This study aims to examine the level of regional financial independence and various financial ratios in assessing the performance of regency and city governments in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) for the 2019–2024 period. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach supported by quantitative data in the form of Budget Realization Reports (LRA). Performance measurement was conducted through several key indicators, including independence, effectiveness, efficiency, and growth ratios. The results indicate that the level of fiscal independence remains relatively low, characterized by a high dependency on transfer funds from the central government. On the other hand, the effectiveness ratio shows good achievement, as most regions were able to meet their revenue targets, particularly from Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD). However, the efficiency of expenditure management remains uneven across regions. Furthermore, the revenue growth ratio shows fluctuations influenced by economic conditions, including the impact of the pandemic. Overall, regional financial performance still needs to be improved, especially in strengthening fiscal independence and optimizing PAD potential.

This research evaluates the effectiveness of human capital development policies in Indonesia within the education and health sectors during the periods of 2015–2019 and 2020–2024. The analysis focuses on strategic programs implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Health by comparing planned targets with the realization of performance indicators as stated in the Strategic Plan (Renstra) documents. The study employs a qualitative evaluative approach supported by descriptive quantitative data derived from official planning and performance reports. The findings indicate that during the 2015–2019 period, programs emphasizing the expansion of basic education and health services were relatively effective in increasing participation rates and improving equitable access. In contrast, programs aimed at enhancing the quality of human resources, particularly teacher development and institutional capacity building, showed lower levels of effectiveness due to weak performance measurement systems and inconsistent data reporting. During the 2020–2024 period, the effectiveness of most education and health programs declined significantly as a result of external shocks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, health programs with strong financial protection mechanisms, such as the National Health Insurance (JKN), demonstrated greater resilience compared to other programs. The study concludes that the effectiveness of human capital development policies is strongly influenced by the clarity of performance indicators, consistency in program implementation, institutional capacity, and the ability of policies to adapt to external disruptions.

This study examines the impact of financial performance indicators—activity, solvency, and liquidity ratios—on profit growth in pulp and paper manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange from 2019 to 2024. The research focuses on how variations in Total Assets Turnover, Inventory Turnover, Fixed Assets Turnover, Debt to Equity Ratio, and Quick Ratio affect profitability, especially during periods of economic instability like the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is to identify which financial ratios have the most significant influence on profit performance. A quantitative research method was employed, utilizing secondary data from 42 observations of seven manufacturing firms, selected through purposive sampling. Multiple linear regression analysis, supported by SPSS software, was used to test the hypotheses. The findings show that all five ratios collectively have a significant impact on profit variations, with an F-statistic of 2.568 and a significance value of 0.044. However, when tested individually, only Total Assets Turnover and Inventory Turnover showed significant effects, while Fixed Assets Turnover, Debt to Equity Ratio, and Quick Ratio did not. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.263, indicating that 26.3% of the variation in profit can be explained by the analyzed variables.

The phenomenon of burnout has evolved into a significant occupational health problem with a prevalence reaching 82% across various global work sectors, especially post-COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to identify and analyze the causal factors of burnout through a systematic literature review approach using PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Literature search was conducted on four main electronic databases yielding 309 articles which were then selected down to 10 high-quality articles meeting inclusion criteria for the 2021-2025 publication period. Synthesis results indicate that burnout is a multidimensional phenomenon influenced by complex interactions between organizational and individual factors. Dominant organizational factors include work overload, lack of managerial support, unsafe working conditions, and resource inadequacy with burnout prevalence ranging from 17-94%. Individual factors encompass demographic characteristics, coping strategies, resilience, and internal psychological conflicts that serve as moderator variables. Job satisfaction and work meaningfulness function as mediator variables connecting organizational conditions with burnout outcomes. These findings provide theoretical contributions in understanding burnout etiology and can practically serve as a foundation for developing evidence-based preventive interventions to reduce burnout prevalence in work environments.

