The Village Consultative Body (BPD) plays a strategic role in overseeing the implementation of village governance to ensure transparent, participatory, and accountable governance. However, in practice, the effectiveness of the BPD's role is often influenced by various internal and external factors. This study aims to analyze the role of the BPD of Kersik Tuo Village in improving village government accountability based on the five dimensions of Servqual developed by Parasuraman, Zeithaml, and Berry, namely tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews with the BPD chairperson, village officials, and BPD members, while secondary data was sourced from official village documents, accountability reports, and related literature. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that in the tangibles dimension, the BPD has provided physical facilities and information media that support transparency; in the reliability dimension, the BPD consistently carries out supervision in accordance with the planning and implementation cycle of village programs; in the responsiveness dimension, the BPD quickly responds to complaints and aspirations from the community; in the assurance dimension. Factors supporting the role of the BPD include the commitment of members to transparency, clear regulatory support, and partnerships with village officials and the community. Meanwhile, the main obstacles include limited human resources, supporting facilities, and suboptimal community participation. In conclusion, the BPD of Kersik Tuo Village has played a fairly effective role in maintaining the accountability of village administration, although there is still a need to improve the capacity of members, strengthen facilities and infrastructure, optimize public participation, and utilize information technology to support transparency and the quality of village public services.

This study investigates the influence of transformational leadership on teacher performance in disadvantaged regions, with a specific focus on SMP Satu Atap Werdi in Pekalongan Regency. Schools located in remote and underdeveloped areas often face structural challenges such as limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, and geographical isolation, which significantly hinder the delivery of quality education. In this context, the role of school principals becomes critical in shaping organizational culture and motivating educators to maintain high performance despite the constraints. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, using participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis to gather rich and comprehensive data from the principal and teachers as key informants. Findings indicate that even though SMP Satu Atap Werdi operates in an area with severely limited facilities, the transformational leadership style adopted by the principal has successfully brought about meaningful improvements in school management and teacher performance. The leadership was manifested through four main dimensions: idealized influence, demonstrated by strong role modelling and exemplary behaviour; inspirational motivation, reflected in the principal’s ability to encourage teachers to remain committed and enthusiastic; intellectual stimulation, which fostered creativity, innovation, and problem-solving among teachers; and individualized consideration, shown through personal guidance and support tailored to each teacher’s needs. These practices led to visible progress in teacher discipline, professional dedication, and organizational commitment. The study underscores the importance of transformational leadership as a catalyst for positive organizational change in education, particularly under challenging circumstances. The findings align with previous literature highlighting its effectiveness in motivating subordinates and enhancing performance. From a practical standpoint, this research suggests the need for policymakers and education stakeholders to strengthen transformational leadership practices in schools across disadvantaged regions as a strategy to achieve equitable educational quality in Indonesia.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a major global health threat, with severe impacts in developing countries due to weak health systems, poor regulation, and low sanitation standards. This review summarizes 12 studies from Asia and Africa on AMR’s clinical, social, economic, and environmental effects. AMR leads to first-line treatment failure, prolonged hospital stays, increased morbidity and mortality, and necessitates costly, toxic last-line antibiotics. Economic consequences include higher treatment costs, productivity loss, and poverty risk from high medical expenses. Environmental contributors such as contamination from medical waste, livestock, and the food industry accelerate resistant bacteria spread. Effective control requires integrated strategies, including Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs (ASP) based on AWaRe classification, laboratory strengthening, One Health approaches, public education, strict antibiotic distribution regulations, and cross-sector monitoring. These measures aim to curb AMR progression and reduce health burdens in developing nations. The rise of AMR further complicates healthcare delivery in countries already struggling with limited resources and underfunded healthcare systems. The growing prevalence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) organisms threatens the effectiveness of current medical treatments, including those for common infections such as tuberculosis and pneumonia. Infections that were once easily treatable with antibiotics are now leading to longer and more complicated hospitalizations, greater healthcare costs, and higher death rates. Additionally, the lack of access to newer, more effective antibiotics and diagnostic tools makes managing resistant infections in these regions even more challenging. Environmental factors, particularly contamination from healthcare facilities and agricultural practices, play a key role in the proliferation of resistant pathogens.

