The Cargo oil pump is one of the auxiliary units on board a ship, used to transfer cargo from one location to another during loading and unloading operations. On the MT Pangrango vessel, an issue occurred with the cargo oil pump: its performance declined, resulting in slow suction during the unloading process. This problem hindered efficient cargo operations, as the pump was not functioning properly. This study aims to identify the contributing factors, impacts, and countermeasures for the decreased performance of the cargo oil pump. The research methodology applied in this thesis involved a descriptive approach combined with Miles and Huberman’s analytical method, with data validity tested via triangulation. Data collection techniques used to identify the problem included observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The results revealed that the pump’s shaft was worn due to excessive friction, and the ball bearing s exhibited wear and disintegration caused by lack of lubrication (grease). The recommended corrective actions were to add material to the shaft , perform realignment to correct any shaft misalignment, and implement routine maintenance—specifically, monthly grease lubrication. These measures, when properly applied, can significantly reduce the risk of Cargo oil pump damage.

Loading and unloading is the activity of moving goods from land transportation, and to carry out the activity of moving the load, adequate facilities or equipment are needed in a shipping method or procedure. The implementation of loading and unloading occurs various obstacles that often slow down loading and unloading activities, especially in the 3T (Underdeveloped, Frontier, and Outermost) areas. The equipment and facilities available by the port greatly affect how fast or slow the loading and unloading activities take place. This study aims to determine: 1) What are the factors that cause delays in the loading and unloading process of containers in the 3T area 2) What efforts are made by company and port management in overcoming delays in the loading and unloading process of containers in the 3T area. The method used by the researcher this time is descriptive qualitative. Primary data in this study were obtained directly through interviews, observations (observations) and also documentation. The main factors that are the main causes of why loading and unloading activities in the 3T area are ineffective and inefficient, namely the lack of adequate loading and unloading equipment and port facilities, the lack of human resources and skills from TKBM, as well as geographical conditions and bad weather. This situation causes loading and unloading activities to be ineffective.

Ports are critical infrastructure in maritime transportation, facilitating the movement of goods and people while serving as hubs for economic activities. The Tanjung Pakis Class III Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) utilizes the Electronic Reporting Information (SIRANI) application for reporting loading and unloading data. However, challenges such as discrepancies, technical disruptions, and delays in data processing often arise. This study aims to describe the loading and unloading data processing and the efficiency of reporting time on the SIRANI application at KSOP Class III Tanjung Pakis. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation, the research finds that data processing is less effective due to low data validity and errors in the Inaportnet platform. Reporting to SIRANI is also inefficient due to delays in data handling and technical issues with the application. Corrective measures, such as early data verification and manual data handling by reporting officers, have improved effectiveness by reducing the process from five to three steps and cutting reporting time from 6 hours to 3 hours and 30 minutes. The study concludes that optimizing data processing and inter-unit coordination can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of reporting. Recommendations for future research include real-time integration and the development of backup mechanisms to address technical disruptions.

The loading and unloading process involves moving goods from one place to another, often requiring specialized equipment such as a wire crane. In maritime operations, unexpected incidents like wire crane breakage can occur. Wire crane breakage refers to damage in the sling wire of a ship's crane, reducing its lifting capacity and causing the wire fibres to unravel. During sea-based fieldwork on the MV. Pacific Bulk, researchers observed a wire crane failure during loading and unloading operations, which caused delays and financial losses. This study aims to identify the causes of wire crane breakage on the MV. Pacific Bulk and examine its technical and operational impacts. Using a qualitative descriptive method and fishbone analysis for data interpretation, the study found several contributing factors: wire corrosion, crane age, lack of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for crane maintenance, insufficient crew, inadequate maintenance, lack of routine inspections, and challenging environmental conditions. The research also highlights the technical and operational consequences of such failures, including delays and economic loss. To address the issue, the study suggests implementing scheduled periodic inspections following SOPs, applying regular lubrication, and maintaining data records of the wire crane’s lifespan. These preventative measures aim to improve operational efficiency and avoid future wire crane failures.

been resolved in Indonesia. This research aims to determine the influence of Port Services, Loading and Unloading Performance, Loading and Unloading Equipment and Natural Factors on Idle Time at the Koja Container Terminal, Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta. The population in this study were operational employees and ship crew from the deck department division. The sample used in this research was 80 respondents. And using a disproportionate stratified random sampling technique, then the data was analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 25. Based on the research results and data analysis, the regression equation was produced: Y= -1.176+ 0.334X1+ 0.181X2 + 0.318X3 + 0.302X4+ . From the equation it is known that the dominant variable influencing Idle Time is the Port Services variable with a regression coefficient of 0.334. The R2 (R square) test obtained a result of (67%), which means that Idle Time at the Koja Container Terminal, Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, is influenced by the variables Port Service, Loading and Unloading Performance, Loading and Unloading Equipment and Natural Factors, namely 67%. The conclusion  is  that the independent  variables  (port  services,  loading  and unloading performance, loading and unloading equipment, and natural factors) have a negative and significant effect on the dependent variable Idle Time. This is because the results of the multiple linear regression equation show that t count > t table.

This study aims to analyze the reliability and performance of Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes using the Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Inherent Availability (IA) methods. The MTTR method is used to measure the average time required for repairs, while MTBF calculates the average time between failures. Meanwhile, the IA method assesses the inherent availability of the equipment based on the previous two parameters. The results indicate that some RTG units experience high MTTR, such as RTG035-12, which recorded a repair time of 124.15 hours in January, and RTG035-13 with 441.23 hours in February. On the other hand, RTG035-19 demonstrated more stable performance with low MTTR in several months. In terms of MTBF, RTG035-16 recorded the lowest value of 0 hours in July, indicating significant disruptions, whereas RTG035-12 exhibited the best performance with the highest MTBF of 614 hours in December. The IA analysis revealed that some RTGs had low values, such as RTG035-13, which only reached 0.312 in February, while RTG035-19 maintained values above 0.95 throughout the year, demonstrating high reliability. This study provides insights into the performance of RTG equipment at the Semarang Container Terminal (TPKS) and emphasizes the need for effective maintenance strategies to enhance operational reliability and efficiency.
