Anxiety is a mistake, doubt in something that will happen with an unclear cause or object related to feelings of uncertainty such as worry about facing surgery. To overcome anxiety, there are types of therapy that can be applied by nurses, namely pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological therapy. One type of non-pharmacological therapy that can be used is the Benson relaxation technique. This study aims to determine the effect of Benson relaxation on reducing anxiety levels in pre-operative patients in the Dahlia Room, Tanjungpinang City Hospital. The design of this research is a pre-experiment with one group pretest posttest type. The number of samples in this study was 21 preoperative patients using the Accidental Sampling technique. The instrument used was the Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety And Information Scale (APAIS) questionnaire. Then analyzed using the non-parametric Wilcoxon test. Univariate results before being given Benson relaxation showed that 33.3% had mild anxiety, 66.7% had moderate anxiety, and after Benson relaxation 85.7% had mild anxiety, 14.3% had moderate anxiety. Bivariate results show that the hypothesis is accepted with a p-value of 0.000. It was concluded that there was an effect of Benson relaxation on reducing anxiety levels in pre-operative patients in the Dahlia Room, Tanjungpinang City Hospital. From this research, it is hoped that the Benson relaxation technique can be used as an alternative therapy to reduce patient anxiety levels that does not have harmful side effects for patients.

Preoperative anxiety is a common issue experienced by patients before undergoing general surgery. This anxiety can negatively impact patients' physiological and psychological conditions and affect postoperative outcomes. A preoperative education program has been implemented as part of community service at the hospital to reduce patient anxiety. This study aims to evaluate the effect of preoperative education on the anxiety levels of patients undergoing general surgery. The method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-test and post-test design. The results show that preoperative education significantly reduces patients' anxiety levels before surgery. Thus, preoperative education can be an effective intervention to improve patients' mental preparedness before undergoing surgical procedures.

Background: Pre-operation is the initial stage to prepare the patient as much as possible, more than two-thirds of patients waiting for surgery experience anxiety because it is their first time undergoing spinal anesthesia surgery. As a result of the patient's intense preoperative anxiety, there is a possibility that the operation cannot be carried out. The way to overcome anxiety is through deep breathing relaxation techniques. Objective: To determine the effect of deep breathing relaxation on anxiety in preoperative patients. Research methods: This research uses quantitative research design using Quasy Experiment, namely an experimental design carried out without randomization. This research was conducted at PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital in the operating room in February 2024. This population consisted of 42 patients in one month with a research sample of 30 respondents. This research instrument uses the APAIS questionnaire. This research technique uses purposive sampling. Results: The data that can be generated when using the deep breathing relaxation technique is 30 respondents using the pre test-post test technique. During the pre-test, those experiencing moderate anxiety amounted to 40.0%, severe anxiety amounted to 40.0%, the most severe anxiety/panic amounted to 20.0%. At the time of the post test, those experiencing mild anxiety were 66.7%, and those experiencing moderate anxiety were 33.3%. Conclusion: When the observation was carried out, there was a decrease in the level of anxiety, so that the respondent's anxiety had reduced.

Background: Pre-operative anxiety is the fear of pain after surgery, physical changes, facing surgical equipment and staff, death during anesthesia, failure of surgery or complications during surgery. Anxiety in patients who will undergo surgery can be overcome with non-framacological therapy, namely SEFT therapy which has a positive impact on reducing preoperative patient anxiety. Purpose: This case study aims to determine whether implementing SEFT therapy can reduce anxiety in preoperative patients Method : The method is a case study focusing on one patient. First, a numerical rating scale was utilised to measure the intensity of anxiety of the patients using the STAI (State-Traite Anxiety Inventory), then using SEFT therapy over of 3 stages, namely set-up, tune-in, and tapping between 10-15 minutes 1 time per day for 2 days, then re-evaluate using STAI to measure anxiety levels after the intervention  Results: The results show that using the SEFT therapeutic intervention, the preoperative patient's anxiety level decreased from moderate anxiety to mild anxiety Suggestion: Nurses could provide education to patients and their families in order to be able to reduce anxiety in the pre-operative phase so that patients can become more relaxed and comfortable.

Background Surgical planning for preoperative patients is a psychosocial stressor that can cause stress, anxiety, and depression. Preoperative is the period before surgery is performed, starting from the time the decision is made for surgery until the patient is on the operating table. Laparotomy is one of the major surgical procedures by making an incision in the lining of the abdominal wall to obtain problems in the abdominal organs, such as cancer, bleeding, obstruction, and perforation. Research objectives: The general objective of this study was to determine the effect of implementing education on anxiety levels in preoperative apparatus patients with general anesthesia. Research methodology: This type of research is a quantitative study, with a quasy experimental research plan, with a non-randomized post-test one group design. . Results: It is known that the asymo.sig, (2-tailed) value is 0.000 <0.05. So it can be concluded that the "hypothesis is accepted". Thus it can be said that there are differences in the results of the intervention group and the control group. Because there is a significant difference, it is said that "there is an effect of providing education to preoperative laparotomy patients" Conclusion: Based on the results of the research and discussion that has been put forward under the title "the effect of providing pre-anesthesia education on anxiety levels in laparotomy patients with general anesthesia" it can be concluded as follows: There is a significant effect on providing education on preoperative anxiety of laparotomy with general anesthesia p = 0.000 (p <0.05) in the central surgical installation of Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Hospital, South Sumatra Province.

Background: Surgery or surgery that has been planned can bring about a stress reaction in patients, both physiological and psychological stress. The occurrence of this stress can lead to a condition of preoperative patient anxiety. Planned surgical actions can cause physiological and psychological responses in patients. The psychological response that usually occurs in preoperative patients is anxiety. Research Objectives: Knowing the effect of giving spiritual therapy guided by prayer on the level of anxiety in preoperative patients with spinal anesthesia in Jombang Hospital. Research Methods: This type of research uses a quasi experimental method with a pre post test research design with a control group design. Respondents were given pretest and posttest treatment using the APAIS scale measurement. The sample in this study was 22 respondents in the intervention group and 22 respondents in the control group. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out in November - June 2021. Research Results: The results of data collection were processed using the Wilcoxon test in the intervention group of 0.000 and in the control group of 0.014 and using the Mann Whitney test. Results The Mann Whitney test yielded p=0.006 (p<0.05), so Ha was accepted. Conclusion: There is a significant effect of prayer guidance therapy on the anxiety level of preoperative patients with spinal anesthesia.
