This study aims to explore the influence of formal language skills on the use of slang among first-semester students in the English Language and Literature Education Program at Muhammadiyah University Maumere. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with subjects consisting of first-year students. Information was collected through observation, questionnaire distribution, and brief interviews about daily language use habits and academic contexts. The findings of this study indicate that the majority of students actively use slang when interacting informally, especially when communicating with peers and on social media platforms. The use of slang serves as a way to express identity, build social solidarity, and facilitate social adjustment. However, deficiencies in formal language skills make it difficult for some students to recognize the appropriate use of language in context, so that elements of slang often creep into academic situations, such as in class discussions and assignment writing. This study concludes that formal language skills have an impact on the use of slang. Students with high formal language skills tend to be better at switching between language varieties according to context, while those with low formal skills are at greater risk of mixing them up.

The background of the problem highlights the low level of student attendance, which is caused by the lack of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in the vocational education environment. This phenomenon impacts the effectiveness of learning and overall student achievement. The purpose of the study is to identify the causal relationship between learning motivation and attendance discipline, and to measure the significant influence of motivation variables on attendance discipline. The approach used is quantitative with a Likert-scale questionnaire survey method. The study sample involved students in grades X-XII at the Saint Ignasius Catholic Vocational School in Wairterang, with data analysis using simple linear regression to test the hypothesis. The results of the study are expected to show a positive and significant influence of learning motivation on attendance discipline. Practical implications include recommended strategies for guidance and counseling (BK) teachers, such as individual counseling programs, attendance-based reward systems, and the integration of intrinsic motivation through vocational extracurricular activities. These strategies are expected to improve learning effectiveness and build students' disciplined character in vocational high schools

This study aims to examine the influence of slang language usage on the use of Indonesian language in WhatsApp communication among students of Class F, Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Padang, academic year 2025/2026. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a correlational approach. The population and sample consisted of 35 students selected using total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation test, and simple linear regression. The results indicate that the use of slang language is categorized as high, while the use of standard Indonesian language is categorized as moderate. The correlation analysis shows a negative relationship between slang usage and the use of Indonesian language in WhatsApp communication. These findings suggest that higher intensity of slang usage tends to reduce the use of proper Indonesian language. This study is expected to raise students’ awareness of the importance of using appropriate Indonesian language according to communication contexts, particularly in academic settings.

This study analyzes the role of families and caregivers at Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Wana Seraya Denpasar in implementing elderly care programs and examines the implications of these programs for the quality of life of older adults. Using a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Two theoretical frameworks guided the analysis: Carrolyn Smith-Morris’ Social Support Theory, which highlights the importance of emotional, informational, and instrumental support for elderly well-being, and Robert J. Havighurst’s Activity Theory, which states that active involvement in social, physical, and spiritual activities enhances happiness and life satisfaction in old age. The findings show that families’ involvement remains limited due to time and distance constraints, yet their emotional presence still contributes positively to the psychological comfort of the elderly. Caregivers play a dominant role in meeting the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of residents. The care program demonstrates positive implications, including improved health stability, increased social interaction, strengthened feelings of appreciation, and enhanced spiritual peace. Additionally, Balinese cultural values such as tatwam asi and menyama braya reinforce empathy, togetherness, and respectful relationships within the care system. The study concludes that synergy between families, caregivers, and local cultural values forms a crucial foundation for a meaningful and humane elderly care system.

Arabic language learning, particularly the study of nahwu, is crucial in understanding Islamic religious texts such as the Qur'an and Hadith. However, in many pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), the teaching and application of nahwu often face various challenges. Therefore, this community service program aims to optimize nahwu learning at Pesantren Motivator Qur'an Darussalam Klaseman by using the Al Miftah book as the main teaching material. This program involves intensive guidance for the students in learning nahwu rules, with an interactive and hands-on approach. The results of this activity show an improvement in the students' understanding and application of nahwu rules, which positively impacts their ability to comprehend Arabic texts, particularly in reading the Qur'an.

Improving the quality of leraning in vocational high school (SMK) is essential to meet the demands of a competency-based workforce, especially in the Agricultural Food Crop and Horticultural Agribusiness expertise program. One of the challenges faced is the low student achievement in practical subjects, such as Grafting techniques. This study aims to enhance the learning outcomes of grade X ATPH 2 students at SMK negeri 1 Gondang through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in the Agribusiness Food Crop and Horticulture subject, focusing on grafting material. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, starting from the pre-cycle to cycle I. the research involved 30 students and was conducted from February to April 2025. The instrument used was a cognitive test analyzed quantitatively to measure student learning outcomes. The results showed an increase in the average student score from 51.23 in the pre-cycle to 76.2 in cycle I. the percentage of learning mastery also significantly increased from 16% to 57%. The implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBl) model provided a concrete and comprehensible learning experience, enhancing student participation and motivation.

Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores and analyzes various learning techniques that have been proven to support the improvement of reading fluency in early childhood. The research findings reveal that the application of explicit teaching methods, repetition in reading exercises, the use of paired reading techniques, the use of reading texts with levels of difficulty, and active involvement from parents, can synergistically encourage the development of students' reading skills significantly. This study provides important contributions both theoretically and practically, especially for educators, in designing systematic, comprehensive, and sustainable reading learning programs to improve students' literacy competencies from an early age.

Strategically, sex education can be provided early to teach children about their bodies, their boundaries, and how to find and report inappropriate actions. The purpose of this study was to investigate how sex education functions as a way to prevent violence and sexual harassment in schools. The method used was to conduct literature research on a number of relevant scientific articles that focused Sex education, prevention of sexual violence, sexual harassment, child protection.on the implementation, techniques, and roles of educators and parents. The results showed that age-appropriate sex education provided through visual media, songs, interactive books, and digital applications effectively increased children's understanding of self-protection. The active involvement of parents and teachers also played an important role in the success of this program. This study suggests that sex education should be included in the elementary school curriculum.

Whether it's a result of parents or the environment, the absence of character development in children is the root problem of this research. Thus, character education is crucial for kids, and books are a great way to inculcate these values. Books, whether we know it or not, teach us valuable lessons and entertain us, but they also contain positive messages that can be applied in real life. Reading novels that captivate and motivate youngsters is one approach to help them develop positive character traits. This study recommends reading Khusnul Art's "I'm Not Stupid" and thinking critically on the book's themes and characters' moral fibre.

Data analysis was conducted by examining theories and past research findings regarding the impact of Discovery Learning on student motivation and learning outcomes. The study results indicate that implementing Discovery Learning can increase students' learning motivation by providing a more active and meaningful learning experience. Furthermore, previous research also highlights that this model positively contributes to improving students' academic performance. Thus, Discovery Learning can be considered an effective instructional strategy for enhancing motivation and academic achievement in elementary school students.

Furthermore, previous research also highlights that this model positively contributes to improving students' academic performance. Thus, Discovery Learning can be considered an effective instructional strategy for enhancing motivation and academic achievement in elementary school students.
