Misterius: Publikasi Ilmu Seni dan Desain Komunikasi Visual 2025 Asosiasi Seni Desain dan Komunikasi Visual Indonesia

River pollution has become one of the serious environmental issues in Indonesia, including in the Gelis River in Kudus City. The lack of public awareness—especially among the younger generation—in maintaining river cleanliness highlights the need for effective and engaging educational media. This study aims to design an Android-based educational game as an interactive learning tool for children aged 7 to 12 years to raise their awareness about the importance of keeping rivers clean. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D), employing the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The game developed, titled RiverCourse: Petualangan Menjaga Sungai (RiverCourse: The Adventure of Protecting the River), features a sidescrolling mechanic with a visual style combining pixel art and cartoons, suited to the cognitive development stage of children. Testing was conducted on the target age group through observation and simple questionnaires.

The UIN Walisongo KKN Team conducted community service activities in Krompaan Village with the aim of increasing public awareness and participation in preventing Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD). Considering that this village is located near a river, which has the potential to be a habitat for the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, effective prevention efforts are needed to prevent this disease, which is one of the infectious diseases that is still endemic in Indonesia. The spread of this disease is influenced by mobility and environmental conditions that support the breeding of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito. The community service team focused on three main objectives in this activity by providing education about the dangers of DBD, teaching how to prevent the spread of mosquitoes, and using aromatherapy candles to prevent mosquitoes. The purpose of the counseling is to reduce diseases caused by mosquitoes by teaching the community about how to live a healthy life.Used cooking oil processed into aromatherapy candles is one of the new innovations in preventing DBD. This method is considered practical and easy to implement by the community by utilizing materials available around them. The community is also educated on how to maintain environmental cleanliness, such as draining and closing water reservoirs regularly and recycling household waste to reduce the possibility of mosquito breeding grounds. The hope is that this outreach will make the community more independent in maintaining environmental health and actively involved in preventing dengue fever so that the risk of increasing cases in their village can be reduced. This activity has succeeded in achieving the stated objectives, namely increasing community awareness and involvement in preventing dengue fever.

Individuals' lack of awareness of cleanliness is a factor that greatly influences environmental health. Therefore, providing understanding to the public regarding the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, especially in managing household waste, must be improved. Raising public awareness to live clean and free from waste is our common goal, not only for people in urban areas but also for people in rural areas. The lack of knowledge and awareness of the people of Serang Subdistrict regarding the importance of protecting the environment, and how to manage waste, can be seen from the large number of Serang Subdistrict residents who throw rubbish in gardens and even rivers, as well as the lack of rubbish bins in homes or in public places. To raise public awareness about caring for the environment requires education that must be carried out continuously, in order to change people's habits and mindset. This service aims to raise public awareness about throwing away rubbish in its proper place and socializing how to make rubbish bins from used plastic drums. The author uses the PAR (Participatory Action Research) method to solve environmental problems. The activities take the form of socializing information about environmental cleanliness and providing training to the community to make trash cans from items around us that are no longer used, one of which is using used plastic drums. The result of the activity is an increase in public knowledge of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness through the use of trash cans that have been made in view of the residential environment being free of rubbish, as well as the community's ability to make their own trash cans from used plastic drums.
