This study examines the role of halal tourism in enhancing destination competitiveness and strengthening the Islamic economy within the tourism sector. This research employs a systematic literature review to synthesize findings from relevant academic sources. The results indicate that halal tourism contributes significantly to destination competitiveness by increasing tourist arrivals and encouraging product diversification. In addition, it supports the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and promotes local economic growth through a multiplier effect. Halal tourism also fosters ethical business practices and sustainable tourism development aligned with Islamic principles. However, its implementation faces key challenges, including limited infrastructure, complex halal certification procedures, and perceptions of exclusivity among non-Muslim tourists. Therefore, strategic efforts are required to improve Muslim-friendly infrastructure, streamline certification processes, strengthen MSME capacity through training and digitalization, and adopt inclusive branding strategies. These measures are expected to enhance the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of halal tourism destinations in the global market.

The development of rural economies based on locally superior commodities is an integral part of inclusive and sustainable development strategies. Sumberdem located in Wonosari Subdistrict, Malang Regency, possesses significant potential for the development of coffee-based ecotourism. However, this potential remains largely underutilized due to several structural and institutional constraints. Key challenges include inadequate supporting infrastructure, limited capacity of local human resources, and the absence of downstream processing for coffee products. This community engagement program implemented an adaptive approach known as the Lumintu model, rooted in the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) framework. Field assessments revealed critical limitations such as poor road access to plantation areas, insufficient agricultural irrigation, and weak digital connectivity. Moreover, the capacity of village institutions—such as the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDesa) and coffee farmer groups—remained low, resulting in local coffee products with limited added value. The initial implementation of the program has shown promising results, particularly in strengthening institutional capacity through training on tourism business management and high–value coffee processing. Furthermore, product diversification through the development of coffee-based agrotourism and digital marketing innovations has been successfully introduced. Overall, this community engagement initiative has provided a concrete solution to rural development challenges in Sumberdem Village. Moving forward, the village is expected to strengthen its position as a sustainable coffee ecotourism destination and improve the long-term economic well-being of its residents. The proposed development model also holds the potential for adaptation and replication in other rural areas with similar characteristics, thereby supporting the broader achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Dairy goat farming holds significant economic potential as a rural enterprise alternative, driven by increasing market demand for goat milk, which is known for being low-allergen and highly nutritious. This article presents a case study on Okane Mochi Farm, a dairy goat farming unit located in Ngaglik Village, Gebang District, Purworejo Regency. This study aims to analyze the breeding management strategies, product innovation, and economic impacts generated by the farm. The method used is field observation and descriptive study of the farm's operations. Observations indicate that the success of Okane Mochi Farm is driven by three main factors: (1) Innovation in selecting superior breeds such as Anglo Nubian and Sapera for high milk productivity; (2) Implementation of strict housing management and hygiene standards to maintain milk quality; and (3) Product diversification through flavored pasteurized milk processing and the utilization of livestock waste into organic fertilizer (zero waste). The study concludes that the upstream-downstream integration model applied by Okane Mochi Farm can serve as a reference for sustainable rural economic empowerment models.

In today's era, business competition is getting tighter, including among similar business players in the Asian free market. Competition is not only about price and product quality, but also includes marketing strategies, service innovation, and maintaining consumer loyalty. This research aims to analyze the marketing strategies implemented by PT. Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) in facing globalization and the Asian free market through a SWOT analysis approach. In the context of increasingly tight competition in the motorcycle market, HPM must be able to adapt effective marketing strategies to maintain its position as the market leader in Indonesia and develop its market share in Asia. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study on HPM, exploring the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by the company in the context of a free market and the dynamics of the automotive industry. The analysis results show that HPM has strengths in a strong brand, extensive distribution networks, and innovation capabilities in products. However, there are weaknesses in product diversification and dependence on the domestic market. Existing opportunities include market expansion in Asia and increasing demand for environmentally friendly vehicles, while threats come from intense competition and fluctuations in the global economy. Diversification of agricultural products is one strategy to increase the added value and competitiveness of local commodities. Avocado (Persea americana) is a tropical fruit that is rich in nutrients, such as healthy fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals. However, the use of avocados in Indonesia is still limited to fresh consumption and simple processing. This research aims to develop an innovative product in the form of avocado-based sponge cake as an effort to diversify agricultural products. The method used includes organoleptic testing. The research results show that the use of avocado in making sponge cake can improve the soft texture, distinctive aroma, color and unique taste. Organoleptic tests show a good level of consumer acceptance with an average score of above 50% in the aspects of taste, color and texture. Apart from that, nutritional analysis shows that avocado cake has a higher content of healthy fats and fiber than conventional cake. Implementation of this product has the potential to open up new market opportunities and provide added value for local avocado farmers.
