Somongari Tourism Village in Indonesia's Purworejo Regency is the site of this research on the ways in which community-based creative economy development could promote ecotourism. As a destination rich in natural, cultural, and historical assets, Somongari demonstrates significant potential to integrate creative industries into tourism practices. Examining community involvement, entrepreneurship, and government, this study used a qualitative descriptive technique to gather data via observation, recording, and interviews.Findings reveal that creative economy initiatives—such as culinary innovation, agro-tourism, cultural storytelling, and digital promotion—strengthen destination attractiveness while generating income for residents. Innovation, inclusion, and intergenerational colaboration are greatly enhanced when women and youths are involved. Community ownership and fair distribution of benefits are reinforced via participatory governance and collective management. Limited product diversi-fication, reliance on seasonal tourism, and limitations in management competence are some of the difficulties that continue to exist. The study concludes that community-based creative economy development provides a strategic pathway for sustainable tourism by integrating economic empowerment, cultural preservation, and social participation. Strengthening entrepreneurship, enhancing digital marketing, diversifying tourism products, and fostering stakeholder collaboration are essential to improving competitiveness and resilience. This study contribute to the discourse on sustainable rural tourism by demonstrating how creative economy initiatives can serve as instruments of empowerment and sustainable destination development.

Evolving tourism trends indicate a transition among tourists from merely visual recreation (hedonic) toward transformative travel (eudaimonic), which is oriented toward self-reflection and the search for meaning in life. Museum Topeng Cirebon holds significant potential for transformative tourism due to its mask collection that is rich in life philosophies. The urgency of this research is to analyze these transformative tourism experiences to support the quality of tourists' intellectual experiences and the sustainability of local culture. This qualitative research employed thematic analysis with purposive sampling techniques, involving 70 respondents who completed a Google Form questionnaire, which was further supported by interviews and a literature review. The results from the pre-visit phase showed that initial motivations were dominated by hedonic tourism at 37.1%. During the visit, a transformation occurred; tour guides acted as human catalysts in building narrative engagement (62.9%), and the chronological, philosophical flow of the masks sparked an awakening of consciousness for 80% of respondents. In the post-visit phase, eudaimonic impacts were experienced by 91.4% of respondents, including an expanded worldview (37.1%) and a commitment to becoming agents of cultural change (27.1%). However, operational challenges remain, including inconsistent opening hours and a lack of digital self-information facilities.

Ciberi Beach is a tourist area in Enggros Village, Abepura District, Jayapura City, with significant development potential that draws on its natural resources and local wisdom. This study aims to identify internal and external factors influencing the development of the tourism area and to formulate appropriate development strategies using SWOT analysis. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques, with data collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires distributed to 25 visitors. The findings show that the main strengths are unspoiled natural scenery and community friendliness, while the main weaknesses include inadequate public facilities and poor road access. Key opportunities include ecotourism potential and policy support for spatial planning, while threats include coastal abrasion and unmanaged waste. Based on the SWOT matrix, the strategic position falls in Quadrant I (X = 0.31; Y = 0.51), supporting an aggressive SO strategy. Priority strategies include community-based ecotourism development, digital promotion, collaborative partnerships with universities and NGOs, and regulatory strengthening for sustainable land use. The analysis is grounded in a three-framework theoretical lens comprising the 3A tourism components (Attraction, Accessibility, Amenity), ecotourism principles, and community-based tourism, which together guide the interpretation of SWOT findings and the formulation of strategy.

