Determinan Kesejahteraan Subjektif Petani Padi di Subak Munggu, Kabupaten Badung

The agricultural sector plays a vital role in the economy and food security; however, the rapid growth of the tourism sector in Badung Regency has accelerated the conversion of agricultural land, potentially affecting the welfare of rice farmers. Farmers’ welfare is determined not only by economic factors but also by health conditions, education, and social relationships reflected in the value of menyama braya within the Subak system. This study aims to analyze the effects of farm income, farmer exchange rate, health, education, and menyama braya on the subjective well-being of rice farmers in Subak Munggu, Badung Regency. A quantitative approach was employed using a sample of 86 rice farmers selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires and were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results indicate that farm income, farmer exchange rate, health, and menyama braya have a positive and significant effect on the subjective well-being of rice farmers. In contrast, education does not have a significant effect on farmers’ subjective well-being. These findings suggest that improving farmers’ subjective well-being depends not only on economic conditions but also on health status and harmonious social relationships within the Subak community. Therefore, efforts to sustain farming activities, improve farmers’ health, and preserve the value of menyama braya should be strengthened to enhance the subjective well-being of rice farmers.