The utilization of Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia has an important role in encouraging digitalization of transactions and improving financial recording and reporting. The background of this study is the need for MSMEs to adapt to the development of digital payment technology, especially in the midst of accelerated digitization triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Although QRIS provides various benefits, such as ease of transactions and automatic recording, there are still a number of obstacles such as limited digital literacy, uneven infrastructure, and concerns related to cybersecurity, especially in remote areas. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach to SMEs that have adopted QRIS in several regions in Indonesia. Data were collected through field observations, and documentation studies related to the use of QRIS in business activities. Data analysis was conducted thematically to explore in-depth understanding of the experiences, challenges, and benefits felt by MSME actors in the use of QRIS. The results showed that QRIS makes it easier for MSMEs to process payments and automatic digital transaction recording, thereby increasing the accuracy and transparency of financial statements. However, limited access to electricity, digital devices, and digital security literacy are significant barriers to optimal implementation of QRIS. The security aspect of digital transactions is an important concern for MSMEs, who need further education and technical support. Thus, strengthening digital literacy, improving infrastructure, and strict cybersecurity regulations are urgently needed to encourage wider and inclusive adoption of QRIS among MSMEs in Indonesia.

This study provides an in-depth analysis of the urgency of employing a contextual approach to the Qur’an and Sunnah as a hermeneutical framework for addressing the increasingly complex social problems in Indonesia. Based on the premise that divine revelation encompasses both textual and contextual dimensions, this research underscores the necessity of reinterpreting Islamic teachings by considering the sociocultural, economic, and intellectual transformations of modern society. Utilizing library research and extensive scholarly literature review, the study examines the contributions of the contextual approach in revitalizing maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, advancing social exegesis, promoting productive zakat models, strengthening child protection policies, developing environmental jurisprudence, and enhancing social ijtihād during crisis situations such as the Covid-19 pandemic. The findings demonstrate that a contextual approach enables Islamic teachings to be articulated into more adaptive, inclusive, and progressive ethical principles without compromising their theological foundations. This approach also reinforces the integration of social sciences into Islamic studies, thereby producing legal formulations and public policies that promote public welfare, social justice, and ecological sustainability. Overall, the study concludes that the contextual approach is not merely a method of interpretation but a civilizational paradigm essential for shaping Islam’s relevance within Indonesia’s multicultural society. By fostering a dialogical encounter between scriptural texts and empirical realities, this approach preserves the vitality of Islamic teachings while ensuring their constructive and sustainable contribution to resolving national issues.

This study investigates the monetary transmission mechanisms influencing inflation and exchange rates across seven Southeast Asian countries (Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) over the period 2010–2023, with special focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research addresses the problem of macroeconomic instability, particularly the volatility in inflation and currency values during crisis periods, and aims to identify the dominant monetary factors affecting these indicators. The study employs a mixed quantitative approach using Structural Vector Autoregression (SVAR), Panel Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL), and Paired Sample t-Test to analyze the short-term and long-term relationships among key variables: Gross Domestic Product (GDP), investment, money supply (M2), interest rates, inflation, and exchange rates. Findings reveal that GDP is the most influential factor impacting both inflation and exchange rates, followed by money supply and interest rates. The variance decomposition analysis confirms that these monetary variables significantly explain macroeconomic fluctuations in both pre- and post-pandemic contexts. The t-Test further indicates statistically significant changes in inflation and exchange rates before and after the pandemic, highlighting the disruptive effect of COVID-19 on economic stability. The results demonstrate that inflation declined significantly in most countries during the pandemic, while exchange rate behavior varied depending on economic resilience and policy responsiveness. The study concludes that maintaining macroeconomic stability requires not only monetary policy coordination but also effective public health crisis management. This research contributes to the regional policy discourse by offering empirical insights and evidence-based recommendations to strengthen economic resilience in Southeast Asia.

Waste management has become a critical issue in efforts to create a clean and sustainable environment, particularly in Klungkung Regency, which has seen a significant increase in waste generation following the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the local government’s initiatives to address this issue is the establishment of waste banks, including the Lestari Waste Bank in Besang Village. This study aims to analyze the influence of community participation, sustainable economic literacy, and environmental policy on the performance of the waste bank. The research was conducted in Besang Village, covering three sub-village areas: Besang Kawan, Besang Tengah, and Besang Kangin, with a total of 182 waste bank customers as respondents. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that community participation significantly contributes to improving the effectiveness of the waste bank program. Furthermore, community understanding of sustainable economic principles influences individual mindsets and waste-sorting behavior. In addition, environmental policies implemented by the local government strengthen the institutional capacity of waste banks to manage waste systematically and sustainably. Therefore, the collaboration between community involvement, economic understanding, and policy support is key to the success of waste banks as a community-based waste management solution.

