This study examines the meaning of eschatology in the teachings of the Catholic Church as a source of hope and comfort for the faithful. The eschatological meaning of comfort and hope is rooted in the belief that human life is not completed in limitations, suffering, and death at this time, but leads to the fulfillment of God's promise of life with Him. This research uses a qualitative method through literature study by analyzing church documents, theological thoughts and execes from books and articles to compile and present the topic of this research. The results show that the principle of eschatology is rooted in belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that it affirms the promise of eternal life and provides comfort and hope over suffering and death. The teachings of death, judgment, and eternal life are the basis of hope as well as comfort for the people in facing the various crises of life. In addition, eschatology is also relevant in today's life because it encourages people to live in love, justice, and moral responsibility as a manifestation of faith.  

Hope is one of the theological virtues strongly emphasized by Pope Francis, especially in the context of a world marked by suffering, crisis, and uncertainty. This article aims to present the Christian theological understanding of hope according to Pope Francis and to explore its relevance for the Church as it prepares for the Jubilee Year 2025. This study employs a documentary and textual theological analysis of Pope Francis’ catecheses, Sacred Scripture, official Church teachings, and the Jubilee documents. The findings show that Christian hope is rooted in the experience of God who accompanies, liberates, and consoles His people, and is grounded in the Paschal Mystery and the resurrection of Christ. Pope Francis deepens this vision through the figures of Sacred Scripture and through existential dynamics such as learning to hope, resisting despair, and remaining vigilant. Hope is both personal and ecclesial, as the Church is called to be a missionary of hope for the world. These insights highlight the importance of ongoing formation in the faith and concrete works of mercy as expressions of hope, especially as the Church enters the Jubilee Year 2025 as Pilgrims of Hope.

In the context of modernity, characterized by secularization and existential anxiety, traditional models of Christian faith formation often appear disconnected from the lived reality of believers, particularly regarding the doctrines of salvation and eschatology. This study investigates the crucial role of the church in bridging this gap by developing a pedagogical approach that integrally links ecclesial education with eschatological hope. Employing a qualitative descriptive analysis method, this research examines theological literature, contemporary church documents, and case studies of Christian formation programs. The analysis reveals that a robust eschatological perspective oriented towards the hope of salvation, resurrection, and the renewal of all things is not merely a final chapter of doctrine but an essential, transformative framework for all faith education. It shapes Christian identity, ethics, and mission in the present. The study concludes that for faith formation to be salvific and relevant today, the church must intentionally reconfigure its educational praxis. This reconfiguration involves moving from a compartmentalized teaching of "last things" to fostering an eschatological imagination that informs discipleship, worship, and social engagement, thereby presenting salvation as a comprehensive hope actively shaping Christian life in the modern world.

Throughout the year 2025, the Catholic Church is undergoing an Ordinary Jubilee Year. This Jubilee Year was opened on December 24, 2024, and will be closed on January 6, 2026. This Jubilee Year is the first ordinary jubilee in the third millennium. The mystery of faith that is contemplated in it is the mystery of the incarnation of the Word becoming Man in the person of Jesus Christ. Realizing the importance of the mystery of faith that is contemplated in this Jubilee Year, by using library research, the author collects and reads various writings about jubilees, especially the Ordinary Jubilee 2025. In this writing, we will look at the concept of jubilee, both in the scriptures and as intended by the Catholic Church. This writing also briefly describes the theme contemplated in the Jubilee Year 2025, as well as what needs to be done to fill this jubilee year.

This study aims to explore the Role of Pastoral Counseling in the Independence of Children with Special Needs at Rumah Pengharapan Baru (RPB) West Bandung. Qualitative methods were used to collect data through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, involving pastoral counselors, Rumah Pengharapan Baru staff, and children with special needs. The results of the study indicate that pastoral counseling plays a significant role in increasing the independence of children with special needs, covering emotional, spiritual, and social aspects that support the development of independent living skills. Pastoral counselors function as companions and facilitators who help children understand and accept their condition, build self-confidence, and motivate them to achieve their maximum potential. A holistic and personal counseling approach and ongoing support from the Rumah Pengharapan Baru environment are effective in strengthening the independence of these children. This study concludes that children with special needs need intensive assistance and holistic care. Pastoral counseling plays an important role in providing emotional and spiritual support, helping them overcome anxiety and low self-esteem. Professional counselors who are caring and compassionate are the foundation of this ministry, ensuring that the emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of children are met in a balanced manner.

important. Based on James 1:2-3, this paper explores Christian expectations and the role of perseverance in shaping spiritual character. The background of this study arises from the importance of understanding perseverance as a response to trials faced by individuals of faith. The purpose of this study is to investigate how perseverance in faith is formed and developed through challenges, as well as its impact on Christian hope. This research used a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data was collected from library sources, including books of biblical interpretation and relevant theological articles. The results showed that perseverance is not just a passive attitude but an active process that deepens faith and hope. The discussion focused on the role of trials as a tool used by God to strengthen the faith of believers, as described in James 1:2-3. Trials are seen as a way to sharpen perseverance, which then leads to spiritual maturity and strong hope. This study affirms the importance of seeing trials as an essential part of the Christian faith journey that ends in eternal hope.

