Studi Literatur Gastropoda terhadap Kondisi Ekosistem

Prosiding Ilmu Kependidikan 📅 2024 Vol 1, No 1
Abstract
This study aims to explore the role of gastropods in mangrove and coastal ecosystems and their relationship with environmental conditions. Through a literature review, various factors influencing the diversity and distribution of gastropod species, such as salinity, pH, and organic content of substrates, were examined. The findings indicate that healthy mangrove ecosystems support high gastropod diversity, which serves as bioindicators for assessing environmental quality. Environmental degradation due to human activities, such as pollution and sedimentation, has led to a decline in gastropod species, with more tolerant species increasingly dominating. This research also highlights the importance of gastropods in nutrient cycling within the ecosystem and their responses to environmental changes. In conclusion, gastropods are key components of mangrove ecosystems, functioning not only as indicators of environmental health but also playing a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance. These findings emphasize the need for more integrated conservation approaches to protect this biodiversity amid the challenges of climate change and environmental degradation.
