Local food innovation is not only focused on product development but also requires effective communication strategies to build positive perceptions and enhance market competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the implementation of innovation communication strategies by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in developing papaya-based chili chips as a flagship product in Nagori Karang Anyar, Gunung Maligas District, Simalungun Regency. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on the product innovation process, marketing communication patterns, and efforts to build product image amid competition in the local food industry. The findings indicate that innovation communication strategies play a crucial role in creating product differentiation through narratives of unique taste, utilization of local raw materials, and promotional strategies combining traditional methods and digital media. Papaya chili chips are positioned as a product that blends distinctive local flavors with a modern touch, attracting consumer interest and increasing the added value of papaya as a local commodity. This study emphasizes that the success of local food innovation depends not only on product quality but also on the ability of MSMEs to manage adaptive and persuasive communication strategies.

Parenting communication literacy is a fundamental competence that influences children’s growth in cognitive, emotional, and social domains. Initial findings at Posyandu Teratai, South Tangerang, revealed that many mothers still relied on authoritarian and less dialogical communication, which limited children’s confidence and engagement. In response, the Community Service (PKM) team of Universitas Pamulang implemented a program entitled Optimizing Parenting Communication Literacy through Digital Media. The activities were designed using participatory strategies such as lectures, interactive group discussions, simulation exercises, and the dissemination of digital learning materials in the form of modules and videos. The program outcomes demonstrated considerable improvement in mothers’ knowledge and attitudes toward positive communication practices, including the ability to listen actively, provide encouragement, and employ digital platforms as continuous learning resources. Furthermore, the integration of digital tools enabled mothers to access and exchange information beyond formal training sessions. The broader impact of the program was the establishment of a collaborative learning community at Posyandu, which not only supported families in applying positive parenting approaches but also reinforced community-level awareness of effective communication in child-rearing.

Maternal anxiety during the childbirth process is a common psychological condition that can potentially increase the risk of complications, prolong labor, and reduce the likelihood of a positive birthing experience. High anxiety levels in mothers may interfere with the effectiveness of labor, impact maternal and fetal well-being, and lead to increased medical interventions. One of the most important support systems during labor is the presence and active involvement of the husband. The husband’s role is not only limited to being present but also includes providing emotional, physical, and motivational support to the mother. Recognizing the importance of this role, this community service program was designed to enhance husbands’ understanding and skills in supporting their wives during childbirth, thereby helping to reduce maternal anxiety. The program consisted of several stages, including the delivery of structured health education sessions on maternal needs during labor, demonstrations of effective communication techniques, simulations of support during different stages of childbirth, and interactive discussions to address questions and share experiences. Through these activities, participants were encouraged to build empathy, strengthen their knowledge about labor, and develop the confidence to assist their wives effectively. The results of the program indicated a noticeable improvement in the husbands’ awareness of the importance of their role, as well as increased confidence in providing both emotional reassurance and physical assistance. Participants reported feeling better prepared to accompany their wives, manage unexpected situations, and foster a more supportive environment during childbirth. This initiative highlights the significant impact that targeted education and training for husbands can have on maternal psychological well-being, ultimately contributing to safer and more positive birth experiences.

Education plays an important role in student development, especially in developing effective communication skills or public speaking. This community service aims to improve the creativity and public speaking skills of students at SDN Sumput, Sidoarjo, through socialization activities for making flower pots from plastic bottle waste. The main problems identified were the lack of self-confidence and public speaking skills among grade 5 students. Lack of interest and motivation as well as fear of public speaking hinder the learning process. The implementation method includes environmental observation, problem identification, activity coordination, and implementation of socialization and mentoring. This socialization was carried out on July 29, 2024, involving 15 students divided into 3 groups. Students were accompanied by KKN students in the process of recycling plastic bottles into flower pots and were trained in public speaking through presentations of their work. The results of this activity show that students not only improve their creative and public speaking skills, but also understand the importance of waste management and environmental awareness.
