Exercise is a planned physical activity that not only contributes to physical fitness but also plays a significant role in maintaining and improving mental health. This study aims to explore the relationship between physical exercise and mental well-being among adolescents and university students with diverse backgrounds of physical activity. The research employs a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with five informants, consisting of university students who engage in recreational exercise, recreational runners, middle- and long-distance runners, and a sprinter. Data collection was conducted in several public sports spaces in the city of Bandung, focusing on participants’ subjective experiences related to their psychological conditions before and after engaging in exercise. The findings indicate that all participants perceive exercise as an effective means of emotional regulation. Physical activity is consistently associated with improved mood, reduced stress, enhanced sleep quality, stable energy levels, and increased academic concentration and focus. In addition, exercise contributes to the development of self-confidence, self-efficacy, and self-control through structured routines. The social aspects of exercise, such as support from peers, communities, and coaches, were shown to strengthen the sustainability of physical activity while also providing essential emotional support for mental health. However, among competitive athletes, performance-related pressure was identified as a factor that may negatively affect psychological well-being, although this effect can be moderated by adequate social support. Overall, the findings of this study emphasize that exercise functions as an adaptive coping mechanism operating through biological, psychological, and social pathways, and highlight the importance of consistency and balance in physical activity to achieve optimal mental health benefits.

The 50 meter freestyle is a sprint event that requires explosive strength, efficient technique, and optimal body stability. Arm muscle strength contributes directly to propulsion, while core muscle strength supports stability and force transfer. This study aimed to analyze the influence of arm and abdominal muscle strength on 50-meter freestyle swimming performance among athletes of the Science Swimming Team (SST) Sidoarjo. A quantitative correlational design was employed with a sample of 10 athletes aged 10–12 years (5 males, 5 females). Arm muscle strength was measured using the pull-up test, abdominal strength with a 30-second sit-up test, and swimming performance with the best time in a 50-meter freestyle trial. Data were analyzed using Spearman correlation and multiple linear regression with a 0.05 significance level. Results indicated a significant correlation between arm strength and swimming performance (r = 0.773; p = 0.009), while abdominal strength showed a positive but non-significant correlation (r = 0.609; p = 0.062). Regression analysis revealed that both variables together explained 57.7% of the variance in swimming speed. It is concluded that arm muscle strength has a dominant influence on freestyle sprint performance, whereas core muscles serve as supporting factors for stability and efficiency. These findings highlight the importance of integrated training programs combining arm and core strengthening to optimize sprint performance in young swimmers.

In modern soccer, lower-limb power is a crucial component that determines an athlete’s performance in sprinting, kicking, and jumping. This study aimed to compare the effects of Squat jump and Hexagon jump plyometric exercises on lower limb power in youth soccer athletes from Garuda Timur Football Academy Surabaya. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest two group design involving 12 athletes aged 14–17 years. Participants were divided into two groups of six: a Hexagon jump group and a Squat jump group. Lower limb power was assessed using the vertical jump test before and after the training intervention. Data were analyzed using the Matched Subject Ordinal Pairing (MSOP) method to determine the relative effectiveness of both training types. The results indicated that both exercises significantly improved athletes’ vertical jump performance. However, the Hexagon jump exercise showed greater effectiveness, with a winning proportion of 67% (4 out of 6 pairs) compared to 33% for the Squat jump. The superior results of the Hexagon jump group were attributed to its multidirectional movement pattern, which provides greater stimulation of coordination, balance, and neuromuscular reactivity. Therefore, it can be concluded that Hexagon jump training is more effective than Squat jump in enhancing lower limb power among youth soccer athletes.

Athletic physical condition is a key factor in determining an athlete's performance during competitions. This study aims to assess the physical condition of Unesa Women FC athletes using a descriptive quantitative method, involving 20 athletes as the sample. Data was collected through a series of physical tests to measure various aspects of physical fitness, including aerobic endurance, speed, agility, leg strength, and explosive power. The tests conducted included the Multistage Fitness Test (MFT) for aerobic endurance, a 30-meter sprint for speed, Illinois Agility Run for agility, Leg Dynamometer for leg strength, and Jump MD for explosive power. The results of the study show that the average VO2Max of the athletes is 30.8 ml/kg/min, which falls into the "Poor" category. This indicates that the athletes' aerobic endurance has not yet reached the optimal standard required for competitive performance. The 30-meter sprint time recorded was 5.53 seconds, categorized as "Good," indicating that the athletes have adequate speed. However, the agility score obtained from the Illinois Agility Run was 21.97 seconds, classified as "Poor," suggesting that the athletes need to improve their agility for quicker movements on the field. The explosive power score, measured by the Jump MD test, was 45.75 cm, which also falls into the "Poor" category, while leg strength, measured using the Leg Dynamometer, resulted in a score of 57.47 kg, classified as "Very Poor." These findings indicate that most components of the physical condition of the Unesa Women FC athletes are still below optimal levels. Therefore, the study emphasizes the need for a more structured and targeted physical training program tailored to the individual needs of each athlete. A training program designed based on these test results will help improve the physical fitness components that are lacking and support the enhancement of their performance during competitions.

Village websites currently generally only provide information in the form of an interface for users, such as village profiles, potential areas, population data, and current news. However, the majority are not yet equipped with Application Programming Interface (API) support that allows for flexible and automated data integration and exchange. This is a challenge when dynamic access is needed by third-party systems, such as public service platforms, mobile applications, or local government information systems, which require real-time and accurate synchronization of population data. The project aims to implement a RESTful API that can be accessed securely, efficiently, and easily understood by developers to retrieve villagers' data. The development of the system is carried out using the Agile method, which supports rapid iteration and periodic evaluation to ensure that each feature functions optimally according to the needs of users and field conditions. This Agile method is applied in several sprints that include the stages of needs planning, designing the API endpoint structure, coding, documentation, and testing of the integration and security of the system as a whole. The results of the implementation show that the API successfully retrieves data directly from the village database, and presents it in a JSON format that is compatible for use by both frontend and third-party systems. This API supports pagination features for efficient access to large amounts of data, and is equipped with Basic Authentication to keep data access secure from being abused. With this API, the village website not only becomes a static information medium, but also transforms into a digital service platform that is open for cross-system integration. This supports the development of a more modern, efficient, sustainable, and collaborative village information system in the future, so that public services can be significantly improved.