This study examines the role of the creative economy in enhancing sustainable tourism potential in Pampang Cultural Village, Samarinda, Indonesia, and identifies strategic priorities for its development. Pampang Cultural Village is recognized for its rich cultural heritage preserved by the Dayak Kenyah community, which serves as a valuable tourism asset. Despite this potential, the contribution of creative economy activities to tourism development has not been fully optimized. Therefore, a comprehensive analysis is needed to formulate effective development strategies. This research employs a mixed qualitative–quantitative approach using the SWOT-AHP method. SWOT analysis is utilized to identify internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats affecting creative economy development. Subsequently, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to determine the priority level of each strategic factor and alternative strategy. The findings indicate that the village possesses significant creative economy potential in cultural performances, handicrafts, culinary products, traditional fashion, and cultural souvenirs. Cultural authenticity emerges as the primary strength, while limited innovation capacity and digital marketing skills remain the major weaknesses. The results further reveal that the highest-priority strategy is the development of innovative creative tourism products rooted in Dayak Kenyah cultural heritage while preserving cultural authenticity. This strategy should be supported by digital promotion, human resource capacity building, stakeholder collaboration, and improvements in tourism infrastructure to achieve sustainable tourism development.

Nature tourism is one of the sectors that plays an important role in supporting the development of regional tourism, including in Lahat Regency, which has significant waterfall tourism potential. Currently, many visitors share their reviews and experiences through digital platforms such as Google Maps. This review can be used as a source of information to understand the public's evaluation of the quality of tourist attractions. This study aims to examine public perception of tourist attractions in Lahat Regency using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method. Research data were collected through scraping from Google Maps, totaling 500 reviews from five tourist attractions, namely Curup Maung, Curup Buluh, Senyawe Waterfall, Panjang Waterfall, and Green Canyon. The research stages include data preprocessing, consisting of cleaning, case folding, normalization, tokenization, stopword removal, and stemming. After that, feature extraction was carried out using the TF-IDF method and the classification process using the SVM algorithm. Based on the research results, the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method is able to perform sentiment classification quite well, although the accuracy level varies for each tourist attraction. Curup Maung and Panjang Waterfall achieved the highest accuracy level of 90%. Nevertheless, most visitor reviews were dominated by negative sentiments. This indicates that there are still several aspects that need to be improved, particularly related to tourist facilities and services. This research is expected to serve as a consideration for tourism managers and local governments in efforts to improve management quality as well as the development of tourism in Lahat Regency.

The development of halal tourism has encouraged sharia hotels to provide services that are not only comfortable and functional, but also consistent with Islamic values and halal assurance. This study aims to analyze the integration strategy between sharia hotels and halal restaurants in increasing guest visits and satisfaction at Mangkuto Sharia Hotel Payakumbuh. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving hotel management, operational employees, guests, sharia certification experts, and representatives of the local government. The data were analyzed descriptively and strengthened through strategic analysis using the Resource-Based View (RBV), Value Chain, SWOT analysis, IFAS-EFAS matrix, TOWS matrix, and Blue Ocean Strategy. The findings reveal that service integration was implemented through sharia-based operational policies, halal assurance systems in restaurant activities, and cross-departmental coordination between the front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage departments. This integration created added value in the form of physical comfort, emotional trust, and spiritual peace for guests. Internal hotel data also indicated an increase in occupancy rates from 26% in 2020 to 52% in 2024 following the implementation of the sharia concept and halal restaurant integration. Strategic analysis positioned the hotel in Quadrant I (aggressive growth strategy), supported by its halal reputation, Islamic organizational culture, guest trust, and its uniqueness as the first sharia hotel in West Sumatra certified by the National Sharia Council–Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI). The implication of this study shows that the integration of sharia hospitality can serve as a competitive product strategy rather than merely a compliance instrument, while also supporting the development of regional halal tourism.

This research investigates the integration of the creative economy as a catalyst for sustainable tourism development within Kutai National Park (KNP), East Kalimantan. Despite its ecological significance as a lowland rainforest and Orangutan habitat, KNP faces stagnation due to a reliance on extractive resources and a lack of diversified tourism products. Employing a qualitative descriptive methodology and SWOT analysis, this study maps the creative potential of the region and evaluates its impact across four sustainability pillars: economic, social, environmental, and institutional. Data were gathered through field observations and in-depth interviews with park authorities, local government officials, and creative entrepreneurs in the buffer zones of Sangatta and Bontang. The findings reveal significant potential in non-timber forest-based culinary arts, modernized ethnic crafts, and digital wildlife storytelling. A critical institutional barrier identified is the "sectoral ego" between conservation authorities and local governments. The study proposes a strategic shift toward a "Green Creative Hub" model, emphasizing that sound governance and institutional synchronization are essential for balancing conservation with economic empowerment. This research provides a roadmap for policy-makers to transition from extractive-based livelihoods to a knowledge-based service economy that preserves the integrity of protected landscapes.

