Cross-infection prevention is a crucial aspect of health services, especially in dental clinics that often face high risks of infection transmission. This community service program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of health workers and the community in preventing cross-infection in dental clinics. These activities include counseling, practical training, and evaluation in several dental clinics, with a focus on the implementation of hygiene protocols, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and sterilization of medical devices. The results of this program showed a significant increase in the understanding and implementation of cross-infection prevention procedures, as measured by questionnaires before and after the program implementation.

Background: Children who experience dental and oral health problems can experience a decline in quality. At the age of elementary school children, it is necessary for business actors to maintain dental and oral health regularly, both in counseling, examinations and dental and oral health care, by parents, schools and related government agencies. Elementary school age is the ideal time to train children's motor skills, including brushing their teeth. In addition, school age has shown learning sensitivity according to children's curiosity. Objective: To provide dental and oral health education through interactive learning media to students of SDN Inpres Tamamaung 4, Makassar City in 2022. Method: This community service is carried out by providing counseling, using media, namely back and forth worksheets, animated films, and puzzle games that aim to create two-way communication and make students active. Respondents in this community service were 3rd grade students of SDN Inpres Tamamaung 4, Makassar City in 2022. Results: There were 5 respondents (25%) with a good level of knowledge before being given facilities increasing to 14 (70%), there were 5 respondents (25%) with a sufficient level of knowledge before being given facilities decreasing to 4 (20%), and there were 10 respondents (50%) with a level of knowledge before being given facilities decreasing to 2 respondents (10%). Conclusion: Community service activities with the theme "Dental and Oral Health Education Through Interactive-Based Learning Media for Students of SDN Inpres Tamamaung 4, Makassar City in 2022" have been carried out well and received a positive response from the 3rd grade students that we have filtered through screening. It was found that many students have dental and oral problems such as cavities and their lack of knowledge about how to maintain dental and oral health is due to the lack of health socialization held by the school and local health centers.

The lack of oral hygiene become a problem for elderly. The main aims of this research is to analyze the related factors due to oral hygiene consists of age, sex, education degree, occupation, marital status, knowledge, motivation, physical dependence, culture, anxiety, economic of family and elderly. The design of this research were descriptive analytic and cross sectional. UPTD Puskesmas I Penebel was the location where this research was conducted. Purposes sampling technique was used with the total samples where 80 respondents. The results showed the significant correlation between oral hygiene and knowledge (p value 0,013, r = 0,277), motivation (p value 0,005, r = 0,311), physical dependence (p value 0,011, r = 0,285), economic of family and elderly (p value 0,0000, r = 0,400), anxiety (p value 0,0185, r = -0,265). There was no correlation between culture and oral hygiene (p value 0,187, r = -0,149). Based on this research, it is recomended that oral hygiene supposed to be clearly informed to elderly by elderly posyandu (integrated treatment) activities, and regularly oral hygiene checkup which is integrated in puskesmas (civic health Centre).

Patient anxiety during tooth extraction is a common challenge in dental practice that can affect patient experience and outcome of the procedure. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of approaches and strategies to address patient anxiety during tooth extraction procedures. Through counseling designed to improve patient understanding of the causes of anxiety, relaxation skills, and communication with the dentist, this study measured its impact on patient anxiety levels and preparedness. The study involved patients undergoing tooth extraction procedures, where they attended a counseling session that included information on factors that cause anxiety, breathing relaxation techniques, and communication skills. Data were collected before and after the counseling through a survey that assessed patient knowledge, ability to apply relaxation techniques, self-confidence, and anxiety levels. The results showed a significant increase in patient understanding of the causes of anxiety from 50% to 85%, ability to apply relaxation techniques from 30% to 75%, and self-confidence in facing the procedure from 40% to 80%. In addition, the ability to communicate with the dentist increased from 45% to 78%, and anxiety levels decreased from 70% to 40%. These findings confirm that an educational approach is effective in reducing patient anxiety, increasing preparedness, and improving the experience during tooth extraction. This strategy can be implemented widely to improve the quality of care and patient well-being in dental practice.

Periodontal disease is a complication that often occurs in diabetes mellitus (DM) patients. This disease can worsen the patient's general health condition. This community service aims to increase awareness and knowledge about periodontal disease in DM patients at the Bara-Barayya Health Center. The methods used include counseling, dental and oral health checks, and distribution of educational leaflets. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the knowledge and awareness of DM patients regarding the importance of maintaining oral health. It is hoped that this will help in the prevention and management of periodontal disease in DM patients.

Dental and oral hygiene is when there is no dirt and dental caries in the mouth. This is due to the fact that children in schools do not understand the effects of not brushing their teeth which can affect the body's metabolism. Preliminary research at SD Pertiwi showed that some school-age children do not understand the behavior of brushing their teeth. The purpose of this study was to determine how the behavior of brushing teeth at school age at SD Pertiwi. This study was designed to use a quantitative descriptive method. This study involved all students of SD Pertiwi, totaling 89 male and female students, and the sampling technique was random sampling. The research method was a questionnaire, consisting of 18 questions. Univariate analysis was used to analyze the data. The results showed that school-age children at SD Pertiwi Besar had good behavior when brushing their teeth (92.1%) and bad behavior as much as 7.9%.

Background: Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) is characterized by craniofacial pain involving the jaw joint, masticatory muscles, or muscles that innervate the head and neck. The causes of TMD are multifactorial, including tooth loss and bad habits. The new DC/TMD protocol is a TMD examination protocol that is highly recommended for use as a clinical and research protocol for dentists. Objective: This study aims to determine the prevalence of TMD diagnosis results using the DC/TMD method, to determine the types of TMD diseases experienced and their relationship to the status of tooth loss in students. Method: The study used a cross-sectional analytical design with samples that met the inclusion criteria of 150 students aged 19-25 years who were taken by total sampling. The research subjects were asked to agree and sign an informed consent in advance by the researcher. Data were obtained from the results of anamnesis and physical examination with a diagnosis of TMD using the DC/TMD protocol based on the International RDC/TMD Consortium Network which has been translated into Indonesian. The examination data were processed using SPSS statistical software with univariate and bivariate tests. Knowledge of how to maintain proper dental health will greatly Affects theincidence of dental caries, brushing and rinsing teeth - gargling is one of the behaviors to maintain oral hygiene. behavior based on correct knowledge will last longer than behavior that is not based on knowledge, an effort to increase knowledge is through health education. Online media is one of the educational media to increase knowledge of dental and oral health. The type of research in this study is a comparative analysis or "causal-comparative". The sampling technique which was used is the quota sampling based on 100 people in Puskesmas Minasa Upa as the research location.The research variable was the online media instagram in increasing knowledge of caries. The statistical analysis which was used is the T-test to show the relationship of Instagram in increasing the knowledge.The result shows that there is a role for education through online media in increasing the knowledge of cavities.