This study is motivated by the crucial role of government spending and domestic investment (PMDN) in driving economic growth, particularly in Bali Province, which is heavily reliant on the tourism sector and vulnerable to external shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of this research is to analyze the influence of government expenditure in the general services and infrastructure sectors, as well as domestic investment, on Bali’s economic growth during the 2014–2023 period, both simultaneously and partially. This study employs panel data combining cross-sectional and time-series data from 9 regencies/cities in Bali Province over a 10-year period (2014–2023), using a Random Effect Model (REM) approach after conducting the Chow test, Hausman test, and Lagrange Multiplier test. The results show that, simultaneously, all independent variables significantly influence economic growth. Partially, government spending in general services, infrastructure, health, and education sectors has a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, expenditure in economic services, domestic investment (PMDN), and the COVID-19 variable have a positive but statistically insignificant effect on economic growth in Bali Province. It is recommended that local governments improve the effectiveness of economic sector spending, promote equitable distribution of domestic investment, and accelerate economic diversification to reduce dependency on tourism and strengthen regional economic resilience.

Beauty products have become a promising business, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. Various brands have achieved high sales figures, one of which is Skintific products. This study aims to analyze the role of micro-influencers in increasing brand awareness of Skintific products. The study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. Research data was obtained from literature reviews, digital observations, and official publications related to the topic. The results of the study indicate that micro-influencers play a significant role in increasing brand awareness for Skintific products. With a higher engagement rate compared to macro-influencers, micro-influencers are able to build closer and more authentic relationships with their audience, making their recommendations more trustworthy than conventional advertisements. Despite having a smaller number of followers, micro-influencers demonstrate greater effectiveness in creating engaging content such as product reviews, tutorials, and unboxing videos, which increase consumer interest and trust in the product. Research data shows that micro-influencers' engagement rate (5.07%) is higher than that of macro-influencers (3.25%), despite their more limited reach. The success of this marketing strategy is also supported by the use of social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, which enable the distribution of interactive visual content and expand brand awareness organically. With increased audience engagement, Skintific has not only succeeded in strengthening brand awareness but also in building product credibility, which ultimately contributes to increased consumer interest and purchasing decisions.

The number of layoffs during Covid-19 due to the presence of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy not only has an impact on the health sector, but also has a wide impact on social and economic coverage, especially in the formal and informal employment sector. One of the main problems that arises is the increasing cases of Termination of Employment (PHK) which causes economic uncertainty for workers and their families. The researcher is encouraged to conduct an in-depth analysis of this condition after the enactment of the Job Creation Law, especially in the perspective of fulfilling the rights of workers affected by the pandemic. This study uses a normative legal research method with a legal legal approach, focusing on the employment aspect. Data was obtained through literature studies which included primary sources in the form of laws and regulations, as well as secondary sources in the form of literature, journals, scientific articles, and relevant court decisions. The results of the study show that there are still differences in implementation in fulfilling the rights of workers who have been laid off during the pandemic. Based on the decisions analyzed, it was found that there are still cases where workers do not get their rights in full, either related to severance pay, service award money, or other compensation money that should be guaranteed by law. These findings indicate that the role of judges in deciding layoff cases is very important to ensure maximum justice and protection for workers. Therefore, the author recommends that judges in deciding cases related to layoffs be guided by the principles of labor law, the principles of social justice, and applicable laws and regulations.

This study aims to examine the effect of liquidity, profitability, and solvability ratios on investment decisions while also investigating the moderating role of firm size in this relationship. The research focuses on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2019-2023, which are marked by significant economic disruptions, including the COVID-19 pandemic. A quantitative approach was employed, using panel data regression to test the proposed hypotheses. Financial ratios were measured using the current ratio, return on assets, and debt-to-equity ratio, while investment decisions were assessed using the price-earnings ratio. The natural logarithm of total assets measured firm size. The results reveal that liquidity and solvability significantly influence investment decisions, while profitability does not. Firm size was found to moderate the relationship between liquidity and solvability with investment decisions, but not the relationship involving profitability. These findings have practical implications for investors and corporate managers in formulating investment strategies and managing financial performance, highlighting the importance of considering firm size when evaluating the effectiveness of economic indicators. This research also contributes to the empirical literature on investment decision-making in the manufacturing sector.
