Knee osteoarthritis is one of the most prevalent musculoskeletal disorders in the elderly, characterized by progressive degeneration of articular cartilage, chronic pain, joint stiffness, and reduced functional capacity. In Indonesia, the prevalence of knee osteoarthritis is notably high, affecting over 30% of individuals aged above 60 years. This condition leads to significant health burdens, impaired quality of life, and increased economic costs. Non-pharmacological management strategies such as hydrotherapy and quadriceps exercise are widely recommended to relieve pain and improve joint function. Hydrotherapy utilizes the physical properties of water including buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, viscosity, and warmth to reduce joint loading, enhance circulation, and promote relaxation. Quadriceps exercise, on the other hand, focuses on strengthening the quadriceps muscle to stabilize the knee joint, thereby reducing pain and improving functionality. The combination of these two interventions is expected to provide greater benefits than a single modality. Research Design: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test approach on 12 elderly respondents with knee osteoarthritis at OSF Magdalena Daemen BSB Convent. Pain was measured using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) before and after the intervention, which consisted of hydrotherapy and quadriceps exercise administered twice a week for four weeks. Results: The findings showed a decrease in the mean pain score from 4.42 to 3.08, with the Wilcoxon test yielding p = 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in pain levels before and after the intervention. Conclusion: The combination of hydrotherapy and quadriceps exercise is effective in reducing pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis.

Stroke is a major neurological disease that occurs in adults and the elderly, based on the high number of emergencies and the main cause of disability and death. The most common disorder in stroke is weakness or deficits in the musculoskeletal system such as parese or plegia. These conditions will cause various disorders in patients such as decreased muscle tone and strength, muscle weakness which if not treated immediately will lead to contractures, which ultimately cause impaired mobilization. Impaired fulfillment of daily activities and disability. Nursing actions to overcome physical mobility disorders are muscle strengthening exercises, especially in the upper extremities by holding a rubber ball. Purpose:  Help solve the problem of physical mobility disorders to increase muscle strength in stroke patients with rubber ball grasping exercises. Methods: By collecting data from interviews and observations using case studies and subjects in stroke patients with nursing problems. Results:  After performing the exercise of grasping a rubber ball for 2 times in 7 days there is an increase in muscle strength with a muscle strength value of 1/5 to 3/5. Conclusion: The action of grasping rubber ball exercises can increase muscle strength to overcome physical mobility disorders in stroke patients

Health problems in the elderly are increasingly becoming a major concern at global and national levels, along with increasing life expectancy. One of the most common health problems faced by the elderly is musculoskeletal disease, including rheumatism. This study aimed to determine the effect of rheumatic exercise on the ability of elderly individuals to perform daily activities. This study is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design. The results showed that The results of the Wilcoxon rank test were p = 0.000, which was smaller than α = 0.05. This study shows the effect of rheumatic exercise on the ability of the elderly to perform daily activities. This shows that rheumatic exercise is an effective intervention to support the ability of the elderly to face physical and psychological challenges due to aging and chronic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Background: The elderly are vulnerable to chronic diseases and musculoskeletal issues, such as rheumatoid arthritis, which is characterized by pain in the joints and extremities. This disease can lead to persistent pain, fatigue, and an increased risk of injury. One effective non-pharmacological therapy for reducing joint pain in patients with rheumatoid arthritis is rheumatic exercise, which focuses on maintaining range of motion and physical health. Objective: The objective of this research is to describe the comparison of the final results between two respondents before and after the application of rheumatic exercises. Method: This research uses a case study approach with a descriptive method. Descriptive research aims to present or describe the events observed in society. The application of rheumatic exercises was carried out for 4 weeks with a frequency of once a week for 8 minutes. Result: From this study, a decrease in pain levels was found in both respondents, with N. Y's pain level dropping from 5 to 1 and Ny. Y's from 6 to 2. Conclusion: Rheumatic exercise therapy can reduce pain levels in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. (RA).

As age changes, without realizing it, elderly people will also experience physical, psychosocial and spiritual changes. One of these changes is cardiovascular and musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal system disorders are a factor in chronic diseases and motor system disorders in the elderly such as rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid Arthritis is at risk of causing complications in the form of carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition that causes numbness, tingling, pain or weakness. on the hands and wrists. This research uses a quantitative research design using a one group pre-post test (pre-experimental) method. A quantitative design is used because the data will be used to determine the influence between variables which are expressed using numbers or a numerical scale. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample size of 20 respondents. Data analysis used paired t test t test. shows that from the results of the dependent t test or paired sample T-test, it can be seen that the average level of pain before and after doing ergonomic exercises is 1,650 and obtained P value = 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 is rejected, meaning that there is an influence of ergonomic exercises on pain levels in elderly people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis at PSSW Budi Mulia 1 Cipayung in 2023

The process of growing old is a phase in a person's life cycle with characteristics found to decrease every function of body organs, such as physical, emotional, psychological conditions and social abilities. Decreased physical function that also occurs in the musculoskeletal system is calcification and decreased production of synovial fluid in the joints. This is the cause of the elderly lazy to move because of pain and stiffness. Lack of movement will cause other health problems such as atrophy or contacture in the muscles.  Lack of physical activity and sedentary behavior, resulting in decreased physical fitness and subsequent impact on physical health, well-being, sleep patterns and quality of life. In the elderly, physical fitness can be maintained with regular physical exercise from an early age, and carrying out a healthy lifestyle. Physical exercise refers more to planned, structured, and repetitive physical activity to improve or maintain body fitness. Older or elderly people are advised to take advantage of physical exercise. Some physical exercises that can be taught to the elderly. Activities in this community service are blood pressure measurement and physical exercise in the form of elderly gymnastics, which is carried out at the Mulyoharjo Health Center by involving professional students. When gymnastics, the elderly seem enthusiastic and can participate in activities and look fit.
