Pragmatics not only highlights language structure, but also the speaker's purpose and intention in a communication event. This study on representative and directive speech acts in the “Belajar Jadi MC” playlist on Maya Rachma's YouTube channel is important because social media, especially YouTube, has developed into an influential public space that shapes people's perspectives. This scientific article uses a theoretical approach in the form of a pragmatic approach and a methodological approach, namely a qualitative descriptive approach.  The techniques used by the researcher were the Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique and the note-taking technique. These two techniques were used because the author did not interact directly but only listened and took notes from existing data. The results of the study found 8 types of representative speech acts and 4 types of directive speech acts. There were 65 representative speech acts, including 9 informative speech acts, 12 suggestive speech acts, 13 mentioning speech acts, 9 stating speech acts, 6 exemplifying speech acts, 9 explaining speech acts, 4 showing speech acts, and 3 speculating speech acts. Meanwhile, there were 33 instances of directive speech acts, including 9 requests, 7 invitations, 8 commands, and 9 orders. The author hopes that this research can be used as a reference for further studies on representative and directive speech acts and increase knowledge and insight in the field of pragmatics, especially in the study of representative and directive speech acts.

Women’s representation in legislative institutions is an important indicator for assessing the quality of democracy and gender equality in a political system. Indonesia has implemented an affirmative policy requiring a minimum quota of 30% female candidates in legislative elections. However, its implementation at the local level still faces various challenges. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of tokenism and the forms of women’s political representation in the nomination and election process of members of the Cilegon City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) for the 2024–2029 period. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach using literature review and secondary data analysis. The analysis is based on Hanna Pitkin’s theory of political representation, which categorizes representation into four types: formal, symbolic, descriptive, and substantive. The findings show that only 4 out of 40 seats in the Cilegon City DPRD are occupied by women, representing approximately 10% of the total membership, and this figure has remained unchanged compared to the previous period. This condition indicates a gap between the fulfillment of the female candidate quota at the nomination stage and the low level of electoral success. Furthermore, the political recruitment process within parties also reflects indications of tokenism, where female candidates are often included merely to fulfill administrative requirements without sufficient political support. As a result, women’s representation in the Cilegon DPRD tends to remain at the formal and descriptive levels, while substantive representation remains a challenge in local political practice.

The environmental friendliness of a fishing gear is an important component in sustainable fisheries management. The use of environmentally friendly fishing gear that complies with the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries is absolutely necessary. Environmental friendliness refers to the ability of a fishing gear to catch fish with minimal environmental impact, because even though the fishing gear can catch fish well, the fishing gear can still cause problems with the marine environment, such as damage to coral reefs and non-selective fishing. The purse seine fishing gear used by fishermen in Laha Village, Ambon is one of the effective fishing gears in catching various types of pelagic fish such as scad, tuna, lemuru, skipjack and mackerel. Purse Seine fishing gear also has a negative impact on the marine ecosystem and therefore this study was conducted to determine the environmental friendliness of Purse Seine fishing gear. The research method that will be used is a descriptive method, namely interviews using questionnaires given to fishermen and data collection through field observations. Based on the results of the study, the Purse Seine fishing gear in Laha Village, Ambon is used to catch several types of small and large pelagic fish and the main catch is scad and skipjack tuna. Based on the calculation results of the criteria for environmentally friendly fishing gear, a score of 30 was obtained, so it can be concluded that the Purse Seine fishing gear in Laha Village, Ambon is included in the very environmentally friendly category. It is recommended that fishermen in Laha Village prioritize their safety and security during the fishing process and while sailing.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of using light sticks and without lights on catching ribbonfish from the number of catches. The method used in this study is an experimental fishing method with data analysis using the T test. This study was conducted in the waters of Pasongsongan Sumenep. The results of the ribbonfish catch during 16 trips with light sticks totaled 163 fish, while those without lights totaled 67 fish. The type of ribbonfish caught was dominated by the Trichiurus lepturus species. From the catch results, a T test analysis was carried out and the results of the Paired samples test showed a sig. value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, which means there is a significant difference in the number of catches in the use of light sticks and without lights placed on the fishing hook position. This is because ribbonfish have phototactic properties towards light, in addition to searching for food more dominantly using the sense of sight.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from impaired insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Globally, DM continues to pose a growing health challenge, particularly type 2 DM, which is closely associated with insulin resistance. In this condition, body cells fail to respond effectively to insulin, so even though the pancreas initially produces sufficient or excessive amounts of insulin, its effectiveness gradually declines. Over time, pancreatic beta-cell function deteriorates, further exacerbating chronic hyperglycemia. This persistent condition may lead to long-term complications, including nephropathy, retinopathy, neuropathy, and cardiovascular diseases, through mechanisms such as oxidative stress, inflammation, and the formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). The prevalence of type 2 DM is expected to continue rising, including in Indonesia, highlighting the need for comprehensive management strategies. An important aspect of DM management is the assessment of health-related quality of life. Quality of life reflects an individual’s perception of their health status within social and cultural contexts. This can be evaluated using generic instruments such as the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. In this case report, the quality of life of a patient with type 2 DM was assessed using the WHOQOL-BREF to provide a comprehensive understanding of the disease’s impact on the patient’s daily life.