Telemedicine is a significant innovation in modern healthcare, enabling the provision of remote healthcare services using telecommunications technology. This service allows medical personnel to conduct consultations, examinations, and even monitor patient conditions without face-to-face interaction. Implementations of telemedicine include video conferencing between doctors and patients, remote health monitoring using digital devices, and the use of integrated health applications on mobile devices. This technology offers significant opportunities to overcome geographical barriers, particularly for people living in remote, hard-to-reach areas, or with limited access to conventional healthcare facilities. This study aims to increase understanding of the role and benefits of telemedicine as part of the digital transformation in the healthcare sector to improve public health. The activities were conducted through lectures and demonstrations, structured in three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. During the planning stage, the implementation team prepared materials, media, and delivery strategies appropriate to the participants' level of understanding. The implementation stage focused on delivering educational materials related to the concepts, benefits, and examples of telemedicine applications in everyday life, followed by a demonstration session on the use of digital health applications. The final stage, an evaluation, measured participants' knowledge levels before and after the activity. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of telemedicine. The knowledge level increased from 23.0% before the training to 84.6% after the training. This increase demonstrates the effectiveness of the lecture method combined with interactive demonstrations in conveying information. Furthermore, students became more aware of the importance of utilizing digital health technology and felt more involved in the decision-making process regarding self-care.

The deployment of TNI soldiers has sparked controversy due to concerns over the strengthening of militarism in civilian institutions. This action has raised alarm among various human rights groups and political analysts who argue that it undermines the democratic principles of civilian control over military forces. The Attorney General's Office (AGO), the TNI, and the Chief of Police have publicly addressed the issue, especially the deployment of TNI soldiers to guard the AGO Complex, as well as the High Prosecutors' Offices (Kejati) and District Prosecutors' Offices (Kejari) across Indonesia. The order for this deployment was issued in the TNI Commander’s Telegram Number TR/442/2025 on May 6, 2025. This order is part of a broader effort to increase security at critical state institutions, especially in light of recent security threats. The deployment of soldiers is part of a follow-up to the cooperation agreement between the TNI and the AGO, which was formalized in the Memorandum of Understanding NK/6/IV/2023/TNI dated April 6, 2023. The agreement outlines eight points of cooperation, which include: (1) Education and training for TNI personnel in law enforcement procedures; (2) Exchange of information for law enforcement purposes, ensuring better collaboration between the military and civilian law enforcement agencies; (3) The assignment of TNI soldiers to assist in guarding AGO facilities and other law enforcement offices; and (4) Other security-related assistance, such as providing military expertise to ensure the integrity and safety of AGO operations. While the cooperation between the TNI and AGO is framed as an effort to enhance security and operational efficiency, critics argue that this deployment could lead to the militarization of civilian functions, potentially causing conflicts of interest and compromising the impartiality of the judicial system.

Jati Larangan Park in Iroyudan Hamlet, Bantul Regency, is a community-based tourism area with historical, cultural, and natural potential. Despite its appeal as a religious and outdoor tourism destination, the park experienced a decline in activity following the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to analyze community perceptions of the development of Jati Larangan Park to support participatory and sustainable tourism development strategies. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the community has a positive perception of the park because it is considered capable of providing economic, social, and cultural benefits. Youth groups, MSMEs, and the general public recognize the importance of this tourism revival, although management is still hampered by human resources, weak institutional structures of the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), and a lack of digital literacy for the promotion and marketing of local products. Community involvement is reflected in the spirit of mutual cooperation and the desire to revitalize the park through various tourism activities. However, a more systematic strategy is still needed in terms of institutional strengthening, youth empowerment, MSME capacity development, and digital promotion. With a Community-Based Tourism (CBT) approach, Jati Larangan Park has the potential to become a leading destination in Bantul with collaborative and sustainable management. In addition to social and economic aspects, the development of Jati Larangan Park must also consider environmental and spatial planning dimensions. Currently, parts of the park are poorly managed, with a lack of sanitation facilities, information boards, and accessible tourist routes for the elderly and people with disabilities. This presents a challenge in realizing an inclusive and comfortable destination.

The rapid population growth and urbanization in Jakarta have led to various urban challenges, one of the most significant being traffic congestion, which incurs substantial economic losses. One proposed solution is the development of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) areas, particularly through the expansion of mass transit infrastructure such as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system. This study examines the potential for TOD development in the planned East–West MRT Corridor, with a case study focused on the Grogol MRT Station. This area is considered strategically significant due to its integration with multiple transportation modes, including TransJakarta, microtrans services, and a Type B bus terminal. This research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing both primary and secondary data. The assessment is conducted using a TOD Index method based on three core principles: density, diversity, and design. The analysis reveals that the Grogol MRT Station area has a population density of 19,953 people/km² and a building density of 2,741 units/km², both of which meet the criteria for an urban-scale TOD. The land use entropy index is 0.63, indicating a moderate level of land-use diversity. However, the availability of pedestrian paths (33.96%), bicycle lanes (1.67%), parking facilities (1.84%), and open green space (1.79%) remains significantly below the ideal TOD standards. Overall, the TOD Index score for this area is 0.417, placing it among the bottom five MRT stations in Jakarta. Despite this, the area fulfills the density requirements for urban TOD classification. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including insufficient pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure, limited green spaces, and low land-use diversity. Planning interventions are thus necessary, focusing on the provision of integrated pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, functional public spaces, and mixed-use zoning to promote sustainable urban mobility.

