JURNAL EKONOMI MANAJEMEN AKUNTANSI 2024 sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Dharma Putra Semarang

This study examines the impact of CEO education on Corporate Social Responsibility disclosure in Indonesian banks, with a focus on the role of CEO characteristics in shaping corporate social practices. Using data from banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the study explores the relationship between CEO education level, CEO background in finance, and CSR disclosure, applying the Upper Echelons Theory (UET) to explain how CEO characteristics influence corporate decision-making. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between CEO education level and CSR disclosure, suggesting that CEOs with higher education are more likely to lead firms that disclose comprehensive CSR information. Conversely, CEOs with a finance background were found to have a negative impact on CSR disclosure, indicating a preference for financial performance over social responsibility. Additionally, company size was found to significantly influence CSR disclosure, with larger companies more likely to engage in CSR reporting. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on CSR disclosure by highlighting the role of CEO education in shaping corporate transparency, particularly in the banking sector. The findings also underscore the need for a balanced perspective in leadership, where a broader commitment to social responsibility and sustainability complements financial expertise.

Floods are disasters that often occur in Indonesia. Disasters caused by hydrometeorological factors always increase every year. Even though sometimes it doesn't cause many casualties, this disaster still damages infrastructure and significantly disrupts the economic stability of the community. The characteristics of floods are very diverse, floods can be caused by high rainfall without adequate soil absorption or can occur in the form of flash irrigation failures. South Kalimantan is a city known as the "City of a Thousand Rivers", which of course cannot be separated from flooding situations every rainy season. One of them is quite common in urban areas, especially the city of Banjarbaru. The dense population and the presence of rivers sometimes cause flooding, especially if the intensity of rainfall lasts long enough. Likewise, what often happens in the Kemuning Banjarbaru sub-district, floods that often come suddenly have become a normal activity for local residents. Without hesitation, there were even (9) RTs that were affected by the flash flood. Even though they are used to facing floods, especially when the rainy season arrives, residents are still advised to always be alert.

Background: Audit delay represents a critical factor affecting the timeliness of financial reporting and information usefulness for decision-making. The property and real estate sector faces unique challenges in audit processes due to complex asset valuations, project accounting, and regulatory requirements, making audit delay a significant concern for stakeholders. Objective: This study aims to examine the effect of firm size, leverage, and audit quality on audit delay in property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Methods: This quantitative study employed multiple regression analysis using a sample of 65 property and real estate companies listed on IDX during 2020-2024, resulting in 325 firm-year observations. Audit delay was measured as the number of days between fiscal year-end and audit report date. Independent variables included firm size (natural logarithm of total assets), leverage (debt-to-equity ratio), and audit quality (Big 4 auditor dummy). Control variables encompassed profitability, company age, and audit opinion type. Results: The findings reveal that firm size has a significant negative effect on audit delay (β = -8.743, p < 0.01), indicating that larger companies experience shorter audit delays. Leverage shows a significant positive effect on audit delay (β = 4.562, p < 0.05), suggesting that higher leverage increases audit complexity and duration. Audit quality demonstrates a significant negative effect on audit delay (β = -12.385, p < 0.01), confirming that Big 4 auditors complete audits more efficiently. The model explains 68.4% of the variance in audit delay (R² = 0.684). Conclusion: Firm characteristics and audit quality significantly influence audit delay in the property and real estate sector. Companies should focus on maintaining optimal capital structure, engaging high-quality auditors, and leveraging size advantages to minimize audit delay and enhance financial reporting timeliness.

The increasing ease of internet access has led to its misuse in the form of online gambling. Initially, online games served as the entry point, but curiosity and interest have driven teenagers to participate in online gambling. Kartono (2014) defines gambling as the intentional act of risking something valuable with awareness of the associated risks and specific expectations for uncertain events, such as games, matches, races, and other occurrences. The uncertainty of outcomes generates expectations and tension for gamblers. nawati, Prakoso, and Prihatmi (2015) assert that the development of information and communication technology significantly influences the gambling model and its payment methods. Unlike traditional gambling, which requires face-to-face interactions, physical means, and cash payments, online gambling leverages the internet, enabling games without physical encounters. The rapid evolution of online gambling in recent decades has facilitated easy access to various forms of gambling through the internet. Despite gambling's historical existence, online gambling possesses distinct characteristics that entail specific risks. This journal aims to identify and explore the diverse negative impacts associated with online gambling, while also delving into control measures that can be implemented to address these issues. Employing the qualitative descriptive phenomenology research method, our study will uncover shared meanings of the online gambling phenomenon as experienced by a group of students (Sahputra et al., 2022). The methodology employed here is the literature review method, wherein an independent activity is conducted to collect literature data, engage in reading and note-taking, and process research materials from various sources, such as books, online media, print media, and national and international journals. Online gambling has emerged as a concerning phenomenon globally. This journal examines various aspects related to the hazards of online gambling, encompassing social, economic, and health impacts. Additionally, we discuss control efforts that can be implemented to address these issues, with the ultimate goal of enhancing understanding and promoting more effective actions in addressing this problem. Online gambling presents numerous dangers that can adversely affect individuals and society at large. To tackle this issue, control efforts, including stringent regulations, public education, and rehabilitation programs, are imperative. A comprehensive understanding of the perils of online gambling will enable collaborative efforts to create a safer and healthier environment for everyone. Concrete actions are necessary to shield society from the detrimental impacts of online gambling.
