This research is motivated by changes in students' academic communication patterns due to the rapid development of digital technology, which has the potential to affect the consistency of formal language use. In academic literacy, formal language plays a crucial role as a marker of professionalism and the accuracy of scientific communication. This study aims to analyze the shift in formal language use in students' academic communication and identify the factors influencing it in the digital era. The research method used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through an online questionnaire in the form of open-ended questions to students at the University of Muhammadiyah Maumere who actively use digital media in academic communication. Data were analyzed by grouping respondents' answers and identifying language usage patterns. The results show that students understand the differences between formal and informal language, but their application in digital academic communication is not yet consistent. The shift is characterized by the use of abbreviations, slang, and inconsistencies in linguistic rules influenced by instant communication habits, social environments, and the nature of digital media. These findings emphasize the importance of continuously strengthening formal language literacy and academic communication ethics in higher education

Fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 76/IX Mendalo still show low learning motivation in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects. This is evident from their low attention, lack of enthusiasm, and tendency to chat during learning, which is caused by teachers not implementing appropriate learning methods and media. This study was conducted to increase student interest through PJBL with the use of audiovisual media, by means of a Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, separated into two cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. This study examines syntax, a branch of linguistics that investigating the structure and rules for constructing larger components such as words, phrases, clauses, and sentences. The focus of this article is on analyzing sentences found in opinion texts. The primary goal is to evaluate the effectiveness of sentences in opinion articles from the January 2025 edition of "Harian Jogja" as instructional materials for reading comprehension, particularly regarding word choice and punctuation. A qualitative descriptive method is employed, with a syntactic theoretical framework. The data presented is based on the analysis of sentence effectiveness in the opinion texts from the January 2025 edition of "Harian Jogja." Data collection includes listening and note-taking techniques, while the analysis uses the Aghigh technique. The data is informally presented in tables that highlight ineffective sentences along with their corrections. The study of three opinion texts from the "Harian Jogja" website in January 2025 resulted in a total of 147 sentences, with 118 effective and 16 ineffective sentences. Specifically, in the opinion article titled "Ethics and Productivity of Generation Z," 37 sentences were effective and 5 were ineffective; in "The Rise of Online Purchasing Fraud," 55 sentences were effective and 15 were ineffective; and in "Going through Digital Transformation: Recruitment Challenges in Banking," 26 sentences were effective and 9 were ineffective. This study aims to help distinguish between effective and ineffective sentences in texts.

This research is motivated by the fact that effective sentences in historical articles can be a path to progressive learning. The article “Sejarah Dunia” (World History), October 2024 edition on sejarahkita.com, was chosen as the object of research because of its relevance as a medium that can provide historical information in a clear and interesting way. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of sentences in articles that are directed at history education, which not only focus on facts but also on the development of critical thinking skills. The method used is descriptive qualitative with listening and recording techniques. The author analyzes the sentence structure, word choice, coherence between sentences, and the chronological flow of the article using distributional and matching methods. The collected data will be tabulated to identify syntactic errors, accuracy of diction, and spelling. The findings show that the article contains a number of shortcomings in sentence structure, where the message conveyed is less clear. However, in some ways, the article also succeeds in conveying an informative and relevant history. This study will provide benefits and insights into effective sentences in historical articles to provide a basis for readers to understand various suggestions and models for progressive learning oriented towards critical thinking. In addition, this study also provides added value by preserving historical values through an easy and interesting presentation.

Development of a Canva-Based Informatics E-book on ICT Material for Grade X at SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda. This research aims to determine the feasibility of a product in the form of an E-book as a learning medium and to assess the response toward the Canva-based Informatics E-book for Grade X students at SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) method with the PPE model, which consists of three stages: Planning, Production, and Evaluation. The research subjects involved 35 students from Grade X (I) at SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda, along with 3 media experts and 1 material expert. The research object is the Canva-based Informatics E-book on ICT material. The results showed that the development of the Canva-based E-book, as evaluated by 3 media expert validators, obtained a percentage score of 92.19%, which falls into the “Highly Feasible” category. The Evaluation conducted by 1 material expert achieved a percentage score of 100%, also in the “Highly Feasible” category. Furthermore, students’ responses to the product were measured and obtained an average percentage score of 82.57%, which falls into the “Very Interesting” category. Thus, the development of the Canva-based E-book on ICT material for Grade X at SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda, developed using the PPE model, is declared highly feasible based on media and material expert validation and very interesting based on students’ responses.

This study aims to describe the use of learning media in the form of digital comics based on fable stories as a means to improve the speaking skills of elementary school students. The background of this study is the low interest of students in speaking and the limited learning media that are interesting and in accordance with their age characteristics. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and speaking skills tests. The subjects in this research are fourth grade students of SDN Margasari 01 Balikpapan City. The results show that the use of digital comic media based on fable stories can increase students' courage in speaking, expand their vocabularies, and help students construct sentences more coherently and communicatively. Teachers and students also give positive responses to the media used because it is considered interesting, contextual, and in accordance with the learning needs. Thus, digital comic media based on fable stories can be an innovative alternative in learning Indonesian in elementary schools to improve the speaking skills of elementary school students.

Learning via YouTube is now widely practiced by educational content creators. In this case, the use of speech used in the delivery of learning should be considered. The use of speech affects the understanding of viewers or students when watching the learning video. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out the locutionary speech acts in the Indonesian language learning videos of class VIII SMP on Helza RN's YouTube channel and the effectiveness of the use of speech. Descriptive qualitative research method is used to analyze the related data. The approach used in this research is the theoretical approach, namely the pragmatic approach by analyzing the types of speech acts and the intentions in them. The researcher uses listening and recording techniques to find out the locution utterances in the Indonesian language learning video for class VIII junior high school on Helza RN's YouTube channel, then the researcher analyzes the speech acts related to the context with the commensurate method. From the data analysis that has been done, it is found that there are 202 declarative speech acts, 14 interrogative speech acts, and 19 imperative speech acts that make the learning video provide a complete explanation of the material, but there is a lack of interaction between Helza Rn and viewers. The results of this study are expected to increase readers' understanding of locutionary speech acts and their types. And can be a reference for other content creators, especially in making learning videos so that they are more interesting and interactive.

This article discusses the phenomenon of healing beliefs in Javanese and Japanese culture which is presented through the narrative of the novel Pingkan Melipat Distance by Sapardi Djoko Damono. The novel explores the complexities of cross-cultural relationships, highlighting the traditional beliefs that influence the way the main character, Pingkan, deals with emotional and identity crises. In Javanese culture, healing beliefs are rooted in harmony between spirituality, nature and the body, while in Japanese culture, balance between the body, mind and environment is the main foundation. This article finds that through Pingkan's journey, this novel represents a cross-cultural dialogue that not only connects local and global values ​​but also opens up space for reflection on identity and healing in the modern era. With a literary approach and cultural perspective, this article presents an in-depth understanding of how healing traditions contribute to the sustainability of cultural values as well as being a tool to face the challenges of globalization.