This study examines disaster mitigation efforts in minimizing disaster risk in Manado City and identifies the key challenges as well as the strategies implemented by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD: Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah). Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, direct observations, and document analysis, with the Head of BPBD serving as the primary informant. The analysis was conducted using Miles et al.’s (2014) interactive model, which consists of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, thereby ensuring systematic interpretation of findings. The results indicate that disaster mitigation efforts in Manado consist of both passive and active strategies. Passive measures include strengthening institutional frameworks, enhancing governance capacity, integrating disaster management planning into regional development programs, and advancing education and research to support long-term disaster risk reduction. In contrast, active mitigation emphasizes community-based actions, such as the installation of disaster warning signs, the provision of basic disaster training for officials and volunteers, the establishment of temporary evacuation shelters, and the implementation of both structural interventions (e.g., drainage construction, flood control) and non-structural measures (e.g., socialization, counseling, and public campaigns). Despite these initiatives, several challenges persist. Limited public awareness, inadequate infrastructure and facilities, a shortage of skilled human resources, weak planning and socialization, complex disaster causes, and environmental vulnerabilities all reduce the overall effectiveness of disaster risk reduction efforts. To address these obstacles, BPBD Manado fosters collaboration with various stakeholders, including government institutions, academia, non-governmental organizations, and local community groups. Moreover, the agency emphasizes the use of disaster risk assessments and hazard mapping as evidence-based foundations for policy formulation and implementation.

This study aims to analyze the sentiment of customer reviews of the Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru on the Google Review platform using the Naïve Bayes algorithm. Social media and online review platforms are increasingly becoming the primary source of information for potential customers in making purchasing decisions, particularly in the hospitality sector. Therefore, sentiment analysis of customer reviews is crucial for understanding consumer perceptions and providing strategic input for hotels in improving service quality. The research data was collected using web scraping techniques to obtain publicly available customer reviews. The obtained data was then processed through text preprocessing stages including case folding, tokenizing, normalization, stopword removal, and stemming. The Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) method was then used to weight each word, so that more relevant words have a greater influence in the classification process. The sentiment classification process was carried out into two main categories, namely positive and negative. The Naïve Bayes model was trained using training data and then tested with test data to measure the algorithm's performance in classifying sentiment. The evaluation results show that the model built is able to achieve an accuracy level of 98%, with a precision value of 97% and a recall of 100% in the positive class, and 92% in the negative class. These findings confirm that the Naïve Bayes algorithm can be effectively used in analyzing customer sentiment towards hotel services and facilities. Practically, the results of this study are expected to provide insight for the management of Grand Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru in understanding customer perceptions, identifying service strengths and weaknesses, and formulating more targeted marketing strategies. Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) are important facilities that provide various types of fuel such as gasoline, diesel, and Pertamax to meet the needs of motorized vehicles. The existence of SPBU greatly helps the public in obtaining fuel at a more economical price compared to purchasing retail. However, the transaction system at SPBU generally still uses conventional methods, such as cash payments or the use of debit/credit cards that have not been fully integrated with an efficient digital system. The use of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology has been implemented as a non-cash transaction method at several SPBUs, but this system still has various weaknesses, such as limited device compatibility and delays in transaction processing. This prompted the author to develop the concept of an independent SPBU based on modern technology that is more efficient and secure. The proposed innovation includes the use of contactless smart cards and coin acceptors for the payment system, allowing users to make self-service transactions without operator involvement. In addition, the author also added several supporting components such as proximity sensors, which function to detect the presence of vehicles or people around the SPBU area. These sensors can help in saving electrical energy by activating the system only when needed. Another component is a vibration sensor, which plays a crucial role in detecting excessive vibrations that could potentially cause leaks. If excessive vibration is detected, the system automatically closes the solenoid on the pump to prevent the risk of fire or damage. By integrating this technology, the autonomous gas station system is expected to improve operational efficiency, user convenience, and safety during the automatic refueling process. This development is expected to be an innovative solution for modernizing the gas station system in Indonesia.