The phenomenon of tourist destinations experiencing a decline in popularity after a viral phase (post-viral stagnation) poses significant challenges to the sustainability of urban tourism. This study aims to test a structural model for destination reactivation in Kampung Pelangi, Semarang, focusing on the role of digital transformation in strengthening destination resilience through the mediation of competitive advantage. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 150 respondents and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The results of the hypothesis testing indicate that digital transformation has a positive and significant influence on competitive advantage (β = 0.495; t = 5.820; p < 0.001) and destination resilience (β = 0.312; t = 3.450; p < 0.001). Furthermore, competitive advantage was found to have a strong impact on resilience (β = 0.542; t = 7.115; p < 0.001). A mediation test demonstrated that competitive advantage significantly mediated the relationship between digital transformation and resilience (β = 0.268; t = 4.890; p < 0.001). This model demonstrated a predictive power of 61.2% (R2 = 0.612) for destination resilience. This finding emphasizes that post-pandemic destination reactivation requires the integration of digital capabilities that can restore differentiation and unique value propositions to achieve long-term resilience.

This study examines the role of halal tourism in enhancing destination competitiveness and strengthening the Islamic economy within the tourism sector. This research employs a systematic literature review to synthesize findings from relevant academic sources. The results indicate that halal tourism contributes significantly to destination competitiveness by increasing tourist arrivals and encouraging product diversification. In addition, it supports the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and promotes local economic growth through a multiplier effect. Halal tourism also fosters ethical business practices and sustainable tourism development aligned with Islamic principles. However, its implementation faces key challenges, including limited infrastructure, complex halal certification procedures, and perceptions of exclusivity among non-Muslim tourists. Therefore, strategic efforts are required to improve Muslim-friendly infrastructure, streamline certification processes, strengthen MSME capacity through training and digitalization, and adopt inclusive branding strategies. These measures are expected to enhance the competitiveness, resilience, and sustainability of halal tourism destinations in the global market.

This study aims to develop the sissenrekang.com website as a promotional medium for tourism in Enrekang Regency. The development was carried out using the WordPress CMS with the Research and Development (R&D) research method and the Four-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), starting from the needs analysis stage, design, sketching, to creating a digital mockup. The functional validation results obtained a score of 100%, indicating full system feasibility. Further evaluation through Functional Suitability Analysis, Guttman Scale, and System Usability Scale (SUS) resulted in a score of 81.375, indicating a high level of feasibility and comfort of use. This website is expected to provide benefits for managers, facilitate access to information for users, and contribute to supporting the promotion and development of tourism in Enrekang Regency.

This study aims to examine the role of youth organizations (Karang Taruna) in the development of the Grujakan Tluvalley tourist attraction in Barong Kulon Hamlet, Candi Village, Pacitan Regency, with a focus on their involvement in the management and development of community-based tourism (CBT). The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, where data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving youth members, tourism managers, and the local community. The findings indicate that youth play an important role in operational management, digital promotion, and community-based tourism activities, supported by strong values of mutual cooperation and natural resource potential. However, several challenges remain, including limited funding, lack of training opportunities, and inadequate infrastructure. These findings highlight that youth act not only as implementers but also as key drivers and innovators, emphasizing the need for capacity building through continuous training and institutional support. Theoretically, this study enriches the discourse on youth participation in tourism, while practically providing recommendations for village governments and stakeholders.

