This article examines Romans 14:7-9 as a foundational biblical text for the concept of life ownership in New Testament ethics. Using a historical-exegetical and theological-systematic approach, it demonstrates that the passage clearly declares that neither life nor death belongs to the individual believer. Both are to be lived and died “to the Lord,” affirming that Christians are ultimately the possession of Christ as Kyrios. This theocentric view directly challenges the modern secular principle of radical patient autonomy that underpins euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. The study provides a detailed exegesis of Romans 14:7-9 in its literary and historical context, explores parallel New Testament texts on life ownership, and discusses its ethical implications for contemporary medical practice. It argues that Romans 14:7-9 offers strong biblical grounds for rejecting active euthanasia while supporting compassionate palliative care that honors human dignity until natural death. In the Indonesian context, where euthanasia is legally prohibited, this perspective provides a robust theological foundation for Christian bioethics and public policy. A truly good death, according to the New Testament, is one that occurs in submission to the sovereignty of the risen Lord.

Bullying is a common occurrence in schools and public settings, often affecting children. However, this issue often goes unnoticed because it is considered commonplace, despite the significant impact it can have on victims. This study aims to determine the impact of bullying on a child's personality and educational process. The impact of bullying on children who are victims of bullying is that victims experience physical and non-physical violence. These include frequent social isolation, a lack of close friends, poor relationships with parents, and declining mental health. The worst impact for children who are victims of bullying is depression and even suicide. This can lead to prolonged trauma for children who are victims of bullying. Furthermore, a child who is a victim of bullying will also experience learning and academic difficulties. One action that can be taken for a child who is a perpetrator or victim of bullying is to provide affection, trust, involve them in positive activities, and educate them about the negative impacts of bullying. Therefore, collaboration between schools, teachers, and parents is needed to address bullying against children.

Terrorism is a serious threat to the security and unity of the Indonesian nation. Events such as the suicide bombing at the Medan Police Headquarters in 2019 show that acts of terror are increasingly complex and require swift and appropriate handling. For this reason, the government passed Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism as a legal basis that strengthens the authority of the apparatus, including the Gegana Detachment of the Indonesian National Police Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob), in carrying out counter-terrorism operations. This study aims to determine and analyze how the implementation of Law No. 5 of 2018 is carried out by the Gegana Detachment in the North Sumatra Regional Police area, identify obstacles faced in operations, and formulate strategies to increase the effectiveness of the implementation of the law. The results of the study show that the implementation of this law has been implemented through preventive, preemptive, and repressive approaches, such as sterilization of places of worship, social activities "Love Sunday", security patrols, and anti-terror training simulations. However, implementation in the field still faces various obstacles, including limited modern equipment, lack of cross-agency coordination, and low public participation. Therefore, personnel capacity building, infrastructure modernization, and strengthening inter-agency synergy are needed to achieve more effective counterterrorism efforts in North Sumatra.

Suicide among adolescents is a serious mental health problem; however, not all adolescents with suicidal ideation progress to suicide attempts. Understanding the psychological factors that influence the transition from intention to actual behavior is essential for effective prevention efforts. This study aims to examine the role of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in understanding the transition from suicidal intention to suicide attempt behavior, as well as protective behaviors such as mental health help-seeking among adolescents. This study employs a literature review method with a quantitative correlational approach based on the TPB framework, using secondary data from scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025 and obtained through Google Scholar and PubMed. The findings indicate that suicidal ideation is the strongest predictor of suicidal intention but does not always lead to suicide attempts. TPB constructs, particularly perceived behavioral control (PBC), play a crucial role in determining whether intention develops into risky behavior or is redirected toward protective behaviors. In addition, positive attitudes toward mental health services and supportive social norms were found to strengthen adolescents’ intentions to seek help. In conclusion, TPB is a relevant theoretical framework for explaining both risk pathways and prevention pathways of adolescent suicide and has the potential to serve as a foundation for developing more effective prevention interventions.

This study aims to analyze the enforcement of criminal law against cyberbullying that leads to suicide in Indonesia. The research employs a normative and empirical juridical approach by examining existing regulations and analyzing cases through interviews with law enforcement officials and related parties. The findings indicate that despite cyberbullying being regulated under the ITE Law and the Criminal Code, its enforcement still faces challenges, such as difficulties in identifying perpetrators due to digital anonymity, a lack of technical understanding among law enforcement officers, and low public awareness of the serious impact of online harassment. The cases of Yoga Cahyadi in Indonesia and Hana Kimura in Japan demonstrate that cyberbullying can cause severe psychological distress, ultimately driving victims to take their own lives. In conclusion, stricter regulations are needed to classify cyberbullying as a specific criminal offense with clearer sanctions. Additionally, strengthening the capacity of law enforcement in cybercrime investigations and enhancing digital literacy education among the public are crucial preventive measures. Public awareness campaigns and collaboration between the government, social media platforms, and educational institutions are also necessary to create a safer and harassment-free digital environment.

Suicide among university students, particularly those who have moved away from home, is a serious issue. One contributing factor is their level of adaptation self-efficacy. Parenting styles are thought to influence this self-efficacy, though this link hasn't been firmly established in research. This study aimed to investigate this relationship among students at Semarang Health Polytechnic. Using a correlational approach with a cross-sectional method, 53 second-year students were surveyed from campus 1 of Semarang Health Polytechnic, chosen via total sampling. The data, analyzed using Spearman's Rank correlation test, revealed a significant connection (p = 0.000, correlation coefficient = 0.520) between parenting styles and adaptation self-efficacy among these students. Most respondents experienced democratic parenting (62.3%) and showed adequate adaptation self-efficacy (60.4%). Euthanasia, also known as “Assisted Suicide”, is the deliberate act of ending a person's life to relieve their suffering that cannot be relieved by treatment. This has sparked debate in various fields, including in the field of Islamic law or syariah. In the perspective of syariah law, life is considered a gift from Allah that must be fully protected. Protection of life is the main goal of Syariah (maqasid al-shariah). Therefore, Islam strictly prohibits any attempt to end life intentionally, including euthanasia. According to syariah law, only Allah has full rights over a person's life and death. Euthanasia is considered a violation of the basic principles of syariah which prohibit killing, whether of oneself or another person. Although reasons such as suffering and pain are often used to justify euthanasia, in the view of syariah, suffering is considered a test that must be faced with patience and devotion to Allah. This article aims to examine in depth the view of syariah law towards lethal injection.