Inflectional morphemes are of great importance in linguistic analysis, especially when applied to speech delivered in various contexts. We explore the complexity of inflectional morphemes through an analysis of Linda McMahon’s Speech script titled “Our Department’s Final Mission.” Inflectional morphemes are also known as grammatical morphemes, as their primary function is to provide grammatical information about a word without altering its core meaning or lexical category. These inflectional morphemes include possessive morphemes (-‘s/s’), plural morphemes (-s/es), third-person singular present morphemes (-s), past morphemes(-d/ed), present/progressive particles (-ing), past participle (-en), comparative particles (-er), and superlative particles (-est). Therefore, this study focuses on understanding the types of inflectional morphemes used in Linda McMahon’s speech script. The main theory of inflectional morphemes is based on an understanding of grammatical function, affixation processes, and categories in the language system. The researcher identified 7 categories of inflectional morphemes. The result showed that 99 inflectional morphemes were found in Linda McMahon’s speech script. There were 46 plural morphemes (-s), 26 present/progressive particle morphemes (-ing), 19 past tense morphemes (-ed), 4 possessive morphemes (-‘s/s’), 2 third-person singular present morphemes (-s),1 comparative morpheme (-er), and 1 superlative morpheme (-est). It can be conclude that the most dominant category in the analysis is the plural morpheme (-s) and the least dominant is the comparative (-er) and superlative (-est) morpheme. Its is hoped that this study can provide solutions in determining the types of inflectional morphemes in a speech script.

Women's leadership plays an important role in the success of organizations, including in the government sector at the sub-district level. Leaders not only act as directors but also as mentors who are able to understand the needs and character of their subordinates. The female head of TG Sub-district in Surabaya City demonstrates the application of reciprocal relationships between leaders and subordinates through a system of rewards and punishments according to performance achievements, actively monitors subordinate performance, identifies work standard errors, and takes corrective actions. The study aims to analyze the application of transactional leadership style by the female head of TG Sub-district in Surabaya City using Bernard M. Bass's (1990) theory. The type of research used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Samples were determined using purposive sampling, and data sources included primary and secondary data. The research results indicate that the transactional leadership style of the female village head in TG Village is not yet fully optimal. The application of Contingent Reward can increase motivation and employee performance control, but its implementation in the community is still limited. Management by Exception (Active) carried out on employees has not been consistent, and its application in the community is also not sufficiently felt. Management by Exception (Passive) and Laissez-Faire are shown through corrective actions after problems arise and the freedom to take initiative and make decisions according to standards and policies. The implementation of transactional leadership by female village heads needs to be improved, especially in strengthening the mechanisms of reward and punishment as well as the consistency of supervision of employees and the community so that the leadership implementation runs more optimally.

Edamame soybean plants are classified as a type of legume, growing upright and with dense leaves. Edamame soybeans can be consumed fresh or processed. One of the soils that can be planted with edamame is peat soil. However, peat soil still has obstacles such as acidic soil conditions and poor nitrogen (N) nutrients in the soil. Low nitrogen content in peat soil can be overcome by adding N fertilizer and photosynthetic bacteria. The use of photosynthetic bacteria in cultivating edamame soybeans can help increase nitrogen supply by fixing nitrogen (N) in the air. This research aims to determine the efficiency of applying a combination of nitrogen fertilizer and photosynthetic bacteria on the growth and yield of edamame soybeans in peat soil. This research was carried out in Pontianak City, with a research duration of approximately 3 months starting from 17 June - 29 August 2023. This study discusses the implementation of the concept of Islamic insurance in the Amanah Card product at Amanah Takaful Banten. In Indonesia, there are various economic activities such as trade, savings and loans, and Islamic financial institutions. Currently, the insurance sector is growing rapidly in Indonesia. There are two types of insurance in Indonesia, namely Islamic insurance and conventional insurance. However, conventional insurance poses concerns for Muslims due to the presence of elements such as riba (interest), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (gambling). Therefore, Islamic insurance emerges as a risk protection system that prioritizes Sharia principles. The objectives of this study are: (1) to identify the concept of the Amanah Card product at Amanah Takaful Banten, (2) to examine the implementation of Islamic insurance principles in the Amanah Card product, and (3) to analyze how Amanah Takaful Banten improves the accessibility of the Amanah Card product. This research employs a qualitative approach using a field study method (direct observation in the field). Data were collected through interviews with informants, as well as observation and documentation methods. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Relevant literature includes theories on insurance, Amanah Card, and zakat management institutions, as well as previous studies that examine the implementation of Islamic insurance concepts in insurance products such as Amanah Card. The results show that the Amanah Card product is categorized as a microinsurance product. It implements Islamic insurance principles, including the use of contracts (akad) and management practices that comply with Sharia principles and do not violate existing regulations. The Amanah Card product can be accessed offline through registration with Duta MT Bertaawun and online through social media and the Amanah Takaful website. In conclusion, the Amanah Card product is considered compliant both from a Sharia perspective and regulatory standards.