This study examines the tourism development strategy to increase Local Original Revenue (PAD) in Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi. Despite having significant tourism potential, such as Bira Beach and the Pinisi shipbuilding tradition, the contribution of the tourism sector to PAD remains fluctuating and has not been fully optimized. Therefore, this study aims to formulate an effective and targeted tourism development strategy. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach using observation, Likert-scale questionnaires, and documentation, with data analyzed through SWOT analysis, IFAS-EFAS matrices, and the Grand Strategy Matrix. The findings indicate that the tourism sector has strong internal strengths (5,09) and significant external opportunities (4,99), exceeding its weaknesses (4,56) and threats (3,95), placing it in Quadrant I (aggressive strategy). The results suggest that the most appropriate strategy is the SO (Strengths-Opportunities) strategy, which focuses on optimizing tourism potential, enhancing digital promotion, strengthening cultural-based tourism, and expanding investment in infrastructure. The study concludes that implementing an aggressive and integrated strategy can improve the tourism sector’s contribution to PAD and support regional economic development. These findings highlight the importance of aligning tourism potential with strategic planning to achieve sustainable fiscal growth.

This study aims to design and develop a web-based Eweta Village Tourism Promotion Information System using the Codeigniter Framework to facilitate the dissemination of information on village tourist destinations to the community and tourists. Lokomboro Village has natural and cultural tourism potential that has not been optimally managed, especially in terms of digital promotion. This system was built using the Waterfall software development method, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. This web-based system is equipped with features such as tourist attraction information, photo galleries, tourism activity schedules, and contact details for managers. The CodeIgniter Framework was chosen for its advantages in MVC structure, which facilitates code management, security, and application scalability. Testing results show that the system is capable of displaying promotional information interactively, responsively, and accessible at any time by interested users, making it suitable for use as a tourism promotion medium for Pada Eweta Village.

The development of digital technology affects tourism promotion strategies. Promotion of cultural tourism in remote areas. The Tarung Traditional Village (KA) is one of the trains located in West Sumba district that has cultural heritage and historical value but still cannot be promoted properly due to the lack of digital media. Therefore, the researcher created a website as a medium for promoting cultural tourism destinations for Tangung Train. The system development method applied is the waterfall model with phases of needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. Information collections are carried out through literature studies, observations with traditional and community managers, and direct interviews. The process of developing this system must be able to meet the community's information needs related to the profile of customary areas, customary houses, customary ceremonies, photo galleries and tour guides of the Tarong Train. The result of this research is to get promotional media for the Tarung Train in the form of an informative site about the potential of the Tarung Train containing train profiles, traditional houses, traditional ceremonies, photo galleries, and tourist guides. As well as promotion in the form of a website that is able to increase access to information from the general public and also introduce cultural image.

This study aims to analyze the contribution and potential of the Lampung Province tourism sector to national economic growth in the 2020-2025 period. Using a quantitative descriptive approach using the Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share methods, this study processes secondary data on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at constant prices from the Central Statistics Agency. The analysis shows that although Lampung's macroeconomic performance is still dominated by the primary sector, the tourism sector, particularly the accommodation and food and beverage subsector, has demonstrated post-pandemic resilience with a significant positive growth trend. In 2024, the GRDP value of this subsector at the provincial level reached IDR 4,616.76 billion, with strategic areas such as Bandar Lampung City confirming the accommodation sector as a base sector (LQ > 1) with a high competitive advantage. The integration of a creative economy based on local wisdom, such as the use of Tapis cloth and digital marketing, has been proven to increase the attractiveness of destinations, capable of driving the volume of domestic tourist trips to reach 17.87 million trips by 2024. This finding confirms that Lampung's tourism sector is not only a regional economic driver, but also makes a substantial contribution to national income through a multiplier effect on job creation and increasing domestic foreign exchange. Optimizing collaboration between policymakers and accelerating infrastructure development are key to strengthening the strategic position of Lampung tourism in the future.

The Impact-Oriented Community Service Program (KKN Berdampak) conducted by students of Universitas Mayjend Sungkono in Kebontunggul Village, Gondang District, Mojokerto Regency focused on optimizing branding and digital marketing for the Lembah Mbencirang tourist destination. Lembah Mbencirang is a village-based tourism destination with significant natural and educational potential; however, this potential has not been widely recognized due to limitations in branding and digital marketing. This community service program aimed to sustainably increase tourist visits through SWOT analysis, visual identity rebranding, and digital marketing campaigns utilizing social media, search engine optimization (SEO), and visual content. The activities were carried out participatively in collaboration with the local Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) and Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) using observation, mentoring, and promotional content development methods. The results indicate that the optimization of branding and digital marketing at Lembah Mbencirang Tourism produced initial outcomes in the form of digital media readiness and increased understanding among tourism managers. Although the impact on visitor numbers has not yet been measured significantly, a digital marketing foundation has been established as an initial step toward the development of village tourism.

