Rapid urbanization, especially in developing countries, has worsened spatial inequality and environmental degradation, impacting vulnerable urban communities living in informal settlements with limited access to services and increased environmental risks. This study examines the role of spatial planning law in promoting social justice and environmental protection in urban areas, particularly for marginalized populations. While spatial planning laws have the potential to promote equity and sustainability, inconsistent enforcement and inadequate evaluation mechanisms reduce their effectiveness. Using a qualitative legal analysis approach, the research reviews statutory frameworks, urban planning documents, and case studies to assess the practical application of these laws. Findings show that integrating spatial planning laws with social justice and environmental sustainability principles can enhance the living conditions of vulnerable communities by ensuring equitable resource access and reducing exposure to environmental hazards. However, fragmented legal frameworks, weak enforcement, and a lack of participatory planning hinder their impact. Comparing with traditional urban planning, social justice-oriented spatial planning provides more sustainable outcomes by prioritizing equity and environmental protection. The study recommends policy reforms to strengthen law enforcement, encourage inclusive decision-making, and integrate social justice and sustainability into urban planning frameworks. Further research is needed to assess the long-term impacts and role of these laws in achieving equitable urban development.

In the customary law system, there is a pattern of punishment and prosecution which is more or less similar to the Islamic legal system, where the role of the victim's family is very important in determining whether or not the perpetrator will be prosecuted and punished. In customary law, legal settlements are carried out with an emphasis on togetherness or harmony. Settlement of criminal cases, especially bullying through customary law, is a process of resolving cases outside of court which consists of first, a mediation system with a consensus approach through deliberation. Second, the restorative justice system is a case resolution system with the aim of restoring the situation that arose for the victim so that a sense of brotherhood between each party is re-established. This system produces an agreement that is a win-win solution, guarantees the confidentiality of the parties' disputes, avoids delays caused by procedural and administrative matters, and resolves problems comprehensively together and while maintaining good relations. Thus, these customary sanctions do not provide legal protection and fulfillment of children's rights for children who are victims of sexual violence. In sexual crimes against children, children are positioned as victims who experience detrimental impacts, namely physical and psychological harm. Therefore, it is mandatory to be protected, not judged.

Hiripau Village, inhabited by the Kamoro ethnic community, exhibits housing conditions that do not meet the basic infrastructure standards for livable settlements. This study aims to identify the characteristics of housing facilities and infrastructure, as well as to formulate a development strategy for the area. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing field observation, in-depth interviews with local residents and traditional leaders, and documentation of existing conditions. The findings indicate that basic infrastructure components such as neighborhood roads, clean water supply, sanitation systems, drainage, and waste management are in inadequate condition. The development of Jayapura City as the capital of Papua Province has grown into a region very rapidly from being a modern city. The classification of areas in Jayapura City is included in the heterogeneous area group where the types of population come from various tribes and regions that live in Jayapura City. The city of Jayapura has land and sea areas with different areas, and has residential characteristics as a traditional village. The settlements of Kampung Enggros and Kampung Tobati are located around the coast of Yotefa Bay, including in the South Jayapura District and Abepura District of Jayapura Municipality, where the community builds their settlements above sea water. One thing that residents will face is the relationship between humans and the places where they live, which cannot be separated from nature. The research methods used to achieve the objectives of this research are comparative analysis and qualitative methods. The comparative analysis method displays settlement patterns with comparisons between 2019-2023 in the form of images.  Qualitative descriptive analysis method by presenting actual settlement development problems in the field in the form of pictures. The research results show that there are 3 factors for settlement development in Enggros and Tobati Villages, namely, Community, Protection and Network. Society is changing from traditional to modern, for example traditional houses become modern houses that keep up with the times. The network turns into a spatial structure in a pattern that is influenced by the economic aspects of indigenous communities. The main thing is natural factors because in the general view of indigenous Papuans, what is meant by their home is the natural surroundings where they can live.

This research aims to examine residents' perceptions of the influence of location and price on purchasing decisions at Indomaret, Purwobinangun Village, Langkat Regency. The background to this research is based on the phenomenon of the increasing number of modern retail outlets penetrating rural areas, which were previously dominated by traditional markets. The presence of Indomaret as the only modern retail in this area creates challenges for local stalls and creates differences in prices and ease of access for consumers. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach with an interview method with residents of Purwobinangun Village and its surroundings as informants. The research results show that even though Indomaret's location is far from the city center, local people feel that the location is strategic because it is close to their settlements and easy to access. Apart from that, the price difference with local shops is considered reasonable, and promotions held by Indomaret increasingly attract consumers to shop. In conclusion, location and price factors at Indomaret play a significant role in influencing village community purchasing decisions. This research is important to understand the adaptation of village communities to modern retail and apply it to local market development.

Historically, the outer space structure of the Sentani traditional defense settlement is an ancestral formation aimed at protecting its citizens from outside intervention and defending themselves from tribal wars. The phenomenon of this ancestral formation is maintained until now as a pattern of traditional Sentani defense settlements. From the previous research has been stated, research on traditional settlement patterns on the meaning of defense and the sacredness of outer spatial planning has never been carried out. No research reveals that the sacred outer space in the traditional Sentani settlement is a phenomenon formed by a sacred defense space to protect indigenous peoples from intervention and tribal wars. The research method used is a qualitative approach using the Intrisic Case Study Approach model with the nature of descriptive research. Data analysis in this study used the method of Discovering Cultural Themes. The locus of this research is the oldest village written in historical references and the Sentani traditional village on Lake Sentani today. The data collection method used observation, in-depth participant interviews, measurable pictures, and photographs. The study results found that the structure of the sacred outer space of the traditional settlements formed by the ancestors is still maintained today as a pattern of traditional Sentani defense settlements. The structural pattern of the sacred space forms a defense space in the traditional Sentani settlement forming a sacred outdoor layout for the Sentani indigenous people with one entrance for visitors or guests to the traditional village, namely a wooden pier for the boat landing. The sacred outer spatial arrangement is indicated by the position of the "Obe Imae" traditional house as the center of activity and customary activities are located at the very front, the two customary zones as the seat of tribal chiefs (traditional devices), the third community zone as the residential space of indigenous peoples, the fourth zone ancestors (traditional graves) and the fifth highest worship zone, namely the church as a place of worship to God.
