Pesawaran District Prosecutor’s Office based on Regulation of the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia Number 15 of 2020 concerning the Termination of Prosecution Based on Restorative Justice. Case resolution was conducted through mediation involving the perpetrator, the victim, and their families, facilitated by law enforcement officers, resulting in an agreement in the form of an apology and compensation to the victim. However, the implementation of restorative justice still faces several obstacles, including limited public understanding, concerns about the loss of deterrent effects, power imbalances between victims and perpetrators, potential pressure on victims to accept reconciliation, and weak supervision of post-mediation agreements; therefore, strengthening oversight, improving the understanding of law enforcement officers and the community, and optimizing the role of child protection institutions are essential to ensure that restorative justice truly prioritizes the best interests of the child and provides substantive justice.

This study aims to analyze Indonesia’s foreign policy in the G20 Bali Leaders’ Declaration of 2022 by mapping national interests to understand the direction and priorities of Indonesian diplomacy amid complex global geopolitical dynamics. Employing a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach and the Rational Choice Theory framework, this research examines how Indonesia, as G20 Presidency, conducted rational calculations between domestic interests and external pressures—particularly regarding the Russia–Ukraine conflict. The findings reveal that Indonesia successfully embedded its national interests into four main dimensions: non-traditional security, strategic economy (energy transition, digitalization, food security), an inclusive global order, and ideological values rooted in the free and active principle. These were effectively integrated into the final declaration. Through an active-inclusive diplomatic strategy including shuttle diplomacy and carefully neutral diplomatic language Indonesia maintained consensus despite deep geopolitical polarization. This demonstrates that Indonesia’s foreign policy during its G20 Presidency was the result of deliberate rational choice, not only addressing global challenges but also reinforcing its role as a credible middle power and bridge-builder. The study contributes theoretically to rationality-based foreign policy analysis and offers practical insights for future Indonesian multilateral diplomacy.

The energy that is stored in water can be used to generate electricity by taking advantage of the potential energy available, like the energy from waterfalls and the movement of flowing water. Micro-hydropower plants (PLTMH) are one solution to address the energy crisis, particularly in electricity. VDI 2221 is a method that German engineers use as a guideline when designing construction projects. The VDI (Verein Deutsher Ingeneure or German Engineers Association) design process involves several stages: task description, design concept determination, physical design, and detailed design. Based on the solution principle matrix table, 3 variants were obtained, each of which has criteria. Of the 3 variants that have been evaluated, variant 2 was obtained with results that met the requirements. The cost analysis table shows that the total cost for designing a prototype test equipment for a micro-hydroelectric power plant (PLTMH) based on a laboratory-scale crossflow turbine is Rp 10,032,000. This cost includes instrumentation, control and electrical panels, measuring instruments, pipe instruments, frame and casing, and unforeseen costs.

Attention span and cognitive focus in young minds these days are increasingly structured by the growing influence of digital distractions. Drawing from the ideas of Foucault and Nietzsche, this paper examines how technology molds behavior and, at the same time, is used as a tool of control through power relations. This digitally fosters a form of nihilism, the sense life has no purpose. By using a mixed-methods approach, this research combines the surveying and in-depth interviewing of students and instructors about how technology influences attention, learning, and academic performance. Results indicate that while technology brings many benefits, it also provides significant challenges-most notably via social media and smartphone distractions. These distractions reduce attention spans, decrease deep learning, and contribute to cognitive overload. This study therefore calls for the integration of technology into education in a balanced way, highlighting digital literacy, mindful use, and distraction-reduction strategies. In the process, self-awareness, self-regulation, and responsible use will allow people to use its benefits rather than fall into disengagement and cynicism. Technology should serve as a tool for learning and growth-not a barrier to focus and intellectual development.

Vaping is when you inhale a mist through a power based device, filled with flavourings, chemicals, and nicotine (Texas Health and Human Services, nd). Teenagers tend to vape due to external influences such as advertisements and social interactions, which has a significant contribution in the role of gaining societal acceptance of vaping amongst teenagers (CDC, nd). However its use in teenagers is illegal as per the Indonesian Government Regulation Number 109 2012, which restricts individuals below 18 years old from vaping. A study conducted in 2018 has reported that teenagers have started vaping from 2017. Despite rules and regulations, teenagers are still able to access it which makes the law enforcement ineffective that leads to teenagers being able to have access to vapes. This research will investigate the influence of social media and peer pressure on underage vaping, focusing on how contents on social media, their peers along with social interactions shape the perspective and behaviour of a teenager towards vaping. This following topic is important as social media plays a significant role in the normalisation of vaping despite harmful effects. It aims to recognize how social media and interactions among fellow peers influence a teenager. With the use of qualitative and quantitative methods such as surveys and interviews, it will also apply theories from 3 thinkers to have a better understanding of a teenager’s decision.