This study aims to design and implement an information technology-based economic and tourism potential mapping system in Tema Tana Village. This village faces several problems, including manual data management, limited access to information, and the absence of an integrated system for efficiently presenting village potential data. This study uses a descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. In developing the system, the Waterfall method is used, consisting of the stages of planning, design, implementation, and testing. The system design was carried out using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) to ensure a clear system structure and flow. The results of the system development indicate that the system is able to present information in the form of interactive digital maps and reports that are easily accessible to users. Testing using the Black Box Testing method shows that all system features function well and are in accordance with predetermined needs. Thus, this system is expected to improve the effectiveness of data management and support better decision-making processes in developing village potential, particularly in the economic and tourism sectors.

This study aims to analyze the role of digital transformation in strengthening competitive advantage and resilience of highland tourism villages in Central Java. Highland tourism villages face increasing competition, environmental vulnerability, and market uncertainty, requiring adaptive and innovation-driven strategies. Digital transformation is considered a strategic instrument to enhance destination competitiveness, expand market access, and improve institutional resilience. This research employs a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) to examine the relationships among digital transformation, competitive advantage, and tourism village resilience. The study was conducted in selected highland tourism villages in Central Java, including [insert village names if needed]. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to tourism village managers, local stakeholders, and community representatives. The findings indicate that digital transformation has a significant positive effect on competitive advantage and resilience. Furthermore, competitive advantage partially mediates the relationship between digital transformation and tourism village resilience. These results suggest that digital adoption, digital marketing integration, and digital governance practices are critical in strengthening sustainable tourism development in highland areas. The study contributes to the literature on digital tourism transformation and provides managerial implications for policymakers and tourism village managers in developing adaptive and resilient tourism ecosystems.

This article examines the effectiveness and application of management principles of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in managing the Ponggok Tourism Village, Klaten Regency, based on Klaten Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2018. As a leading national tourism village, Ponggok Village has demonstrated significant success through the active role of BUMDes Tirta Mandiri. This research employs an empirical legal method with a qualitative descriptive approach to illustrate the actual governance of BUMDes. The findings indicate that BUMDes Tirta Mandiri has optimally applied organizational effectiveness principles through digital innovation, professional corporate management, and the optimization of Umbul Ponggok's water resources. Moreover, the implementation of governance principles based on the regulation has provided a clear legal framework, generated massive Village Original Income (PADes), and promoted inclusive economic growth. However, challenges remain in ensuring that the economic benefits fully reach all marginalized groups. This study underscores the importance of continuous institutional capacity building to maintain the existence and competitiveness of the tourism village.

Despite its rich natural and cultural assets, the village faces challenges in sustaining tourism growth due to fluctuating visitor numbers, limited services differentiation, and uneven income distribution. The research aims to evaluate how transparent and participatory financial practices can strengthen community capacity, enhance homestay development, and ensure long-term sustainability. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with tourism managers and homestay operators, direct observation of community practices, and analysis of financial records and visitor data from 2023 to 2025. Findings reveal that inclusive organizational structures, collective price agreements, and youth-led digitalization initiatives foster social cohesion, accountability, and innovation, while service homogeneity and seasonal visitor fluctuations remain critical constraints. The synthesis highlights financial management not merely as a technical tool but as a catalyst for empowerment, enabling equitable income distribution, entrepreneurial growth, and resilience against market volatility. The study concludes that professional financial recording systems, continuous capacity-building, and collaboration among communities, government, and private stakeholders are essential to advance sustainable tourism development. Ultimately, financial management emerges as both a governance mechanism and a strategic pathway for balancing economic growth, cultural preservation, and community empowerment in Somongari Tourism Village.