Eschatological teaching in Christian theology will of course often intersect with the hope of Christ’s return. As written in the Book of Acts and other books in teh New Testament as Well as the entire Holy Bible. The return of Jesus Christ will not be an ordinary presensce. Just like His first coming in the incarnation of Jesus Christ. He came to the world to fulfill Gd’s promise in His work to save humans from sin. Likewise, the return of Christ will certainly present a very great work. Jesus Christ will come again no longer as a helper for sinners but as judge of the world. Therefore, it is not surprising why eschatological teachings are teachings that have significance in the Christian faith and also for axisting religions. So taht it gives meaning and hope for all sinful humans to immediately prepare themselves to welcome the return of Christ as judge of the world. However, the problem for everyone today is that no one knows when the day of Christ’s return will come. In fact, several verses in the Holy Bible say taht Jesus himself did not know, only the Father knew. This is a very serious problem in Christian theology. That is why all the time there have been theologians, clergy, academics, and so on trying to find answers to these problems. Likewise, this article will discuss this issue using a Systematic Theology approach. In the Research Methods section, we will explain in detail what is meant by research methods and methodologically what research method approach will be used. In This case, the discussion regarding the Parousia from a theological perspective will be researched using qualitative research. The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is one of the profound topics in Christian theology. This article aims to explore the concept of hope in the return of Jesus Christ within the context of Christian theology and beliefs. The introduction provides a conceptual foundation on the meaning and relevance of the hope for the return of Christ for Christian believers. The methods used include the analysis of biblical texts, theological literature review, and related conceptual review. The results depict various theological perspectives on the Second Coming of Christ and its implications in everyday Christian life. A thorough discussion of eschatological theology and the perceptions of Christians regarding the return of Christ is the main focus of this article. The conclusion affirms the importance of understanding and responding to the hope for the return of Jesus Christ in spiritual life and Christian practice. This article contributes to a deeper understanding of essential aspects of the Christian faith and invites reflection on the significant meaning of hope for the return of Christ in a contemporary context. The bibliography presents key references supporting this research and theological analysis.

Kepercayaan adalah suatu rasa yang timbul dalam hubungan sosial didalam kelompok masyarakat karena adanya pengharapan berdasarkan suatu hal yang disaksikan sosial dan disepakati sebagai nilai luhur atau kebaikan. Sehingga dianggap sebagai sebuah perilaku yang normal. Kepercayaan yang dimaksud pada penelitian ini adalah Ritual Pawang Dalam Permainan Sepak Bola Di Pulau Pecong Kecamatan Belakang Padang Kota Batam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Ritual Pawang Dalam Permainan Sepak Bola Di Pulau Pecong Kecamatan Belakang Padang Kota Batam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu melalui observasi, wawancara terstruktur dan dokumentasi. Dalam menentukan informan menggunakan Teknik purposive sampling menentukan kriteria informan. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teori Kepercayaan dari Francis Fukuyama. Berdasarkan hasil peneliti disimpulkan bahwa masyarakat di Pulau Pecong Kecamatan Belakang Padang Kota Batam masih mempercayai adanya ritual pawang pada permainan sepak bola. Karena Permainan ini masih menggunakan peran ritual pawang sebagai orang yang berperan untuk melindungi tim mereka dari hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan, kepercayaan terhadap seorang pawang ialah sebuah kebiasaan yang diwarisi oleh masyarakat pulau Pecong, dalam hal ini mempercayai seorang pawang tergantung atas kepentingan anggota dari kelompok didalam masyarakat.

Dalam pemurnian tersebut, seorang harus mengabaikan segala macam bentuk, gambar, dan fantasi supaya ia semakin bersatu dengan Allah. Pada akhirnya, hidup dalam pengharapan sebagai anak-anak Allah ialah suatu hidup dalam pengenalan rohani yang melampaui segala pengertian.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memahami peran dan tugas Dewan Pastoral Paroki dalam reksa pastoral Gereja dan pelayanan dalam Gereja Katolik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi pustaka, observasi,  dokumentasi dan wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui teknik analisa data. Langkah-langkah penelitian meliputi, percakapan dengan informan, profil informan, penentuan tema, refleksi, implikasi, sintesis, prospek atau kemungkinan yang akan terjadi. Sehingga paroki dapat tumbuh dan berkembang, dengan harapan dapat membantu umat agar semakin aktif, terutama umat yang berada di stasi-stasi yang membutuhkan pelayanan dan kunjungan agar iman dan pengharapan mereka semakin bertumbuh dan berkembang untuk memperoleh suatu keselamatan yang kekal, sehingga dapat lebih memahami makna yang terkandung dalam ajaran Gereja Katolik. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah Dewan pastoral paroki khususnya di paroki Santo Petrus dan Paulus Ampah sungguh sangat berperan dan dewan pastoral paroki benar-benar dibutuhkan di paroki terutama dalam reksa pastoral Gereja dan untuk membantu pastor paroki dalam tugas dan pelayanannya untuk melayani umat di paroki. Anggota DPP perlu mendapatkan pembekalan juga pengetahuan yang memadai, terutama dalam tugas dan tanggung jawab yang diemban sebagai anggota DPP, sehingga anggota DPP dapat menjalankan tugas dan perannya masing-masing dan bisa bertanggung jawab  atas tugas mereka terutama untuk membantu melayani umat dan juga paroki. Semua pihak diharapkan dapat mendukung DPP dalam menjalankan tugas dan pelayanannya terutama perannya dalam reksa pastoral Gereja di paroki Santo Petrus dan Paulus Ampah demi kemajuan dan perkembangan paroki. Selain itu Anggota DPP diharapkan dapat bekerja sama baik itu dengan umat dan juga pastor Paroki, agar semua kegiatan dapat berjalan sesuai dengan apa yang diharapkan.
