This study examines the tourism development strategy to increase Local Original Revenue (PAD) in Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi. Despite having significant tourism potential, such as Bira Beach and the Pinisi shipbuilding tradition, the contribution of the tourism sector to PAD remains fluctuating and has not been fully optimized. Therefore, this study aims to formulate an effective and targeted tourism development strategy. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach using observation, Likert-scale questionnaires, and documentation, with data analyzed through SWOT analysis, IFAS-EFAS matrices, and the Grand Strategy Matrix. The findings indicate that the tourism sector has strong internal strengths (5,09) and significant external opportunities (4,99), exceeding its weaknesses (4,56) and threats (3,95), placing it in Quadrant I (aggressive strategy). The results suggest that the most appropriate strategy is the SO (Strengths-Opportunities) strategy, which focuses on optimizing tourism potential, enhancing digital promotion, strengthening cultural-based tourism, and expanding investment in infrastructure. The study concludes that implementing an aggressive and integrated strategy can improve the tourism sector’s contribution to PAD and support regional economic development. These findings highlight the importance of aligning tourism potential with strategic planning to achieve sustainable fiscal growth.

Minang Rua Beach in South Lampung possesses significant tourism potential that has not been optimally utilized, primarily due to the lack of creative promotional events and limited community skills in event management. This community service aimed to enhance the capacity of the local Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) and youth in designing, managing, and promoting tourism events effectively. The method employed was a participatory training approach that included lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice covering creative event design, logistics management, budgeting (RAB), and digital promotion strategies. The training activities were met with high enthusiasm and active participation from the community members. The participants gained new, practical knowledge and skills in event planning and promotion, as demonstrated by their active engagement during interactive sessions and simulations. The improved capacity of the local community is expected to foster the independent and sustainable organization of creative events, thereby enhancing the destination's attractiveness and increasing tourist visits. Sustainable tourism aims to maximize the potential of travel destinations while maintaining a careful balance between social, economic, and environmental factors, and coastal tourism such as that found at Mutun Beach in Lampung illustrates both the promise and the urgency of this approach. Coastal tourism is one of the fastest-growing segments of the global travel industry, offering visitors natural beauty, recreational activities, and cultural experiences that generate significant income for local economies. In Indonesia, beaches are major attractions that can boost regional development through job creation, small business opportunities, and improved infrastructure. Mutun Beach, a well-known coastal destination on the southern coast of Sumatra, contributes greatly to the Regional Original Income (PAD) of Lampung Province and provides livelihoods for surrounding communities. Yet despite its popularity, the area continues to face persistent problems such as weak administrative management, limited community participation, inadequate facilities, and signs of environmental degradation, all of which threaten its long-term sustainability. This service project therefore focuses on designing a comprehensive plan for sustainable tourism growth at Mutun Beach for the 2025–2030 period. A participatory strategy is employed through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) involving local government, tourism stakeholders, community members, academics, and potential investors to ensure inclusive decision-making. The resulting five-stage roadmap emphasizes strengthening tourism regulations, constructing eco-friendly infrastructure, empowering residents with training and entrepreneurial opportunities, creating tourism products that highlight environmental and cultural values, and adopting digital marketing to reach broader audiences. Success indicators include increased regional revenue, rising visitor numbers, higher tourist satisfaction, and measurable improvements in coastal environmental health. Implementing this roadmap is urgent because coastal tourism directly supports economic growth, provides steady employment, and safeguards natural resources, ensuring that Mutun Beach remains both competitive and environmentally resilient for generations to come.

Tedunan Beach in Seluma Regency, Bengkulu, holds exceptional potential as an ecotourism asset, attributed to its authentic and untouched natural landscape, featuring white sand stretches and a unique mangrove ecosystem. Sustainable tourism development, however, demands active participation and entrepreneurship from the local community, which is key to ensuring the equitable distribution of economic benefits and environmental preservation. This research aims to analyze the current community entrepreneurship models, identify challenges hindering business growth, and formulate strategic opportunities for development. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was collected through in-depth interviews with business actors and community leaders, participant observation, and documentation studies. Findings indicate that community-based businesses have grown organically, albeit on a micro scale, encompassing fresh seafood culinary stalls, tourist hut rentals, and local guide services. Nevertheless, this growth is hampered by fundamental constraints: limited access to formal working capital, minimal promotion hindering market penetration, and a lack of professional training in financial management and tourism service standards. In response, an integrated development model is formulated recommending: increasing human resource capacity through business management and tourism awareness training, facilitating access to capital through partnerships, and strengthening digital-based promotion. In conclusion, Tedunan Beach tourism can be sustainable if supported by a comprehensive empowerment program that not only boosts economic income but also essentially fosters a sense of ownership and community responsibility towards the destination's preservation.

This Real Work Lecture (KKN) activity was carried out in Kampung Tua Teluk Mata Ikan, Batam, with the aim of making a real contribution to the community through two main programs, namely the development of digital marketing for Ujung Beach tourist destinations and the implementation of social service activities at the Al-Kahfi Foundation. The problems faced by partners are the lack of digital promotion strategies for tourism potential and the limited support of adequate social facilities at the foundation. To overcome these problems, this service activity uses field observation methods, digital marketing training, mutual cooperation on environmental cleanliness, and socialization to the community and foundation administrators. The training includes social media content creation, digital account management, and internet-based marketing strategies to increase the attractiveness of Ujung Beach as a local tourist destination. In addition, social activities are carried out through joint community service, provision of basic needs assistance, and clean environment education. The results of the implementation of this program show an increase in public awareness of the importance of using digital technology for tourism promotion, as well as the creation of a cleaner, neater, and more comfortable social environment. The enthusiasm of the community and the foundation showed a positive response to this activity, which contributed to strengthening the socio-economic capacity of the residents. Overall, this KKN program not only provides a short-term impact in the form of improving skills and environmental cleanliness, but also encourages the sustainability of local tourism development and community empowerment. The active involvement of students in the planning and evaluation process also strengthens the spirit of collaboration and social concern which is the main basis of this service activity.

This study analyzes the influence of Electronic Word of Mouth (eWOM) and destination image on visit intention and decision to Sebalang Beach, South Lampung. With tourists increasingly relying on online reviews, understanding these relationships is essential for effective destination marketing. The research addresses the issue of how eWOM and destination image affect tourists' decisions, aiming to provide insights for tourism stakeholders. A quantitative approach was used, employing a survey method with purposive sampling of 110 respondents who have visited or intended to visit Sebalang Beach. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to test the proposed hypotheses. Findings indicate that destination image significantly influences visit intention and visit decisions, while visit intention also mediates the effect of destination image on visit decisions. However, eWOM does not have a significant impact on visit intention or visit decisions, and visit intention does not mediate the relationship between eWOM and visit decisions. These results suggest the importance of strengthening online promotional strategies and enhancing the positive image of Sebalang Beach. Encouraging content creation on social media and collaborating with influencers can effectively increase engagement and attract visitors. This study offers practical recommendations for tourism stakeholders to optimize Sebalang Beach’s potential and enhance its competitiveness as a tourist destination.
