Opinion is a person's opinion or thought regarding a problem that is currently occurring in society. An opinion must pay attention to the effectiveness of the sentence so that the reader can capture its contents. Therefore, this study will focus on the effectiveness of a sentence in a collection of opinions. This study was conducted to describe the effectiveness of sentences in a collection of opinions as critical reading teaching materials. This type of study is qualitative with a descriptive method; the technique for collecting data is using the listening and note-taking technique. The results of this study indicate that there are still several sentences that are not effective, so that readers have difficulty capturing their contents properly. Effective sentences meet requirements such as the economy of words, commensurate structure, logical language, and careful reasoning. Meanwhile, ineffective sentences occur because the structure of the sentence does not show unity, is wasteful of words or long-winded explanations, and lacks clarity in conveying information. The benefits of this study, in practice, are that it makes it easier for readers to determine the effectiveness of sentences in a collection of opinions. This study took data in the form of ineffective sentences contained in a collection of opinions for statistical literacy, the November 2024 edition of critical reading teaching materials for high school students.

This study aims to analyze the abilities and challenges of grade IV elementary school students in writing argumentative sentences. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach of case study methods on ten students in one of the public elementary schools in Jambi City. Data were obtained through an argumentative sentence writing test and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of the study show that students' ability to write argumentative sentences still varies. Most of the students have been able to convey their opinions in a concise and relevant manner, but there are still obstacles in the mechanical aspects of writing such as the use of spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. These findings show the need for a learning strategy that can develop argumentative writing skills systematically and logically. Toulmin's pattern-based approach and collaborative learning models such as Group Investigation are recommended to improve students' overall argumentative writing skills from the elementary school level.

Mathematics is often referred to as a field of knowledge developed through logical reasoning and is considered essential in everyday life, particularly in problem-solving. One effective way to apply problem-solving skills in mathematics education is through the use of word problems. This study aims to explore and analyze the various obstacles students encounter when solving mathematical word problems. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection methods including tests, interviews, and a project involving the construction of a staircase using standard units of length. The subjects of the study were four third-grade elementary school students in Batusangkar who had previously studied standard units of length. The findings reveal that students faced a range of difficulties, such as challenges in understanding the problems, failure to organize solution steps systematically, and limited comprehension of the concept of standard measurement units. Additionally, a lack of interest in learning was found to negatively impact students’ ability to solve word problems. Therefore, conceptual understanding and increased motivation to learn are crucial factors in enhancing students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Understanding sentence function patterns plays a major role in reading a novel, especially in class XII. By studying the understanding of sentence function patterns, class XII students can understand the important role of sentence function patterns in a novel. This research aims to be an informative and interesting learning resource for class XII students to use novels as enrichment material and improve their language skills. This research considers the function patterns of sentences in the novel "Pulang" by Tere Liye and the feasibility of sentence readability as enrichment material for class XII students. The method used in this research is a qualitative-descriptive method. Qualitative descriptive methods do not rely on evidence-based systematic logic, numerical principles, or statistical methods. This research helps determine the function patterns of sentences through the functions, categories, and roles of sentences in the novel, as well as the data and data sources in this research in the form of collections of sentences in the novel "Pulang" by Tere Liye. The data analysis technique used in this research uses the AGH method. The results of this research found sentence function patterns in the novel "Pulang" by Tere Liye. There are two S-P sentence patterns; there are three S-P-O sentence patterns; there are three S-P-Pel sentence patterns; there are four S-P-O-Pel sentence patterns; there are three S-P-K sentence patterns; there are four S-P-O-K sentence patterns; there are five S-P-O-Pel-K sentence patterns; and there are five S-P-O-Pel-K sentence patterns. Analysis of sentences based on function found the following sentence function patterns: S, P, O, and K. Analysis of sentences based on categories found in sentences is as follows: Function S is in the noun category. Function P is categorized as an adjective or verb. Function O is in the noun category. Ket functions are categorized as verbs, adjectives, and verb phrases. The analysis of sentences based on the roles found in the sentences is as follows: S's function is to act as an actor. Function P acts as a command or action. Function O acts as a sufferer. The functions of information are time, nature, and circumstances. Apart from that, the sentence function patterns in the novel "Pulang" by Tere Liye are suitable as enrichment material for class not good, accuracy in finding sentence function patterns, inaccuracy in finding sentence function patterns, accuracy in preparing sentence function patterns, inaccuracy in preparing sentence function patterns, effectiveness in reading story text narratives in novels, and ineffectiveness in reading story text narratives in novels. The results of this research can provide knowledge and insight into an understanding of In this research, understanding sentence function patterns for class XII students is very important to ensure that the teaching materials presented can be understood and applied by the class.

Algorithms and programming play a crucial role in problem solving and software development. The origin of the word "algorithm" comes from "algorism," and its history can be traced to Abu Ja'far Muhammad Ibn Musa Al-khuwarizmi. This article presents definitions of algorithms from several sources, such as Kani (2020), Jando &; Nani (2018), Munir & Lidya (2016), and Sismoro (2005). The programming algorithm, as a series of logical and systematic steps, becomes the core in Troubleshooting. The research method applied is descriptive and qualitative, by collecting information from various sources, including books, journal articles, and research reports. The discussion in this article covers the significance of algorithms in everyday life and their application in computer programming. In addition, this article details the basic concepts of algorithms, the role of programming languages, and algorithm representation techniques. In the discussion section, it was revealed that algorithms involve logical and systematic steps to solve a task or problem. The basic structure of the algorithm includes repetition, branching, and sequential order. Programming languages contribute to simplifying human interaction with computers, increasing productivity, as well as facilitating software maintenance and development. Algorithms can be represented in the form of descriptive sentences, pseudocode, or flowcharts. Flowcharts use symbols to illustrate the steps of solving a problem. Repetition, branching, and sequential structures can be clearly described through flowcharts. This article provides a comprehensive overview of algorithms and programming, giving readers insight into the basic concepts, implementation, and importance of algorithms in the context of computer programming.
