Digital Media's Interconnection with Contemporary Spirituality and Psychological Well-being in the 21st Century

Abstract
This study aims to investigate the interrelation of Digital Media with Modern Spirituality and Psychological Well-being in the 21st Century, where technology has created a new spiritual environment (Digital Religion and Digital Church) that necessitates theological and pastoral transformation. The research focuses on examining the extent to which digital interaction and literacy mediate or moderate the relationship between modern spirituality and an individual's level of psychological well-being. The research method is a qualitative descriptive literature review with an interdisciplinary approach, concentrating on the analysis and synthesis of literature from the latest scientific journals (2019–2025) in the fields of theology, psychology, and digital media studies to build a conceptual understanding. The findings indicate that Digital Media has established the phenomena of Digital Spirituality and Digital Church, which transforms the meaning of Christian faith and social relationships. It provides a positive impact on Psychological Well-being through access and support, yet it also risks causing fragmentation and superficiality of spirituality, thereby demanding the need for prudent digital literacy and theological transformation.
