The development of digital technology has brought about significant changes in various aspects of life, including early childhood faith education. Today’s children are growing up in an environment familiar with digital media, making it necessary to adopt a catechetical approach that keeps pace with the times. This article aims to examine the use of digital catechesis as a tool for early childhood faith education. This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, gathering data from books, scientific journals, research articles, Church documents, and other relevant sources. The data is analyzed using descriptive-qualitative methods to understand the benefits, challenges, and role of digital catechesis in fostering children’s faith. Research findings indicate that digital catechesis can serve as an effective, engaging, and interactive medium for helping children learn about the teachings of the faith from an early age. The use of animated videos, religious songs, educational images, and learning apps can enhance children’s interest in learning, attention, and understanding of Catholic faith values. Furthermore, digital catechesis also assists the Church, families, and schools in providing faith education that is more contextual and aligned with the world of today’s children. However, the use of digital media still requires the guidance of parents, teachers, and faith mentors so that children receive proper direction and are protected from the negative impacts of technology. Thus, digital catechesis is a relevant tool in the faith education of young children when used wisely and purposefully. The presence of digital media does not replace the role of faith educators but serves as a tool that enriches the process of proclaiming the faith in the modern era.

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed patterns of communication, learning processes, and the ways believers access religious information in daily life. While this transformation provides easier access to information, it also fosters an instant culture characterized by fast, brief, and less reflective information consumption. This condition poses significant challenges for the Church, particularly in faith formation, as it may weaken the depth of believers’ understanding of faith. This study aims to examine the role of literate catechesis as a response to the instant culture of the digital era, while also exploring the opportunities offered by digital media in faith proclamation. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method based on relevant academic sources. The findings indicate that literate catechesis plays a crucial role in fostering mature faith through reading, reflection, and critical thinking processes, enabling believers not only to consume information but also to internalize and live out their faith more deeply. On the other hand, digital media offers significant opportunities to develop catechesis that is broader, more participatory, and contextually relevant. Integrating reflective depth with creative digital approaches is essential to ensure that faith formation remains both meaningful and relevant within an increasingly instant-oriented culture.

Advances in digital technology have transformed the paradigm of faith proclamation, requiring the Church to optimize social media as a relevant catechetical instrument. This study aims to examine how the use of the TikTok platform can be optimized as an effective means of creative catechesis in connecting complex faith teachings for people in the digital era. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study technique, where data is collected from various scientific literature, Church documents, and relevant library sources. The research findings indicate that TikTok is an effective digital space for catechesis because it is supported by attractive audio-visual features, interactive features such as stitches and comments that enable two-way dialogue, and an algorithmic system that expands the reach of proclamation. The strategy of catechesis through short videos has proven to be able to change the perception of faith teaching that has become rigid to a more personal spiritual experience that is easily understood by all levels of society, especially the younger generation. The implications of this study emphasize the need for the Church to consistently adapt to digital culture and increase content creativity to ensure the continuity of inclusive evangelization amidst the dynamics of modern developments.

This study aims to examine the role of literary catechesis in helping believers, especially young people, to understand and live out the Word of God in their daily lives. The background of this research is rooted in the rapid development of technology and the flow of information, which significantly influence how young people perceive and experience their faith. In this context, catechesis is often still conducted in a one-way manner and tends to lack connection with participants’ lived experiences. Therefore, a more contextual and participatory approach is needed. This research employs a literature study method by analyzing various sources, including academic journals and Church documents, particularly the Petunjuk untuk Katekese (2020). The findings show that literary catechesis is an effective approach because it places Sacred Scripture at the center of faith formation through processes of reading, understanding, and reflecting on the text. This approach enables participants not only to know the content of Scripture but also to relate it to their personal life experiences.

The development of globalization, digital technology, and social change has influenced the way young people understand and live out their faith. Secularism tends to place religion in the private sphere, so that religious values do not always become the basis for decision-making in daily life. This study aims to analyze the challenges of secularism to the formation of the identity of Catholic youth in the modern era and to formulate relevant religious education responses in addressing these dynamics. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method that examines various scientific literature, Church documents, and research findings related to the phenomenon of secularism and the formation of the religious identity of Catholic youth. The results of the study indicate that secularism has a complex impact on the faith life of young people, including decreased participation in Church activities, the emergence of individualistic attitudes, and the tendency to view religion merely as a formal identity. However, on the other hand, the modern era also opens opportunities for young people to develop their faith creatively through the use of digital technology and involvement in faith communities. Therefore, Catholic religious education and pastoral accompaniment that are dialogical, contextual, and participatory are very important in helping Catholic youth integrate their faith into daily life. This study is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions for educators and pastoral ministers in fostering the faith identity of Catholic youth in modern society.

. The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes in various fields, including education and church life. This study aims to examine the dynamics of the formation of prospective catechists in facing the challenges of AI use at the IPI Malang Pastoral College. This study used a qualitative, descriptive approach, through observation and interviews with students as research subjects. The results show that the use of AI has become an integral part of the learning process, helping students understand material, develop academic skills, and enhance creativity in the pastoral field. However, the use of AI also poses challenges in the form of a tendency towards instantaneous attitudes and potential dependency that can hinder critical thinking skills and deep reflection on faith. In the context of pastoral education, the formation of prospective catechists emphasizes not only intellectual aspects but also spirituality, personality, and pastoral sensitivity. Therefore, the wise and proportional use of AI is necessary, while still positioning it as a supporting tool, not a substitute for human roles. The role of lecturers and educational institutions is crucial in guiding students to be able to use technology critically, reflectively, and responsibly. Thus, the integration of technology and faith values is expected to produce prospective catechists who are able to respond to the challenges of the times in a relevant and meaningful manner.

The church has an important role in guiding its people to integrate their faith in digital life, making technology a tool to strengthen faith and Christian values. This article provides some suggestions for the effective use of social media in catechesis, such as the development of innovative catechesis programs, digital education for parishioners, collaboration with communities and technologists, and evaluation of the impact of social media use. In this strategy, the Church can utilize social media to strengthen the faith of the people and create a more faithful and dignified community in the digital age.
