The problem of household waste in Kalanganyar Village, Sedati District, Sidoarjo Regency, is increasing along with population growth, while residents' knowledge about waste sorting is still minimal and processing facilities are limited. This community service program aims to increase awareness and cleanliving behavior through education and mentoring on household waste processing based on the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). This activity adopts an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach that focuses on mapping and utilizing local potential, such as health cadres, youth organizations, the spirit of mutual cooperation, and the availability of potential land. The implementation methods include appreciative inquiry, focus group discussions (FGDs), in-depth interviews with the Head of the Sopo Nyongko TPS and community leaders, participatory observation, and practical mentoring for housewives, youth organizations, and TPS managers on February 9. The results of the activity showed an increase in residents' understanding of PHBS and waste management, indicated by the enthusiasm of participants during the educational session. The program also successfully activated local agents of change: youth groups began implementing inorganic waste recycling, and health cadres designed a home-based waste sorting system.

Population growth and changing consumption patterns have led to a continuous increase in waste generation, with household organic waste being the dominant component in Bantul Regency. Low levels of public knowledge and awareness regarding waste management are also contributing factors. One environmentally friendly alternative for organic waste management is the use of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, which have high bioconversion capabilities. This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge of housewives in managing household organic waste using BSF maggots. The activity was carried out in RT 01, Mojosari Hamlet, Baturetno Village, Banguntapan District, Bantul Regency, involving 20 participants. The implementation method included a site survey, material delivery, an introduction to the life cycle and benefits of BSF maggots, an explanation of waste sorting, maggot feeding, and post-activity observations. However, limitations in maggot maintenance techniques persisted, requiring ongoing mentoring. This activity contributes to reducing waste generation at its source and supports sustainable household waste management based on community participation.

This study aims to improve the welfare of curly red chili farmers in Tanjung Seteko Village through the innovation of processing fresh chili into chili oil. The background of this research lies in the low added value of fresh chili and frequent price fluctuations that cause unstable farmer incomes. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages, with purposive sampling covering farmers, farmer group members, housewives, and village officials. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results indicate that processing chili into chili oil can extend shelf life up to 1–2 months at room temperature and more than 6 months under refrigeration, reduce harvest losses by 30–40%, and significantly increase economic value compared to selling fresh chili. A single production process using 5 kg of curly red chili yields 16 liters of chili oil with an estimated selling price of IDR 1.500.000-2.000.000 per production cycle, showing that simple processing activities can provide substantial added value for farmers. Beyond economic benefits, this innovation strengthens community empowerment by improving processing skills, encouraging economic independence, promoting participation in value-added businesses, and reinforcing local economic resilience. The social impacts also include youth and women empowerment and broader opportunities for local product–based entrepreneurship. The study recommends continuous capacity development, digital marketing strategies, and ongoing mentoring to optimize farmer welfare. Therefore, processing curly red chili into chili oil is a strategic solution to enhance income, skills, and sustainable rural economic development.

This study focuses on improving digital literacy and formal Indonesian language proficiency among the Indonesian diaspora community in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The community faces challenges in adapting to digital technology and maintaining linguistic and cultural identity, which limits their socio-economic participation and engagement in community activities. The objective of this research is to develop and implement a community-based program that enhances digital skills while promoting national language usage and cultural preservation. The program employed a participatory and interactive approach, including workshops, hands-on practice, mentoring, role-play, and storytelling, targeting 30 participants comprising youth, MSME actors, teachers, village officials, and housewives. Pre-test and post-test evaluations, direct observation, and interviews were used to assess the impact of the program. The results show significant improvements in digital literacy, with participants demonstrating enhanced skills in e-mail usage, document sharing, e-wallet applications, and digital security awareness, with post-test gains ranging from 40% to 45%. Likewise, proficiency in formal Indonesian language, public speaking, and cultural knowledge increased by 25% to 28%, reflecting both technical and cultural skill development. The findings indicate that community-based, participatory learning integrated with cultural reinforcement effectively bridges the digital divide and strengthens linguistic identity among diaspora communities. The study concludes that such a hybrid model not only empowers participants in digital and linguistic capacities but also promotes cultural sustainability and social cohesion, offering a scalable and replicable framework for similar communities.

The method used was a literature study by collecting literature from Google Scholar and Science Direct. The results showed that good knowledge encourages positive attitudes and more effective waste management practices. Education, especially to housewives, is proven to increase awareness and active participation in sorting and processing waste. Successful waste management requires active community involvement, infrastructure support, and ongoing mentoring. In conclusion, the strong relationship between knowledge, attitude and practice shows the importance of an integrated approach to household waste management based on the 3R principles to create a clean, healthy and sustainable environment. The contribution of this research to science is through the review of various field studies from a number of regions in Indonesia, and emphasizes the urgency of community-based education, especially for strategic groups such as housewives. Entrepreneurship training entitled "Social Innovation in Community Empowerment: Creating New Entrepreneurs Sewing Hajatan Bags and Dasters from Used Sarong Fabric in Kayen Village, Bandarkedungmulyo District" aims to improve technical skills, understanding of social entrepreneurship, and digital marketing strategies for non-productive housewives. This program was implemented on October 27-30, 2024 at the Kayen Village Hall and was attended by 20 participants. The implementation of the activity included a pre-test stage to measure initial abilities, technical training in sewing hajatan bags and dasters, and a post-test to evaluate the results of the training. The post-test results showed an average increase of 65% in sewing skills, understanding of the concept of social entrepreneurship, and product marketing skills. During the training, several obstacles were identified, including limited tools and supporting materials, disparities in the initial skill levels of participants, and the lack of confidence of some participants in utilizing digital platforms for marketing. These obstacles were successfully overcome through intensive mentoring by a team of trainers who provided practical direction and motivation during the activity. As a concrete result, four business groups were formed, namely the Bodeh Group, the Amanah Kreatif Group, the Maju Jaya Sewing House, and the Mak Kreatif Group, which utilize digital platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, and Shopee to support the marketing of their products. This program not only increases the capacity of individual participants but also creates a sustainable community-based entrepreneurial ecosystem. The results of the training show that the social innovation approach can be an effective solution to significantly empower the economy of rural communities. With proper implementation, this model has the potential to be replicated in other areas to overcome similar problems.
