This study aims to synergize the importance of simple accounting records for MSMEs with Q.S. al-Baqarah verse 282. Where many MSMEs do not implement accounting records even though they are simple. If MSMEs implement this, it can help business sustainability. Allah SWT has commanded business people to record transactions in Q.S. al-Baqarah verse 282. This study uses a qualitative method. The results of the study show that Surah Al-Baqarah verse 282 provides practical and moral guidance that is very relevant to the needs of accounting records in MSMEs. The principles of honesty, accuracy, and justice in this verse are in line with accounting practices that aim to create effective, professional, and sustainable financial management. By implementing these values, MSMEs can face modern business challenges with a strong foundation and oriented towards business sustainability and social harmony. In addition, the application of Qur’anic values can enhance business partners’ trust and improve transparency in transactional relationships. Therefore, the introduction of simple accounting is a strategic step to encourage more professional and sustainable business management. This activity was carried out by a team of lecturers accompanied by students, with a participatory approach and based on direct practice. The training material includes basic understanding of accounting, recording daily transactions, preparing income statements, and simulating the use of financial statements for working capital submissions. Through this method, it is hoped that there will be an effective and applicable transfer of knowledge from academics to the public. The results of the activity showed that participants were able to understand the importance of financial recording and began to implement a simple bookkeeping system in their business operations. In addition, participants also showed increased confidence in compiling financial statements that can be used as supporting documents in applying for financing to cooperatives, banks, or other financial institutions. This activity not only provides practical benefits for MSME actors, but also strengthens the role of universities in community economic empowerment. In the future, similar activities can be developed with the integration of digital technology to support more efficient and accurate financial recording.

Trading businesses have the main characteristic of purchasing goods for resale without changing the nature of the goods, so that the preparation of accurate financial reports is very important to support business planning and strategy. However, many SMEs in Indonesia still face difficulties in understanding and implementing accounting, considering it as complicated, time-consuming, and costly. This study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method, collecting data through interviews, observations, and documentation studies of the process of preparing financial reports at SMK Muhammadiyah 08 Medan. This study also refers to the application of the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM) released by the Financial Accounting Standards Board of the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (DSAK IAI) in 2016. The results of the study indicate that most trading business actors in the environment do not fully understand the importance of preparing financial reports in accordance with standards. Factors of limited resources, lack of understanding, and the assumption that financial reports are not needed are the main obstacles. This study provides recommendations in the form of simple accounting training that can help business actors prepare financial reports in accordance with SAK EMKM. The implementation of this recommendation is expected to improve accountability, transparency, and overall financial management of trading businesses.

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have a crucial role in the Indonesian economy. However, MSMEs often face a number of obstacles caused by certain factors, such as low levels of education, lack of understanding of information technology, and unreliability in presenting financial reports. The aim of this service activity is to provide training to MSMEs who are members of the OKE OCE Melawai program regarding simple bookkeeping using the Excel application, in accordance with SAK UMKM standards. This activity involves several stages, including a pre-assessment questionnaire, tutorial, practical training, and a simple accounting assessment. In the initial investigation stage before implementing community service activities, it was discovered that the majority of OKE OCE Melawai MSMEs still used manual ledgers to manage their accounts, which ultimately affected the quality of financial reporting. A total of 46 MSMEs assisted by OKE OCE Melawai participated in this activity enthusiastically. The activity went well, and it is hoped that it will produce Microsoft Excel-based financial reports as the output of this community service. Thus, it is hoped that OKE OCE Melawai's MSMEs can improve their basic skills and understanding in the field of accounting, and be able to present quality financial reporting data using Microsoft Excel according to accounting standards.