The investigation stage constitutes a crucial phase in the criminal justice system, as it determines the direction and quality of subsequent law enforcement processes. Within the context of Indonesian criminal procedural law, the Criminal Procedure Code (Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Acara Pidana/KUHAP) grants extensive authority to law enforcement officials, particularly investigators, in order to ensure the effective disclosure of criminal offenses. However, such dominance of authority has the potential to create an imbalance between the interest of law enforcement effectiveness and the protection of human rights, especially when it is not accompanied by adequate mechanisms of limitation and oversight. This study aims to critically analyze the dominance of law enforcement authority at the investigation stage and its implications for law enforcement effectiveness and the potential for abuse of power. The research employs normative legal research using statutory and conceptual approaches, supported by qualitative analysis of legal doctrines, legislation, and relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that while the dominance of investigative authority does contribute to the effectiveness of investigations, it simultaneously creates opportunities for abuse of power due to weak internal and external oversight mechanisms. This condition results in the erosion of the principles of due process of law and the protection of suspects’ rights within the criminal justice system. Therefore, this study emphasizes the need to strengthen judicial control mechanisms, enhance the accountability of law enforcement officials, and reform criminal procedural law in order to achieve a balance between effective law enforcement and the protection of human rights within a democratic rule-of-law state.

The Islamic conception of science views knowledge as a unity originating from Allah SWT and directed towards realizing human welfare. Islamic science does not separate the rational, empirical, and spiritual dimensions, but rather integrates revelation, reason, and sensory experience in obtaining truth. Science from an Islamic perspective is understood as a human effort to read and understand the verses of kauniyah as a manifestation of God's power in the universe. This study aims to analyze the Islamic conception of science and its relationship with science, and examine the urgency of integrating the two in facing the challenges of modern science. The research method applied in this study is a literature study with a qualitative approach, through descriptive and interpretive analysis of various relevant literature sources. The research findings indicate that the integration between Islamic science and science plays a strategic role in overcoming the scientific dichotomy, strengthening the ethical foundation of science, and building a scientific paradigm oriented towards the values of monotheism and humanity. Thus, the Islamic conception of science and science offers an alternative, holistic and sustainable scientific framework.

Enforced disappearance during the New Order era represents a historical reality that has left profound wounds and prolonged uncertainty for both the victims and the families left behind. This reality is powerfully represented in Laut Bercerita, a novel by Leila S. Chudori, through the use of symbolic and evocative literary language. This study aims to reveal the representation of enforced disappearance through the use of figures of speech and metaphors in the novel. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a stylistic approach. The data consist of narrative excerpts containing figures of speech and metaphors related to experiences of loss, suffering, memory, and resistance. Data collection was conducted through intensive reading and systematic note-taking, while data analysis involved classifying types of figures of speech and interpreting their contextual meanings. The findings indicate that metaphors of the sea, silence, darkness, and alienation play a crucial role in constructing the representation of enforced disappearance as a traumatic experience that is not only physical but also psychological and collective in nature. The use of figurative language strengthens the narrative’s expressive power in conveying criticism of state violence while simultaneously preserving the memory of humanitarian tragedies that are often marginalized. This study implies that literary works can function as reflective media and as cultural documentation of histories of violence.

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon's controversial statement, casting doubt on the existence of mass rape in the May 1998 Tragedy, sparked a strong public reaction, particularly from victims and human rights activists. This study aims to analyze Fadli Zon's statement as a form of identity politics in the context of contemporary Indonesian politics. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a discourse analysis approach to public statements, media coverage, and official documents such as reports from the National Commission on Violence Against Women and the Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF). The results show that Fadli Zon's statement is not merely a personal view, but rather a representation of identity politics that has the potential to obscure historical truth and reinforce social polarization. The identity politics that emerged in this discourse demonstrates how political power can influence the construction of national history and marginalize minority groups, particularly Chinese women victims of sexual violence. This study emphasizes the importance of historical honesty and the moral responsibility of political elites in preserving the nation's collective memory.

This study evaluates the legal perspective concerning business competition in Indonesia regarding alleged abuse of dominant power in the competition between digital platforms TikTok Shop (including the acquisition of Tokopedia) and Shopee. The method applied is normative juridical with a case study approach, referring to Law Number 5 of 1999, particularly Articles 19–21 related to market control and Article 20 concerning below-cost selling practices. The analysis focuses on inter-platform integration, aggressive discount strategies, use of cross-platform data, as well as post-acquisition behavior that may hinder healthy competition. The assessment is conducted by considering market structure, business actors' behavior, and law enforcement efforts by the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU). Research findings indicate that although TikTok Shop has strong competitiveness following the acquisition, proving the existence of abuse of a dominant position requires meeting legal and economic provisions rigorously. Therefore, the implementation of conditional approval and remedial measures by the KPPU is considered a reasonable step to maintain a healthy business competition environment in the digital era.

Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs) are increasingly developed due to their high efficiency, power density, durability, and environmental friendliness. However, the high cost of platinum catalysts limits their widespread application. Reducing platinum usage through the development of low-cost catalyst support materials is a promising approach. Activated carbon derived from biomass offers a sustainable and economical alternative, particularly when utilizing agricultural waste such as coffee husks, which are often discarded. This study aims to evaluate the characteristics of activated carbon produced from coffee husk waste through pyrolysis as a catalyst support for PEMFCs. Pyrolysis was conducted at 400 °C, followed by chemical activation using 1 M H₃PO₄ and 1 M KOH with a residence time of 90 minutes. The resulting activated carbon was analyzed through proximate analysis to determine moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, and fixed carbon content. The results showed that activation with 1 M H₃PO₄ produced the lowest moisture content (3.4%), the lowest ash content (3.8%), and the highest fixed carbon content (60.5%), while 1 M KOH yielded the lowest volatile matter content (27.7%). Based on these results, activated carbon produced using H₃PO₄ meets the requirements of SNI No. 01/6235/2000 and demonstrates strong potential as a catalyst support material for PEMFC applications.
