As business complexity and global competition intensify, the limitations of traditional cost accounting systems in providing relevant information for strategic decision-making become increasingly apparent. This has driven the adoption of Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and subsequently Activity-Based Management (ABM), which have evolved as vital tools to accurately allocate costs based on activities and transform this information into value-enhancing and efficiency-improving strategies. This study aims to map the landscape, influence, and visibility of ABC and ABM publications through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer. The research method involves a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) for data collection and screening from 488 publications (2023-2025) indexed in Scopus from Google Scholar, followed by data analysis and visualization of co-authorship and keyword co-occurrence networks. The analysis results show the dominance of core concepts such as "activity-based costing/management," "activity," "costing," and "management" as the foundation of research. Identified thematic clusters include the basic applications of ABC and its impact on performance, managerial aspects of ABM, efficiency, and the challenges and benefits of implementation. Temporal trends indicate a shift in the focus of recent research towards the strategic and managerial contributions of ABM/ABC in enhancing efficiency, supporting decision-making, and driving organizational performance. Density visualizations confirm research "hotspots" in these areas, while also highlighting potential research gaps for the future. The conclusion demonstrates the continuous relevance of ABC and ABM as adaptive cost and performance management tools, as well as the evolution of the discipline continually adapting to modern business's strategic needs, guiding researchers and practitioners for further exploration.

The demand for real-time performance monitoring in the Industry 5.0 era encourages organizations to adopt integrated approaches to management control systems. This study aims to develop and validate a Balanced Scorecard (BSC)-based performance evaluation model integrated with computerized accounting systems to enhance managerial decision-making quality. The research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach, following systematic stages of model development including needs analysis, system design, prototype construction, and expert validation. Primary data were obtained from three management accounting experts and two information system practitioners who evaluated the model using five key criteria: accuracy of key performance indicators (KPI), ease of use, indicator relevance, data visualization quality, and implementation feasibility. The findings reveal that all criteria achieved average scores above 4.0 on a five-point scale, indicating a high level of expert consensus and confirming the model’s conceptual validity. The highest scores were recorded for KPI accuracy (4.5) and implementation feasibility (4.4), demonstrating the model’s potential for real-world application. The novelty of this study lies in its integration of BSC metrics with real-time accounting data processing through the R&D approach, resulting in a systematic framework for performance monitoring. Future research is recommended to enhance dashboard interactivity and conduct field implementation testing to measure the model’s impact on decision-making quality.

A high-quality management accounting system provides accurate, timely, and relevant information to support managers in decision-making, planning, and control. Research shows a positive relationship between the quality of management accounting systems and managerial performance. In addition, decentralization, by delegating authority to lower-level managers, allows for faster and more effective decision-making and increases managerial motivation. Effective implementation of these two factors can significantly improve managerial performance and the competitiveness of a company.

This paper discusses in depth the role of accounting in business decision-making in the digital era, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by the accounting profession in the context of rapid and complex technological developments. In the modern business world, accounting information plays a crucial role, not only as a financial reporting tool but also as a foundation for strategic analysis that can influence the direction and policies of an organization. The issues raised pertain to the importance of timely and accurate accounting information in supporting managerial decision-making, as well as how this information can be used to enhance the performance and competitiveness of companies. The main objective of this research is to explore how digitalization and technological innovations, such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, and cloud-based information systems, affect accounting practices and their impact on business decision-making. This research also aims to identify the challenges arising from technological changes, including data security issues, the necessary technological skills, and regulatory changes that accountants must face. The methodology employed in this research is a normative approach with descriptive analysis, which includes literature studies and analysis of various relevant secondary data sources. Additionally, this research presents several case studies to demonstrate the application of theory in real practice and its impact on decision-making. The findings indicate that although digitalization brings many benefits in terms of efficiency and accuracy, there are serious challenges to be faced, such as the increased risk of data breaches and the need for higher technological skills among accounting professionals. The conclusion drawn from this research is that to optimally leverage the potential of accounting in supporting business decision-making, companies must invest in training and skill development for their accountants. Furthermore, the importance of implementing sustainable accounting practices is increasingly gaining attention, especially in the context of social and environmental responsibility. Thus, accounting not only functions as a supporting tool but also as a strategic element that adds value to companies in facing the complexities and uncertainties of the future.

This article discusses the development of accounting information systems to improve efficiency and accuracy, focusing on a case study of the implementation of accounting program changes. Previous studies have shown that effective accounting information systems can significantly improve the quality of accounting and managerial information. The implementation of accounting program changes often involves the integration of information technology to improve the process of financial reporting, internal control, and analysis of company performance. Previous studies have shown that companies that adopt information technology in their accounting systems have a competitive advantage in managing and analyzing financial information more efficiently. Important factors in the development of accounting information systems are the need to ensure data accuracy, reporting speed, and real-time availability of information for internal and external stakeholders. This study also explores the positive impact of the use of accounting information systems on the company's operational efficiency and strategic decision making. Successful implementations show that modern accounting information systems are able to integrate various business functions, such as finance, inventory, and manufacturing, to improve the coordination and effectiveness of the organization as a whole. Thus, the development of accounting information systems not only improves the company's internal processes but also enhances the company's adaptability to rapid and complex changes in the business environment. This study provides a strong theoretical foundation for understanding the importance of information technology integration in the context of accounting program changes to achieve higher efficiency and accuracy goals.

This study examines the interaction between conservative financial reporting and managerial incentives in decision-making, using a qualitative approach through a literature review. Conservative financial reporting plays a crucial role in enhancing the transparency and accuracy of information utilized by managers in the decision-making process. On the other hand, optimally designed managerial incentives can encourage managers to value and utilize the accounting information presented conservatively. The findings indicate that accounting conservatism can reduce the risk of inappropriate decision-making, although it may also pose potential risks of avoidance towards necessary investments for company growth. This research provides insights into the importance of balancing the implementation of conservative financial reporting and managerial incentives, as well as its implications for corporate performance. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for company management in designing more effective incentive systems and reporting.
