Population growth and socio-economic activities increase traffic volume, affecting the performance of the Raden Kusno – A. Djaelani – Sujarwo signalized intersection. This study aims to analyze the intersection’s current performance, estimate its condition over the next five years, and formulate alternative treatment strategies. The research data include geometric characteristics, signal timing, vehicle speed, and traffic volume obtained from CCTV recording over a three-day observation period from moning to evening, as well as population and vehicle data for projection. The intersection performance was analyzed using the PKJI 2023 approach and VISSIM simulation. Under current conditions, the intersection operates at LOS E with delays of 45,12 seconds (PKJI 2023) dan 60,56 seconds (VISSIM). In the five-year projection, delays increase to 48,97 seconds with LOS E (PKJI 2023) and 131,29 seconds with LOS F (VISSIM). Modifying the signal from four to three phases with a 70-second cycle improves the current condition to LOS C, with delays of 24,50 seconds (PKJI 2023) and 29,43 seconds (VISSIM). For the five-year projection, adding a continuous left-turn lane results in LOS D with 27,04 seconds (PKJI 2023) and LOS C with 32,01 seconds (VISSIM).

Indonesia is in an earthquake-prone region, therefore, designing building constructions that can withstand seismic loads is crucial in civil engineering. Reinforced concrete shear walls are one of the vertical structural fundamentals that are effectively used in multi-story buildings to withstand lateral forces due to earthquake and wind loads. Structures that use shear walls can increase stiffness and reduce horizontal deviations (deflections) of buildings, which contribute to the stability and safety of structures based on the SNI 1726:2019 standard. This study aims to analyze the effect of shear wall configurations on deviation and torsion requirements in multi-story building planning. The study object is a 6-story reinforced concrete building model in a specific earthquake zone. The design and modeling were performed using structural analysis software, taking into account columns, beams, slabs, and shear walls. The analysis results show that optimal placement of shear walls at the building edges significantly reduces horizontal drift, torsion, and shear forces, and improves the structural performance level compared to structures without shear walls or those with less effective placement. Structures with shear walls have optimal stiffness in absorbing lateral forces, making them more resistant to damage from the planned earthquake.

Entamoeba histolytica is an intestinal protozoan that can cause diarrhea through fecal–oral transmission due to the consumption of food or water contaminated with parasitic cysts. Based on data from the Badan Pusat Statistik in 2017–2019, Simpang Keramat District, particularly Paya Leupah Village, still had limited access to clean water and low ownership of permanent sanitary latrines, which may increase the risk of environmental contamination. This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of dug wells and the risk factors associated with Entamoeba histolytica contamination in community well water. An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted on 50 dug wells selected using purposive sampling. Data were obtained through field observations and laboratory examinations of well water samples. The results showed that most wells had distances to septic tanks that did not meet health standards (58%) and inadequate well floor conditions (82%), while the majority of wells had depths that fulfilled the recommended standard (76%). All well water samples tested negative for Entamoeba histolytica cysts; therefore, the association between risk factors and contamination could not be determined.

This article explores the concept and implementation of restorative justice in Indonesia, an approach currently at a crucial crossroads within the criminal justice system. Rather than solely focusing on punishment, restorative justice offers a path towards repairing relationships between victims, offenders, and the community, seeking solutions oriented around conflict resolution. Through comprehensive analysis, this paper identifies the philosophical foundations and regulations supporting the adoption of restorative justice, while dissecting the dynamics of its application across various levels of legal processes in Indonesia. However, this noble endeavor is not without its challenges, ranging from institutional resistance and uneven understanding to harmonization with the conventional criminal law framework. Behind every case lies a human story yearning for more substantive justice. Therefore, this article argues that the success of restorative justice does not merely lie in its legal umbrella, but in our ability to understand and embrace the human dimension in every dispute resolution process. Consequently, this paper recommends adaptive and collaborative strategies to strengthen the role of restorative justice, ensuring it can guide our criminal justice system towards a more just and dignified future for all parties.

Pedestrian is one of the most important public spaces for urban areas. On the border of Muara Enim city has a pedestrian that attracts attention, namely the pedestrian welcome intersection kepur. Simpang Kepur pedestrian has a border gate that is the center of attention and the first impression when entering the city of Muara Enim so that it has the opportunity as a face or symbol of the identity of the city of Muara Enim. Visually, the existence of pedestrians and gates at the Kepur intersection looks quite attractive but functionally it is not in accordance with the characteristics of pedestrian activities on the pedestrian so that research is needed to rearrange the previous design so that the function of the pedestrian becomes even better. The method used is qualitative through observation based on facts and activities in the field. Analysis based on the impression of place and activity on the pedestrian. The results obtained that there is a need to change the appearance of the color processing so that the pedestrian becomes more alive, need to keep the pedestrian so that there is no loss or damage, the need for guardrails or vegetation / view barrier plants in the area behind or beside the pedestrian, rearrangement of plants that can absorb dust and can absorb noise, and arrangement of street furniture, namely visual recommendations for a wider bus stop design, replace permanent seating, replace permanent trash.
